Tony Gilroy is coming off a brilliant run on Andor, which recently concluded its second and final season. While the series might’ve lasted for only 24 episodes, Gilroy has been associated with the Star Wars universe for almost a decade at this point. Hence, it is safe to say the writer-director understands the finer details of what makes these big-budget franchises work.

When Disney+ launched, the pressure was on Marvel Studios to help shore up the House of Mouse's streaming catalogue. That quantity over quality approach hasn't benefited the Multiverse Saga, but there have still been some great streaming series.

WandaVision, for example, worked so much better on television than it would have done in theaters. Now, though, Marvel Television is taking a new approach, focusing on multi-season shows like Daredevil: Born Again and stories with fewer connections to the movies.

That's not necessarily a bad thing, but there are a handful of MCU TV shows that shouldn't be forgotten; heck, they deserve new seasons, and the handful we think Marvel Studios should revisit are the focus of this feature.

“Daredevil: Born Again” star Charlie Cox revealed his least favorite episode of the Disney+ series’ first season — and it is not the one Marvel fans might expect.

In an interview published Tuesday with The Playlist, Cox revealed that the one episode of “Daredevil: Born Again” Season 1 that remained untouched after the series’ well-publicized creative overhaul was its fifth installment, “With Interest.” The episode follows Cox’s Matt Murdock as he stops a New York City bank heist and, in the process of doing so, saves Yusuf Khan (Mohan Kapur), the father of “Ms. Marvel” hero Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani).

"Thunderbolts*" is a huge, pleasant surprise. A fun, yet mature Marvel movie, a rare superhero movie that actually has something to say, with an emotional gut punch of a story about mental health. Ever since "Avengers: Endgame," the Marvel Cinematic Universe has felt aimless, like DC after "Justice League" but without as much experimentation. Sure, the TV shows did explore different tones with varying degrees of success, but the movies started to feel more cookie-cutter than ever (with a couple of exceptions).

This is why "Thunderbolts*" feels so refreshing, because it looks back at what has always worked best with Marvel movies, namely the team dynamics, while trying something new like having the third act essentially pull a "Neon Genesis Evangelion" finale by trading a fisticuff climax for an introspective therapy session inside a depressed character's head (while the outside world faces annihilation).

Zsófia Szemerédy, formerly International Manager at BAFTA’s environmentally-focused arm Albert, has launched Leverage Point Entertainment (Lpe). Her London- and Budapest-based boutique sustainability agency aims to close space between artistic vision and environmental responsibility in film, TV, commercial and entertainment production.

Daredevil: Born Again director Aaron Moorhead recently hinted at what fans can expect from the upcoming second season of the Disney+ revival. Moorhead previously worked with Marvel Studios on 2022’s Moon Knight and 2023’s Loki Season 2.

Another actor with franchise experience has just expressed interest in playing Wonder Woman for James Gunn's DC Universe. With Gal Gadot not expected to reprise the superhero role from the DC Extended Universe, Moon Knight star May Calamawy has thrown her name in the hat.

Appearing as a special guest at the recent Comic-Con France, Calamawy was asked during the fan Q&a portion whether she was interested in portraying Princess Diana of Themyscira in the Dcu. "If they want me to play Wonder Woman, I’ll play Wonder Woman," Calamawy responded (via ComicBookMovie). I’m still haunted by the sickening thud of Commissioner Gallo’s skull cracking under Fisk’s bare hands. It’s grotesque, sure, but also a breath of fresh, blood-tinged air for an MCU because it is finally stepping out of its strictly PG garb.

It's no secret that the role of Wonder Woman is one of the most coveted in Hollywood, and it seems another talented actress has thrown her hat (or perhaps tiara?) into the ring.

It was a surprisingly packed weekend at the box office, despite the fact that the previous weekend's champion, "A Minecraft Movie," managed to repeat atop the charts with another $80 million under its belt. At the same time, we had a handful of new movies opening this weekend including A24's war drama "Warfare," Rami Malek's action-thriller "The Amateur," and Blumhouse's new horror/thriller "Drop." However, it was an animated, faith-based movie starring Oscar Isaac that came out on top of the rest of the weekend's newcomers.

