One of the best C-Drama
hasanmehedi-khan10 May 2020
You guys really need to watch this drama. Like seriously. Here's a short review on the pros and cons of this drama...

The Pros 1. The couple has amazing chemistry. 2. The guy is really smart but he doesn't have an I'm holier than thou attitude 3. The girl is quirky but not to the point where she messes everything up and cannot do anything by her self. 4. There is quality humor 5. It's a cliche and has a lot of swoon worthy moments 6. Unlike most dramas, the guy falls for the guy first 7. The mothers are very supportive of the couple

The Cons 1. It ends 2. You'll probably have a sleepless night (or two) like I did 3.If you are single, it'll make you feel even more single So just have a go at it

So domestic and sweet!
renelaitinen3 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
So, to start honestly, this series was a bit boring and uninteresting in the first few episodes. That was because in my opinion it was confusing and way too slow paced. But after the story started to move forward, it got interesting really fast. I was hooked after that.

I loved how the relationship between Go Weiyi and Situ Mo started and developed. They were really domestic right from the beginning and they matched perfectly. Their romance was natural and flowed like second nature to them. This type of storytelling with romantic is really rare, so it was fresh and that's actually why I got so addicted to them in the first place.

Also I like how there weren't that many stereotypical conflicts between the characters in the series. The three-way-drama was non-existing, but still important for the story and the main leads themselves didn't have the usual fights. Once again, this made the series really fresh and addicting to watch.

I have to comment about the actors as well. There really wasn't any bad moment in my opinion. Both Lin Yi and Xing Fei did really great at portraying the feelings of the characters and the atmosphere of the scenes. I felt every emotion I was supposed to. Sometimes I find acting a bit awkward in Chinese series, but that was not the case in this one. I love and respect both these actors.

Definitely worth the watch and would recommend 10/10. Nine stars because of the slow paced storytelling and some awkward ways the story was cut and fast forwarded.

Comedy, drama, a darn cute girl and a loveable yet dippy male lead 😊. It's a lot of fun, and I must admit, I shed a few tears on occasion.

Updated review after re-watching... Flipping wonderful!!
alexandra-4285725 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This is the first Asian series I have watched for a second time and I loved it even more than the first. There is so much more to this than a simple love story. The characters are so endearing and the absolute adoration Gu Wei has for Situ Mo is the best part. I love they way he Googles everything and that the parents are nice and supportive for once and instead of huge obstacles, you just get to enjoy two very different characters develop such love and friendship. Situ Mo is such a cute, loveable character and the other friends are so lovely too. In contrast with many other series, the last few episodes are the best, not a rush to a final conclusion but most of my favourite lines and moments come from these episodes and they take you a bit further than down the road. Watched this during the Covid-19 outbreak and it was a sweet escape! More like this please!!

Soooo good. Love the tiny little details

Warning: Spoilers
Definitely having a watermelon fight next summer. Will alws think cutting veggies with ruler to make it exact 1 cm cube! Walnut cracking won't need googling. It was sad to see him come to an empty home and see a failed attempt of making walnut sesame soup! Loved how made a list on how to stop her from moving out! How he said he's allergic to prawns so that she could have it alone without feeling guilty. Making the ballon electrified and sticking to the wall is 1 of the advantages of having a scientist bf. Losing Jenga will be the sweetest u get to stare at the person u love for 20 sec or take a nice selfie. From writing a physics love letter.. Equation of love to making a snowman which melted.. The writer has put such tiny cute details about love and caring. Just love it already. I don't want it to end!

Good Enough
PennyReviews19 May 2019
One thing that I appreciated about this drama was the ending. Put your head on my shoulder didn't follow the patern of the other chinese drama that start so good and they just have an open and unsatisfying ending. No, this one gives you closure. And, overall, it was cute and sweet. The story, even though it's not anything original and it was full of cliche, was nevertheless interesting, at least most of it. However, the side stories were just there to fill the gaps, as the side couples had no chemistry. But, as the main couple were over the top good together, I guess that doesn't really matter. Another good points about this drama : good performances, funny moments, adorable leads. So, seven out of ten.

Loved the moments, characters and details
chandranister20 November 2020
This is such a refreshing take on the college romance trope. The equation between the OTP develops beautifully and there's so much story in every little exchange and moments of silence. Despite being a romcom, it didn't get too casual or irritating at any point and the 24 episodes just fly by. Gu weyei's character sketch is very realistic and impressive and it's a treat to watch Situ Mo's ebullience. This one's a must watch for rom com lovers.

Sweet and Cute - But The Ending Lets The Story Down
OldGuyUS24 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Put Your Head on My Shoulder

This was my wife and I's first CDrama. I really liked the premise of this story. And the leads, and the secondary characters as well, were all cute and acted well. The FL, Xing Fei, in particular did a really good job with her character. She was cheerful, independent, and cute.

Having said that, I had two problems with this show that lowered the rating.

First, the male lead was just TOO stiff and clueless. Looking up everything about love (and sex) on the Internet. Gads. I have some standing to criticize this since I have degrees in physics and math and was an unsocialized dork until I was lucky enough to find a woman who could help me mature. But I was never as clueless as the ML! I just found this aspect of the him to be too unbelievable and annoying, even for a RomCom.

