Unearthed Films and Plotdigger Films are proud to announce the DVD release of Ryan Nicholson’s (Gutterballs, Hanger, Live Feed) extreme horror Collar; which sees a rookie cop starts her shift like any other but soon it will all change for the worse. A derelict with a reputation of satanic violence, attacks the officer and collars her with a dog leash which is just the start of his abusive ritual.
Collar stars Nick Principe, who played Chromeskull in Laid to Rest 1 and 2, as a satanic derelict with a taste for human flesh who terrorizes skid row’s prostitutes, junkies and homeless, escalating his level of violence after he abducts a rookie cop played by Aidan Dee (Caprica, A Dangerous Man), on a routine patrol. The film also stars Mackenzie Murdock (Father’s Day, Manborg), Ronald Thompson (Hanger) and Mihola Terzik (Gutterballs).

Laurence Fishburne (21, Armored, Tortured, CSI: Miami; NY, Las Vegas, The Matrix, Mission: Impossible III) is in talks to join Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard, Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow in Steven Soderbergh’s deadly virus thriller Contagion.
If his schedule works out, Fishburne will be taking on a “major role.” His role is said to be as big as all of the other actors.
No specific plot details, but the action-thriller takes place over four continents and centers on a terrifying deadly virus outbreak.
Damon, Winslet, Cotillard, Law, Law and Fishburne are going to “play an international team of doctors and scientists brought in by the Cdc (Centers for Disease Control) once a sickness outbreak starts.”
The script for Contagion was written by Scott Burns (The Informant! and The Bourne Ultimatum).
The movie will shoot later this year.
Warner Bros will be distributing Contagion and helping finance the $60 million budget.

The topic of torture is a hot-button issue in today’s America, with the legality of waterboarding and the tales of abuse at Guantanamo Bay bringing man’s inhumanity to man into the public eye like never before. Torture has also been a moneymaker in films, with the Saw franchise milking five installments out of the grisly pleasure of the act. So we were somewhat surprised that Tortured, a new film with a fairly A-list cast including Laurence Fishburne, Jon Cryer and Cole Hauser went directly to DVD. Directed by Nolan Lebovitz, whose only previous credit was 2003’s gynecological comedy Dr. Benny, Tortured most certainly didn’t deserve the direct-to-video treatment – read on.

Well then, we must have the most specific psychic capabilities known to mankind, cause really, that’s exactly the exclusive we have for you. Sure, it comes off a little Saw meets Hostel with the soundtrack from 24, but who am I to judge? You’re the one that wanted to see this, remember? Enjoy, and remember to tell us EXACTLY how you feel about it. Don’t hold back, it’s ok, we have no feelings.
