Krysten Ritter played Jessica with biting nuance, and the character carved out a gritty corner for herself in the Marvel Universe on her own Netflix show. Her story wasn’t exactly about saving the world, but surviving it. And now that Marvel Studios has expanded its multiverse, Jessica is back, and not just anywhere, but in Daredevil: Born Again!

Tony Gilroy is coming off a brilliant run on Andor, which recently concluded its second and final season. While the series might’ve lasted for only 24 episodes, Gilroy has been associated with the Star Wars universe for almost a decade at this point. Hence, it is safe to say the writer-director understands the finer details of what makes these big-budget franchises work.
During a recent interview where Gilroy did a post-mortem of his run on Andor, the showrunner reflected on the Marvel school of thought on storytelling. While discussing a plot point from his series, Gilroy cited one of the Avengers movies and underlined why they have been failing recently. Here is what Gilroy had to say about the failure of Marvel movies.

After playing a powerful witch in the MCU for the past few years, Elizabeth Olsen is set to don a pair of fangs as a mysterious vampire in Flesh of the Gods.
Fans had been waiting for news on Panos Cosmatos' next project since 2018's surreal masterpiece, Mandy, and last year, we got word that the filmmaker has enlisted a couple of A-list stars for what sounds like an intriguing horror thriller.
Kristen Stewart and Oscar Isaac are to play the leads in the movie, which is decribed as a vampire thriller set in Los Angeles "during the glittering 1980s," and Deadline reports that Olsen will be joining them.
The story outline reads: "Raoul and Alex, a married couple in glittering ’80s L.A. who descend each evening from their luxury skyscraper condo and head into an electric nighttime realm. When they cross paths with the mysterious and enigmatic Nameless (Olsen) and her hard-partying cabal,...

When Disney+ launched, the pressure was on Marvel Studios to help shore up the House of Mouse's streaming catalogue. That quantity over quality approach hasn't benefited the Multiverse Saga, but there have still been some great streaming series.
WandaVision, for example, worked so much better on television than it would have done in theaters. Now, though, Marvel Television is taking a new approach, focusing on multi-season shows like Daredevil: Born Again and stories with fewer connections to the movies.
That's not necessarily a bad thing, but there are a handful of MCU TV shows that shouldn't be forgotten; heck, they deserve new seasons, and the handful we think Marvel Studios should revisit are the focus of this feature.
To find out which of them has made the cut, you just need to whack that "Next"/"View List" button below.

“Daredevil: Born Again” star Charlie Cox revealed his least favorite episode of the Disney+ series’ first season — and it is not the one Marvel fans might expect.
In an interview published Tuesday with The Playlist, Cox revealed that the one episode of “Daredevil: Born Again” Season 1 that remained untouched after the series’ well-publicized creative overhaul was its fifth installment, “With Interest.” The episode follows Cox’s Matt Murdock as he stops a New York City bank heist and, in the process of doing so, saves Yusuf Khan (Mohan Kapur), the father of “Ms. Marvel” hero Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani).
“There was one episode we didn’t change at all. It’s the episode in the bank [“With Interest”], and that was part of the original [shoot],” Cox told The Playlist. “Just for my money, I wasn’t into it. I didn’t like it. It was my least favorite of the episodes, and...

"Thunderbolts*" is a huge, pleasant surprise. A fun, yet mature Marvel movie, a rare superhero movie that actually has something to say, with an emotional gut punch of a story about mental health. Ever since "Avengers: Endgame," the Marvel Cinematic Universe has felt aimless, like DC after "Justice League" but without as much experimentation. Sure, the TV shows did explore different tones with varying degrees of success, but the movies started to feel more cookie-cutter than ever (with a couple of exceptions).
This is why "Thunderbolts*" feels so refreshing, because it looks back at what has always worked best with Marvel movies, namely the team dynamics, while trying something new like having the third act essentially pull a "Neon Genesis Evangelion" finale by trading a fisticuff climax for an introspective therapy session inside a depressed character's head (while the outside world faces annihilation).

This post contains Spoilers for Thunderbolts*A Marvel fan illustrates what a Thunderbolts* and Moon Knight crossover could look like if Lewis Pullman's Robert Reynolds and Oscar Isaac's Steven Grant met in the MCU. Thunderbolts* drops a few subtle references at previous MCU titles, but the biggest nod to other MCU characters comes in Thunderbolts*' post-credits scene, which reveals that the New Avengers are being sued by Sam Wilson's official Avengers team. The New Avengers are set to cross paths with other heroes sooner rather than later, as they're all confirmed to return in Avengers: Doomsday.

Spoiler Alert: This story discusses major plot developments, including the ending, of Marvel Studios’ “Thunderbolts*,” currently playing in theaters.
The climactic battle in “Thunderbolts*” is unlike any other Marvel Studios movie in its 17 year history. Throughout the film, whenever members of the titular ad-hoc antihero team come into physical contact with Bob Reynolds (Lewis Pullman), they find themselves suddenly sucked inside the memory of one of their greatest shames. For Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), it’s when she lured her friend to her death as her first test for the Red Room. For John Walker (Wyatt Russell), it’s sniping at his wife and neglecting his crying son in the aftermath of his disgrace during the events of 2021’s “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” For Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), it’s witnessing her father’s murder as a young girl.

