When the first season of Andor hit Disney+ in 2022, it was clear that there’d never been a Star Wars story like it before – a gritty, grounded, morally and politically complex espionage thriller that just happened to be set in the galaxy far, far away. The show, headed up by Tony Gilroy, dug its fingers into the true ideologies of the Empire; the experiences of the galaxy’s oppressed people; the cost involved for those orchestrating the fight back. And among it all came some of the most nail-biting setpieces in the entire saga, from the Ferrix uprising, to the Narkina 5 prison break – and, of course, the pulse-pounding Aldhani raid. In a brand new featurette from the upcoming 4K steelbook release of the series, Diego Luna looks back on the making of the Aldhani arc. Give it a watch here:
It’s always fascinating seeing how these sequences come together...

Following in the footsteps of House of the Dragons, which was an immense success for HBO, several spin-offs to Game of Thrones are currently in development. While fans are extremely excited to delve deeper into the world of Westeros, unfortunately, Kit Harington’s Jon Snow spin-off, which was once reported to be in the works, is no longer happening.
With the spin-off officially off the cards, hopes of diving deeper into the Land Of Always Winter, which many theorized would’ve be explored in the canned spin-off, is now out of the equation.

When it comes to protecting his IPs, Kevin Feige is no less than a clucking mother hen, and Captain America might just be the biggest egg in the basket. After Chris Evans’ swan song moment in Avengers: Endgame, the IP became as invaluable as first-edition art – treasured enough to be left as is but popular enough to be replicated.

When their supporting cast was being assembled at the end of 2022, it was announced that Sandrine Holt (American Gigolo) had signed on to appear on the show as a love interest to the Fisk – with the word being that she was taking over the role of his wife Vanessa Marianna Fisk, who had previously been played by Ayelet Zurer on the Netflix show. Apparently there had been scheduling issues with Zurer, who said she was “sad to not take part” in the new series… which, at the time, wasn’t meant to line up with the Netflix show perfectly. Over the last decade or so, Marvel has had a knack for snagging independent filmmakers with a lot of buzz, critical acclaim, and innovative creative voices to join their stable. Before James Gunn was at the helm of the "Guardians of the Galaxy" trilogy, he was the guy who got his start writing "Tromeo and Juliet" for Lloyd Kaufman. And he's not alone. Scott Derrickson, Jon Watts, Taika Waititi, Cate Shoreland, Destin Daniel Cretton, Chloé Zhao, Nia DaCosta, and so many others were still stars on the rise when Marvel came calling.
Fan reactions are typically divided with one camp worried this marks the end of their independent visions in favor of corporate-driven storytelling, while others are thrilled to see directors they love getting one hell of a paycheck. Theoretically, this should give them the creative freedom to make whatever film they want next, like the director's version of what...

Jon Bernthal's Punisher is officially back in action. New photos taken from the set of "Daredevil: Born Again" have confirmed the return of the actor's version of Frank Castle, who first appeared on the Marvel Netflix shows nearly a decade ago. But five years after "The Punisher" was canceled by the streaming service, Bernthal is reuniting with his old frenemy Matt Murdock (once again played by Charlie Cox).

It's been three years since the King of the Monsters and the king of Skull Island graced the silver screen, but the legendary beasts are back in "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire." Adam Wingard has returned to the director's chair for another kaiju-filled romp in the MonsterVerse, one that has even more monsters than 2021's "Godzilla vs. Kong" did. Wingard, it's also worth pointing out, is the first director to helm two movies in this franchise, so we're getting some consistency here. But are we getting anything else after the credits start rolling?
Both "Kong: Skull Island" and "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" had post-credits scenes, so it's reasonable to wonder if "Godzilla x Kong" is going to have one. Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk had one of the most stagnant character arcs in the MCU, despite the hero being a crucial part of the Avengers team. While behind-the-scenes issues played a major part in the MCU’s failure to explore this character, even solving those issues may no longer help Hulk’s story. The universe has already introduced another superhero dealing with multiple personality disorder — Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight — which undermines the Hulk’s defining characteristic from the comics.

The series aired from 1992 to 1997, and Winderbaum, as executive producer, is on the verge of releasing X-Men ’97, which picks up right where the original series left off as the classic X-Men characters are forced to find a way forward without the leadership of Professor Charles Xavier.
Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige required only two conditions before giving his blessing on the latest Disney+ animated series.
“Following the success of What If…?, when we were able to make more animated shows, [X-Men ’97] was my first idea out of the box. And Kevin [Feige] was like, ‘Alright, if we can get the [original] cast and we can get the song, let’s do it.