Angel Studios' "The King of Kings," an animated retelling of the story of Jesus based loosely on Charles Dickens' "The Life of Our Lord," opened to a bigger-than-expected $19.3 million domestically. That came very close to challenging "Sound of Freedom" ($19.6 million) for Angel's biggest opening weekend to date. That movie went on to become a word-of-mouth sensation, pulling in nearly $185 million domestically and more than $250 million globally.

Marvel Studios' Moon Knight premiered on Disney+ in 2022 and, unfortunately, was largely overshadowed during what proved to be another jam-packed year for the MCU both in theaters and on streaming.

Marvel Zombies was first announced at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2022 as part of a splashy "Marvel Animation" slate reveal. Things went quiet after that, though it's since been confirmed that the four-episode series will premiere on Disney+ on October 3, later this year.

While the concept originated in the comics, it wasn't until What If...? season 1 that Marvel Studios finally put the spotlight on undead superheroes. In an episode titled "What If... Zombies?!" we watched as several fan-favourite heroes, including Spider-Man, fought off a whole host of undead fan-favourites.

Marvel Zombies will serve as a sequel to that, and the What If...? series finale offered a glimpse at one of the Variants expected to take centre stage in the story: Mahershala Ali's Blade/Moon Knight.

Blade has become something of an odd topic of discussion for Marvel fans. For a brief, horrifying moment in 2017, it seemed like The Mummy franchise had been buried for good, sarcophagus slammed shut, cursed, and yeeted into the abyss of cinematic letdowns. Tom Cruise’s ill-fated reboot of the beloved action-horror adventure was meant to launch an ambitious Dark Universe of classic monster flicks.

Instead, it crash-landed with all the grace of a collapsing pyramid. Critics winced. Fans mourned. Brendan Fraser’s stans rightfully rioted. Like Imhotep rising from the desert sands, hope has returned, and it has two names, May Calamawy and May Elghety. Egyptian and Egyptian-Palestinian actresses leading a Mummy remake? Say less.

Suddenly, the idea of rebooting the franchise no longer feels like Hollywood trying to sell sand to Cairo. Someone, somewhere, has finally rolled the ancient dice and summoned an actual Egyptian cast for a movie about, wait for it, ancient Egypt.

Timothée Chalamet has become a very big deal over the last decade or so. With two Academy Award nominations and an ever-expanding list of excellent movies under his belt, the actor has flaunted his talent in a vast array of roles that range from playing Bob Dylan in "A Complete Unknown" (2024) to starring as Paul Atreides in Denis Villeneuve's "Dune" movies and following Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp in portraying eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka in "Wonka" (2023). That's a lot, especially from a young actor who seems destined to turn in great roles for many decades to come.

Any one of Chalamet's best movies is a great way for a movie fan to spend a couple of hours glued to their seat. However, few prolific actors can maintain a perfect win record throughout their career, and even one as wildly successful as Chalamet has a few less than beloved films in his CV.

After being unceremoniously cut out of Gladiator II, MCU star May Calamawy is now getting the chance at the spotlight in New Line Cinema's upcoming reimagining of The Mummy. Evil Dead Rise director Lee Cronin is set to helm The Mummy, a new take on the iconic movie monster that has no relation to the previous Universal Monster franchises. Filming is currently underway in Ireland and Spain, and the film is set for release on Apr. 17, 2026.

Deadline reports that May Calamawy has joined the cast of The Mummy. Calamawy previously played Layla El-Faouly / Scarlet Scarab in Moon Knight. The cast of Lee Cronin's The Mummy continues to expand. Moon Knight star May Calamawy is one of three new actors to board the hotly-anticipated Blumhouse horror movie.

According to Deadline, Veronica Falcón and May Elghety have also been cast in The Mummy. The actors join previously announced cast members Jack Reynor and Laia Costa, who are believed to be playing a married couple who run afoul of supernaturally sinister forces. Production is currently underway in Ireland and Spain on The Mummy, which is being produced by Atomic Monster and Blumhouse for New Line Cinema.