Secondly, the ending just was dumb and annoying. The ML strong-arming the FL into a all-of-a-sudden marriage was SO out of character and cringey my wife and I just hated it. We were really mad that this happened to the FL! It spoiled a show that was cute and a bit relatable (if a bit slow) up until then. What a disaster. Did the writers/producers just run out of time and money and had to find a way to wrap it up?

The other thing about the ending was, for some reason, in a non-English speaking country, they have to speak English for a short time. It was totally dumb and the English was SO bad. They should have left that part out or practiced 10 times more before filming this. (My wife was born and raised in Asia and spoke no English until college. So please don't take these comments as stemming from prejudice.)

So I'lll be a bit generous with a 8 rating for most of the show, and a -1 for the ending. The just did not stick the landing. It is really too bad.

A science nerd in love....
gee-1513 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Gu Wei is a brilliant, handsome but socially inept physics major and Situ Mo is a cute, feisty accounting major (who wants to go into advertising). Through a (frankly unbelievable) series of events, they end up living in the same apartment while Situ Mo is working on her internship and Gu Wei is working in the lab of a physics professor. At first, Gu Wei finds her a bit annoying but then finds himself falling in love and, for the first time in his life, clueless as to how to deal with the situation.

That's the series in a nutshell. It's essentially about how two different people meet, come together and evolve as a couple. The humor comes mainly from Gu's sometimes awkward attempts to woo Situ Mo (let's say that Google is not always his friend) and her initially perplexed responses to those attempts. But even after they become a couple, there are still missteps to be made, misunderstandings to be cleared up and barriers to be overcome. (For example, I won't say too much but their first attempt at physical intimacy...let's say it doesn't go so well).

Those looking for high drama and intense romantic scenes should look elsewhere. This is Chinese romantic cuteness at its finest.

Really enjoyable first half, very tedious second half.
Dimmie31 July 2021
Starts of strong and situations are funny, but halfway through it loses steam, like a different team of writers took over. Gone is the funny fresh feeling and quirkiness; replaced by mundane situations. Side characters get a bit annoying with their constant whining, a storyline is almost non-existent and from there it just becomes a tedious watch, especially when episodes are an unnecessary 45 minutes long and with there being 24 of them.

Absolutely Adorable!
morebon4 December 2019
This was truly a delightfully entertaining lighthearted, coming-of-age romance drama! Xing Fei and Lin Yi were brilliant in their performance together: their characters' (Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi) innocent attraction development was so naively cute. *swoon* By far, an extremely enjoyable and heartwarming narrative. Kudos to the writers and director! Loved it!

I wish there was an English dubbed version.
johnmg-594511 July 2020
I was flipping through Netflix and came across a preview of "Put Your Head on my Shoulder". I watched the preview and saw this very adorable girl ( Xing Fei ) on a bus making cute but weird faces. I figured it would be a goofy show but I wanted to watch one episode.

I typically don't watch shows that I can't understand the language but I was captivated by the story and the goofy anime-like foliage. Even though I hate reading subtitles I finished watching the entire 24 episodes. There were parts in there that had me tearing up and I'm very far from being called an emotional person.

Even though I finished watching it, I would love to watch this again in a dubbed format. However, I don't want the voice actors to ruin the subtlety of the original cast.

Your average c-drama
blebbe14 February 2022
This was an okay drama, it had some sweet moments, especially in the beginning. The first half was really entertaining, but after that I found it hard to continue. It was still a sweet story with a satisfying ending.

MUSICALLY AMAZING !
ais-3347728 December 2019
This review is only for music and songs in the drama not about cast and story .I'm giving 10 rating only for music.Their background score is too good especially the dog and the cat sounds. I love all the songs in this drama and I used to listen to them everyday. For every emotion they made remarkable BGM. So music lovers go and watch it you will definitely feel the music.I want to thank the music team for giving such a wonderful bgm.

A sweet enough love story
geewhiz4612 September 2022
This is a typical young love outing with all the usual highs and lows that new couples experience.

Momo is a happy young woman with a crush on the college jock Fu-pei. He takes her for granted and lets her down most of the time - sending his friend Gu Wei-yi to stand in for him.

The dialogue for the actor playing Gu Wei-yi must have been very hard to memorise - so kudos to him for that.

The acting is not bad - but Lin Yi shows his inexperience (I think this was his first foray into acting)- particularly in love scenes. His kisses are merely a pressing of lip on lip, and one gets tired of the wide-eyed surprise from. Xing Fei every time he does it.

I find the feminist writing putting cosy chats between males about female functions irritating - especially as they react with such horror at the sight of a brassiere.

It is enjoyable enough - but too long - some episodes nothing happens at all of any note. They could have told the entire story in 12 episodes and not made us fast forward through pointless conversations.

It's an undemanding love story without much conflict.

Boring
pranjalicse23 May 2021
I really don't understand how this series won so many accolades.. the acting of the cast if definitely good... i liked the story for its positivity .. but it was too boring to have 24 ep... could have been finished in 10 episodes easily.. no twists and turns ... just a plain simple college life.

Simply wonderful!

Warning: Spoilers
I have been a great fan of Korean dramas but this was my first Chinese series. At first I found the animal sounds a bit offputting but I soon got used to it and after giving it a chance ended up absolutely loving the simple romantic story and characters. I loved that we got our happy ending/s and then the story continued for a few episodes. Such a sweet, romantic series, really going to miss the characters.
