At only 22 minutes, 49 seconds this doesn't get real in depth. This is a singleepisode from a TV series. Very little said about her childhood. Still, it covers the highlights of her life and career. This is not a dram or recreation. The actors merely represent Rosetta and others while there is narration.
A few films of her performing are shown which unfortunately might be all that exists. More surprising, they don't even play too much of her music even though she has a decent catalog of music. A few people that were influenced by Sister Rosetta or (I think) wrote a book speak throughout the TV show with their viewpoints. As I'm a fan of her guitar playing which is discussed, they do not have a guitar player represented so it's greatly missing that perspective. I can't say, I really learned anything new but those that are really not aware of Sister Rosetta Tharpe will learn some things. Worth checking out.