The upcoming Mummy film from Blumhouse, Atomic Monster, and New Line Cinema has added three talented actresses to its cast: Veronica Falcón, May Calamawy, and May Elghety. They join previously announced cast members Jack Reynor and Laia Costa. The movie is currently being filmed in Ireland and Spain.

Plot details are being kept secret, but it is known to be a new take on the Mummy story, with a tomb likely involved. The film is produced by James Wan’s Atomic Monster and Jason Blum’s Blumhouse, with John Croinin producing under his Doppelgängers banner.

Veronica Falcón, known for her roles in Imaginary and The Forever Purge, has also appeared in Jungle Cruise with Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson. She is recognized for her TV roles in Queen of the South, Ozark, and Perry Mason.

May Calamawy gained fame as Scarlet Scarab in Marvel’s Moon Knight and also stars in Hulu’s Ramy.

May Calamawy (“Moon Knight”), Veronica Falcón (“Ozark”), and May Elghety (Clash) have been cast in Lee Cronin‘s The Mummy, Deadline reports.

They join the previously announced stars Jack Reynor (Midsommar) and Laia Costa (“The Wheel of Time”).

Cronin is directing from his own script. He’s reuniting with Evil Dead Rise director of photography David Garbett.

Production is currently underway in Ireland and Spain on the fresh take on the classic monster, which will open on April 17, 2026 via Warner Bros.

Moon Knight actor Oscar Isaac backed out of an upcoming Star Wars appearance, leading some to believe his MCU character may be headed for Avengers: Doomsday. The news came from Star Wars Celebration's official X account, sharing that the Marvel and Star Wars star will no longer be able to appear at the upcoming fan event.

The post read that because of "changes in his production schedule," Isaac (who previously played the Resistance pilot Poe Dameron in the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy) would have to back out of the 2025 Star Wars convention, which is set to take place from April 18 to 20 in Tokyo Japan:

"Due to changes in his production schedule, Oscar Isaac is no longer able to attend Star Wars Celebration Japan. Leap Ticketing will email all customers who have purchased an autograph or photo op ticket for Oscar with options for you to exchange or refund your purchase.

Daredevil: Born Again has a stellar cast, which includes returning actors like Charlie Cox, along with some new faces like Margarita Levieva, who is essaying the role of Matt’s love interest, Heather Glenn.

Back in January of 2022, we heard that Insidious franchise creator James Wan was producing a “Back to the Future meets Aliens” project that was set to be written and directed by Jeremy Slater, creator of the The Exorcist television series and head writer on the Marvel / Disney+ show Moon Knight. As the Wan / Blumhouse collaboration Insidious: The Red Door, the fifth film in that series, made its way out into the world last year, it was revealed that Slater’s movie was a spin-off called Thread: An Insidious Tale, which had Mandy Moore (This Is Us) and Kumail Nanjiani (Eternals) on board to star in it. That movie never seemed to go into production, but last year Sony announced an August 29, 2025 release date for the next Insidious movie – not Thread, but Insidious 6. Sony will be releasing Cregger’s Resident Evil movie on September 18, 2026, and it was recently revealed that Austin Abrams of Euphoria, who worked with Cregger on his upcoming film Weapons, is in early talks to star in the film. Marvel Television is finally giving Charlie Cox's Daredevil suit the Dd chest emblem. New set photos from Daredevil: Born Again have emerged, revealing the new black suit that the Man Without Fear will don in the upcoming Season 2.

Shared on X by MCU Report, the six Born Again Season 2 set photos feature Cox's Matt Murdock in a variety of positions while suited up in the new black Daredevil suit. However, a closer look at the set photos seems to reveal that the Season 2 suit is actually the current red Daredevil suit spray-painted black, as bits of red can be seen poking through the black. The Dd chest emblem is also the same color red as the suit Murdock can be seen wearing in Season 1 of the Disney+ continuation. Check out the Season 2 set photos below.