Zsófia Szemerédy, formerly International Manager at BAFTA’s environmentally-focused arm Albert, has launched Leverage Point Entertainment (Lpe). Her London- and Budapest-based boutique sustainability agency aims to close space between artistic vision and environmental responsibility in film, TV, commercial and entertainment production.
Szemerédy said it was aiming to “help the industry see sustainability not as a constraint, but as a creative force.”
As such, Lpe will seek to help creatives and production companies find their ‘leverage point’ for change by building sustainability considerations into storytelling and budgets. It will help with decarbonization strategies, and work with companies to revise their slates and policies around long-term sustainability practices.
Among other services, Lpe will help embed sustainability values in scripts through consultations, and provide training, panels and courses to up-skill industry works. It will also help with building sustainable elements...

It might’ve taken seven years to get there, but finally, Charlie Cox has been able to continue his legacy as Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Following the unceremonious cancellation of Netflix’s Daredevil series and the rest of the ‘Defenders’ shows, fans were left twiddling their thumbs and waiting for the rights to expire to see whether any of the old guard would leap into the MCU. Our prayers were answered when the Man Without Fear finally popped up in Spider-Man: No Way Home, with beefed-up appearances in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Echo. Although 2021’s Hawkeye sowed the seeds of a full Daredevil revival, we had to wait until March 2025 for Daredevil: Born Again to be born again.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Directors on Their Successful Series Revamp and Season 2’s “Resistance Tale”

[This story contains spoilers for Daredevil: Born Again season one.]
Whenever a production has to use the phrase “creative overhaul,” one would assume that the battle lines have been drawn between incoming and existing creative teams. But that scenario couldn’t be further from the truth in the case of the Daredevil: Born Again directors: Justin Benson, Aaron Moorhead, Michael Cuesta, Jeffrey Nachmanoff and David Boyd. Their unified aim was to simply create a satisfying follow-up for the fans of the preceding Daredevil series, including lead actors Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio.
The original Drew Goddard-created Daredevil series streamed on Netflix from 2015 to 2018, and on the heels of Marvel announcing Daredevil: Born Again in 2022, the previous three seasons starring Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin transitioned to Disney+. This might be a result of a series of big and small screen flops Disney had to endure in the post-Avengers: Endgame era, but it signals a new horizon in terms of storytelling. And some other characters who...

It's no secret that the role of Wonder Woman is one of the most coveted in Hollywood, and it seems another talented actress has thrown her hat (or perhaps tiara?) into the ring.
It seems Egyptian-Palestinian actress May Calamawy, can be counted among the many Hollywood stars who would likely jump at the chance to don the legendary god-forged Bracelets of Submission.
The revelation came recently at Comic-Con France, where Calamawy was a special guest. During a fan Q&a session, she was directly asked about her interest in portraying the Princess of Themyscira.
"If they want me to play Wonder Woman, I’ll play Wonder Woman," shared Calamawy.
She also added that she hasn't seen Gal Gadot's performance, only catching a few snippets of Wonder Woman 1984.
“I wouldn’t want to take anything from [Gadot’s] or, like, anyone else’s performance,” she said. “…I don’t even know, I...

It was a surprisingly packed weekend at the box office, despite the fact that the previous weekend's champion, "A Minecraft Movie," managed to repeat atop the charts with another $80 million under its belt. At the same time, we had a handful of new movies opening this weekend including A24's war drama "Warfare," Rami Malek's action-thriller "The Amateur," and Blumhouse's new horror/thriller "Drop." However, it was an animated, faith-based movie starring Oscar Isaac that came out on top of the rest of the weekend's newcomers.
Angel Studios' "The King of Kings," an animated retelling of the story of Jesus based loosely on Charles Dickens' "The Life of Our Lord," opened to a bigger-than-expected $19.3 million domestically. That came very close to challenging "Sound of Freedom" ($19.6 million) for Angel's biggest opening weekend to date. That movie went on to become a word-of-mouth sensation, pulling in nearly $185 million domestically and more than $250 million globally.

Marvel Studios' Moon Knight premiered on Disney+ in 2022 and, unfortunately, was largely overshadowed during what proved to be another jam-packed year for the MCU both in theaters and on streaming.
The series, while not perfect, received a largely positive response, but the character hasn't been seen since.
Doing press for Moon Knight, lead star Oscar Isaac confirmed on multiple occasions that he only signed up for a single season, meaning a new deal will need to be negotiated if the story of Marc Spector/Steven Grant/Jake Lockley is to continue.
There are rumblings that Isaac is being lined up to reprise the role in Avengers: Doomsday, but what of Layla Abdallah El-Faouly, a.k.a. the Scarlet Scarab?
May Calamawy recently appeared at Comic-Con France, and according to a fan who attended a panel with the Moon Knight star, she strongly hinted that something is in the works for...