Anthony Mackie is all set to get his solo Captain America project in Captain America: Brave New World, slated to release in 2025. Sam Wilson has to fill in great shoes and carry the prestigious mantle after Steve Rogers passed his Vibranium shield and his title to him in Avengers: Endgame. However, the Disney+ show, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, explored Wilson’s journey from being Falcon to Captain America.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was the second Disney+ MCU series following WandaVision. Unfortunately, the show could not mimic the success of the Elizabeth Olsen series and generated a very mixed response on the internet. It looks like the debate regarding the show has resurfaced once again before the release of Captain America 4.

Andor, Moon Knight, Obi Wan and The Falcon And The Winter Soldier are getting a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release in the UK.
As we reported a week or two back, Disney has been lining up another bunch of its Disney+ Marvel and Star Wars TV shows for physical media release. It started this last year with a bunch of limited edition 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Steelbooks that appeared to go down rather well, and it’d been announced that more titles were heading to the US at least.
Well, we can now confirm that those releases are also coming to the UK as well, and we’ve got dates for them as well. All four of them! Best stop waffling on and get to the point.

It is true that when you start portraying one character so perfectly in the film industry for an extended period of time, they start getting recognition and become synonymous with it. Such was the case with Elizabeth Olsen, who rose to international stardom with her portrayal of Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Well, if one gets an opportunity to work with one of the most successful superhero franchises in the world, they would definitely take it, as it’ll put them on the list of the top stars in the industry.

However, the Kill Your Darlings actress had grown bored of her superhero role and wanted to step back because she felt it killed the acting range and limited her opportunities as an artist. Now, her dream has come true as Olsen is going to...

“What the hell’s a mutant?”
Over 30 years ago, Canadian voice actor Cal Dodd auditioned for Project X, an animated show at the now-defunct Fox Kids – a children’s programming block known in the ‘90s for Saturday morning cartoons. He was up for a character called Wolverine, and he read lines for a scene with someone named Sabretooth.
“Is this an animal cartoon?” he recalls wondering as he stood in a vocal booth in Toronto.
Meanwhile in the U.S., Alison Sealy-Smith couldn’t believe she was stooping so low for her role.
“I had no idea what this was about,” she says. “They told me it was a cartoon. I felt a little quiver because I was supposed to be this serious actress. I was out in Connecticut doing Shakespeare at the time. I had no idea what I was getting myself into.”

Mike Mitchell’s Kung Fu Panda 4 is all set to hit the global theatres with the continuation of the adventures of Jack Black’s Po. While The Dragon Warrior Po is the star of the show, several other characters have made a prominent buzz including Viola Davis’ The Chameleon.
Viola Davis as The Chameleon
Davis’ character in the movie— a wicked shape-shifting sorceress that can copy the abilities of others by absorbing their prowess, quite adjacent to the trait of the name itself— was very hard to create. But the animators have nailed it. This might make you wonder what Marvel is doing in this regard.
How Kung Fu Panda 4 Achieved The Astounding Animation?
The Chameleon was the most complex character to create in Kung Fu Panda 4
Mike Mitchell excelled with his visionary approach to extending the universe of Kung Fu Panda starring Jack Black with the latest installment.

Marvel's upcoming animated show "X-Men '97" has come with nothing but good vibes since its announcement, bringing a fresh dose of nostalgia to many a Marvel fan of my generation. I speak for most of us when I say we practically grew up on the original "X-Men" cartoon and developed a Pavlovian response to that absurdly catchy theme song, and the marketing for the revival series has certainly leaned hard into the '90s of it all. Today, however, brings a sobering bit of news on the eve of the project's debut.

Beau DeMayo, the showrunner and executive producer behind Disney+’s upcoming animated series “X-Men ’97,” has been fired ahead of the March 20 premiere, Variety has confirmed.
DeMayo had completed work on Seasons 1 and 2 of “X-Men ’97” ahead of his exit. He will not attend the March 13 Hollywood premiere for the show. His Instagram account, on which he had been previewing artwork and answering fan questions about “X-Men ’97,” has also been deleted.
He wrote and produced “X-Men ’97,” which is a continuation of the popular “X-Men: The Animated Series” that aired on Fox Kids in the ’90s. It is unclear why DeMayo was fired from “X-Men ’97” so close to the premiere, but he will no longer promote the show or be involved with future seasons.
“He did excellent work writing Seasons 1 and 2, and I can’t wait for fans to see the series,” executive producer Brad Winderbaum told Variety.

