Ganbatte Ne !!!

Overactive imagination. A friendship based on shared (mostly) passion. Distinctive personalities. Funny dialogue. Well-drawn animation. Cute but not overly kawaii girls. This anime series is really good!

What I like most is that Midori, Sayaka, and Tsubame are totally believable and relatable characters. Even Mr. Fujimoto is realistic in a humorous way. This anime is actually much better than the live-action version.

PS ... Wish I could join their club :D.

A look into childhood passion
Flalfs23 March 2020
Eizouken is amazing, it is able to make you walk in the shoes of aspiring animators i such a way that it is extremely entertaining. The music is great along with the simplistic art style, but what hooks me here is you feel as if you are there. I would give it a 9.5 if I could because it is just splendid. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Most unique anime I've seen in awhile!
Reckno645 March 2020
So surprised no one has written a review yet? I'll start: This is an anime about a group of girls aspiring to make anime. And it is already one of the best I've seen! The characters are fantastic, the idea is unique, the animation is unique, and the world they live in is just SO COOL TO LOOK AT. I mean you have to see what I'm talking about to believe it! Words cannot express how fascinating the setting is. This anime makes me feel like a kid again with that creative childlike spark, and it's been awhile since I saw a show that did that!

Just watch this one already you won't be disappointed! Definitely 10/10 and in my opinion the best anime this year so far! :)

A Tribute to the Creative Spirit
dmdebruyn29 April 2020
It's a show about young animators making an anime, there's really nothing more to it. However, anyone with a passion for creating things - whether writing, filming, editing, or animating - will identify with the lead characters. It does a great job of capturing the spirit of creating something, and it gives off a pretty good message that at the end of the day, as long as you're creating something, you're accomplishing something. That being said, I really liked this show.

Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!
Tweekums30 March 2020
This anime series is centred on a trio of school girls who get together and create an anime club. They don't sit around watching anime; they intend to make their own. Midori believes anime is all about great world building; she is constantly on the lookout for inspiration in the world around them. Tsubame is a local model but aspires to be an animator. Sayaka isn't as interested in anime as the other two but she sees a money making opportunity and negotiates with the school authorities when needed. Throughout the series the group work to be allowed to form a club then work to create their first anime; to do this they will have to work with other clubs; most notably the one member Audio Club.

There are numerous anime series about school girls getting together to form a club; don't be fooled into thinking this is going to be like most of those... this is something special. At first sight the character designs look a little basic but really suit the characters. The town they live in is beautifully designed and as Midori imagines various anime possibilities the animation style changes seamlessly to make it clear what is real and what isn't. The characters are great fun to watch and their activities seem real even when things occasionally get far-fetched. Overall I'd say this is the 'anime of the season' for me; it is just a pity it is only twelve episodes long... definitely one to watch.

These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.

One of the best anime I've ever seen.
gamergunk4224 July 2022
This show lovingly basks itself in the ups and downs of creativity and how even though business interferes with art, the love of that art is what keeps the people going...

Sounds like anti-union propaganda, but it's 100x more wholesome then that.

An explosion of creativity for the brain, sincere and full of heart
pabpab-ala11129 March 2022
I really enjoyed how 'free-form' the twelve-episode piece felt. As though the creators' vision was coming together more organically than any high profile anime I have seen in recent years. My favourite part of all is the three main characters, each very different in her own way but an indispensable member of the team. All the characters felt very human, with all their talents and personal challenges given plenty of time to shine despite the relatively short total runtime. I found the plot airtight with all its ups and downs coming beautifully to fruition at the end. The art is very expressive, dipping into unorthodox styles to show what animation is like from the maker's perspective. I recommend this anime to aspiring artists or makers of any creative project, as I can see how the way it tells its story could be enormously inspiring to anybody who develops a piece of work in collaboration with others.

Reminding us all why we love anime
lchesser-851143 February 2021
Eizouken. Best anime of the year, hands down. I think it in short is the best anime of the year because it frankly, has a simple but amazing storyline with 3 realistic girls making anime, with natural struggles, budget issues, action, wholesomeness, best girl Sayori, commentary on the anime industry, great art, and a intro that slaps. It really reminded me why I love anime. The story, style, and vibe. 100% recommend to all new and old weebs.

An ode to the art of Animation
samxxxul9 December 2020
This is one of those few animes that slips under the radar and goes unnoticed. The low rating can be considered as a fact to support it. Nevertheless, it's one of the fresh anime to be released this year. It is filled with so many facets, so much to say, combined with a delightful story and a wonderful cast to fill it out. It praises the spirit of an animator and shows what goes behind the making of the art. It emphasizes the feelings and thoughts of an aspiring animator with a tender approach and it should damn well be acknowledged.

This anime is not for the hyper-critical anime freaks, however, if you want to enjoy yourself and witness something fresh then this is for you. There is right mix of adventure, humour and draws a fantasy world unlike other animes. The references to the making can be seen in every single frame of the show, from storyboarding to shooting and the banter between the 3 characters is amazing from the 1st to the last episode. It feels like a byte sized episode, the pacing the fast and it will never bore you. Give it a watch on a lazy weekend and i'm sure you will love this one.

One of the decent animes I've watched at the start of 2020!
Irishchatter23 March 2020
Is it just me or has 12 episodes of this anime just flew by already this year?!

Anyways with me dropping a ton of anime this Winter 2020 season, this anime was luckily one of the decent ones I've watched through atw!

I really liked how this anime portrayed on anime itself, especially how it is never easy to create it and honestly Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! definitely proved this realistic concept folks!

Fairplay to Tamura Mutsumi, Itou Sairi and Matsuoka Misato for doing such an incredible performance as the girls. We all know here that Kanamori will definitely be crowned "best girl" here for her intelligent blackmail technique when it comes to their animated films haha!

This anime may not have been the best personally but it still was good to keep me interested in watching more of what the group of girls have for us to offer in store. The animation in this I gotta say, is pretty basic enough like it wasn't that mind blowing or fascinating. However it still has it's own charm and is good enough if you're not gonna take this anime that seriously!

Definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to be an animator for real or just needs new anime to watch!!

Best show I've seen
lifeofxen2 July 2022
I don't know if it's because I'm an animator and love animation, but I personally find this to be the best show I've seen. Every technique they've shown off is a real thing in animation, and the creator of this show is obviously an animator. This show is a reminder of why I do art, of why I animate, it's because of the pure wonder and imagination that goes into every single frame. 10/10, would really freaking recommend.
