As Amy is teaching her class at the beginning of the movie we see her return the poster of the play to the side of her desk with only the edge visible. In the next cut we see the poster facing forward having mysteriously transposed its position while she continues to talk to the students.
The detective jogging notices the broken glass on the sidewalk and thinks someone broke into the drug store. Broken glass would be on the inside if someone broke in.
Detective Travis Burke asks Russ (CSI tech?) if he got any fingerprints off the bullet that was fired into a mirror. This would be impossible, as there could be no fingerprints left on a bullet after it is fired. The friction of the bullet going down the barrel and the groves cut into the bullet by the rifling would remove all fingerprints. While fingerprints might be found on the brass shell casing, there was no mention of the brass being found, which gives the impression the gun used was a revolver.
Amy (Jill Wagner) left her purse in the house where she found the toy monkey. She brought the toy down, but not her purse. Then she left the building without her purse.
TV cop error 101: The detective while jogging sees a fresh break in. She has her phone in her hand and no weapon. Instead of calling it in and awaiting backup (which in a town that size that time of day would be under 5 minutes), she enters the store. She is subsequently knocked out. An actual police officer would recognize the risk vs reward of entering an unoccupied store unarmed and would not do so. The only time an officer would do something like this is if there was someone endangered inside the building.