Earlier this month, Beau DeMayo was in the midst of a particularly busy time at Marvel Studios. The writer-producer was preparing for the launch of X-Men ’97, the Disney+ series he created as a continuation of the beloved ‘90s Fox Kids show.
DeMayo, a Marvel regular who previously wrote on live-action series Moon Knight as well as early drafts of the company’s delayed-but-still-upcoming vampire thriller Blade, had completed writing duties on season two of X-Men ’97, was lining up press, and making plans to attend the show’s Hollywood premiere on March 13. He was even discussing loose ideas for a third season with members of his team.
But early last week, Marvel and DeMayo suddenly parted ways. His company email was deactivated and cast and crew were informed he was no longer on the project. DeMayo’s Instagram account, once a source for X-Men updates, was deleted. No reason for the firing was given.

Marvel has had a plethora of franchises over the years but none of them could come close to the popularity matched by Ghost Rider, featuring Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze. The first film was released in 2007 which was a massive hit, and four years later, it got a strange sequel titled Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance. Though it was not a massive hit like the initial film, it was an intriguing watch as the film featured more action and watching Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze and his anti-hero avatar was an absolute blast.

Avengers: Endgame was one of the most culturally significant films of all time. It was the perfect example of Marvel at its finest, with some of the loudest theaters that had fans feeling an entire range of emotions. However, sadness was the one most felt by fans, who could not believe that they were seeing the legendary Tony Stark die in front of their eyes.
Josh Brolin’s Thanos in Avengers: Endgame
It would not be too far-fetched to say that the film traumatized many fans. However, it would seem that there was an earlier version of the movie which would have been a lot darker, one where Chris Evans’ Captain America gets decapitated.

Ewan McGregor returned as the Jedi Knight, Obi-Wan Kenobi, in his titular series, almost 17 years after his last appearance in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. The series did a decent job of entertaining the Star Wars fandom, despite the criticisms for its shoddy writing at places. However, Disney has quietly confirmed that McGregor’s show is not getting another season.
Ewan McGregor reprised his role from the Star Wars prequel trilogy in Disney+’s Obi-Wan Kenobi
Obi-Wan Kenobi took place ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith and the titular character is in hiding on the planet Tatooine, looking after Luke. He is tasked with the mission of rescuing Princess Leia from the Galactic Empire, which leads to a confrontation with his former apprentice.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians has been doing phenomenal numbers for Disney+ with 110 million hours streamed as of Feb. 7, according to a press release. Fans of this beloved Rick Riordan book series have been waiting nearly two decades for a worthwhile adaptation, and thanks to Riordan’s involvement and an immense amount of care from the cast and crew, Disney+ seems to have struck gold with this franchise.
However, Percy Jackson and the Olympians isn’t the only mythology-based middle grade book series that Rick Riordan has written. The Kane Chronicles may not be as well-known as its Greek predecessor, but this 2010s trilogy based on Egyptian mythology still has a dedicated fan base eager to see these characters on screen.

It’s unfortunate, but most streaming shows (and movies for that matter) never get a physical release, but thankfully, Disney has been releasing some of their most popular Marvel and Star Wars shows on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray. Following in the footsteps of Loki season 1, WandaVision, and the first two seasons of The Mandalorian, Disney announced today that they will be releasing collector’s editions of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Moon Knight, Andor, and Obi-Wan Kenobi on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray. Hurray for physical media!

"Star Wars" fans have a bit of a good news/bad news situation to contend with today. The good news? It was confirmed that 2022's "Obi-Wan Kenobi" series is finally getting a 4K and Blu-ray release nearly two years after it finished its run on Disney+. Unfortunately, that very same physical media release has also quietly confirmed that the show is not getting a second season and is instead going to remain a limited series. That's not good news for those who wished to see Ewan McGregor suit up one more time as the beloved Jedi.
The upcoming Blu-ray release was announced alongside similar releases for Marvel's "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" and "Moon Knight," as well as the "Star Wars" series "Andor." All three of those shows were billed as "the complete first season" by Disney. "Obi-Wan Kenobi," on the other hand, will be released as "the complete series.