We’ve had heroes. We’ve had villains. We’ve had morally ambiguous wizards who accidentally break the multiverse because they didn’t want to say goodbye to their girlfriends. But what have we been seriously missing lately? Unhinged, unpredictable, anti-heroes.
Marvel’s upcoming Thunderbolts* film is shaping up to be a delicious buffet of that chaos, featuring a squad of slightly less homicidal baddies. We’re talking Red Guardian, Bucky, Yelena, Ghost, and people who’ve probably been kicked out of a group chat at some point.

But we have a spicy little pitch. A wildcard. A skull-wearing vigilante with zero chill and a very large gun collection. Yes, Thunderbolts* needs to bring in one particular anti-hero who’s been lurking in the shadows for too long. Let’s dive into this wishful casting and...

Marvel Zombies was first announced at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2022 as part of a splashy "Marvel Animation" slate reveal. Things went quiet after that, though it's since been confirmed that the four-episode series will premiere on Disney+ on October 3, later this year.
While the concept originated in the comics, it wasn't until What If...? season 1 that Marvel Studios finally put the spotlight on undead superheroes. In an episode titled "What If... Zombies?!" we watched as several fan-favourite heroes, including Spider-Man, fought off a whole host of undead fan-favourites.
Marvel Zombies will serve as a sequel to that, and the What If...? series finale offered a glimpse at one of the Variants expected to take centre stage in the story: Mahershala Ali's Blade/Moon Knight.
While the Oscar winner had a brief voice cameo in 2021's Eternals, the Daywalker's solo movie remains stuck in limbo after being announced...

Blade has become something of an odd topic of discussion for Marvel fans. It was confirmed back in 2019 that the Daywalker was finally set to make his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in his own self-titled movie, with Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali playing the role, but the project has yet to materialize. What's worse is that the project is no longer set to be a part of the Multiverse Saga, which wraps up next year with Avengers: Secret Wars, meaning that it probably won't arrive in movie theaters until 2028 at the earliest.
There have been updates, both good and bad, in that time but very little actual movement, as fans thought that Marvel Studios might end up cancelling the film. Heck, a number of reports claimed that this may be an inevitability, especially after it was taken off the release calendar after seemingly aiming for an October 2025 release.

For a brief, horrifying moment in 2017, it seemed like The Mummy franchise had been buried for good, sarcophagus slammed shut, cursed, and yeeted into the abyss of cinematic letdowns. Tom Cruise’s ill-fated reboot of the beloved action-horror adventure was meant to launch an ambitious Dark Universe of classic monster flicks.
Instead, it crash-landed with all the grace of a collapsing pyramid. Critics winced. Fans mourned. Brendan Fraser’s stans rightfully rioted. Like Imhotep rising from the desert sands, hope has returned, and it has two names, May Calamawy and May Elghety. Egyptian and Egyptian-Palestinian actresses leading a Mummy remake? Say less.

Suddenly, the idea of rebooting the franchise no longer feels like Hollywood trying to sell sand to Cairo. Someone, somewhere, has finally rolled the ancient dice and summoned an actual Egyptian cast for a movie about, wait for it, ancient Egypt.

Timothée Chalamet has become a very big deal over the last decade or so. With two Academy Award nominations and an ever-expanding list of excellent movies under his belt, the actor has flaunted his talent in a vast array of roles that range from playing Bob Dylan in "A Complete Unknown" (2024) to starring as Paul Atreides in Denis Villeneuve's "Dune" movies and following Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp in portraying eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka in "Wonka" (2023). That's a lot, especially from a young actor who seems destined to turn in great roles for many decades to come.
Any one of Chalamet's best movies is a great way for a movie fan to spend a couple of hours glued to their seat. However, few prolific actors can maintain a perfect win record throughout their career, and even one as wildly successful as Chalamet has a few less than beloved films in his CV.

Moon Knight actor Oscar Isaac backed out of an upcoming Star Wars appearance, leading some to believe his MCU character may be headed for Avengers: Doomsday. The news came from Star Wars Celebration's official X account, sharing that the Marvel and Star Wars star will no longer be able to appear at the upcoming fan event.
The post read that because of "changes in his production schedule," Isaac (who previously played the Resistance pilot Poe Dameron in the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy) would have to back out of the 2025 Star Wars convention, which is set to take place from April 18 to 20 in Tokyo Japan:
"Due to changes in his production schedule, Oscar Isaac is no longer able to attend Star Wars Celebration Japan. Leap Ticketing will email all customers who have purchased an autograph or photo op ticket for Oscar with options for you to exchange or refund your purchase.

Daredevil: Born Again has a stellar cast, which includes returning actors like Charlie Cox, along with some new faces like Margarita Levieva, who is essaying the role of Matt’s love interest, Heather Glenn.

Back in January of 2022, we heard that Insidious franchise creator James Wan was producing a “Back to the Future meets Aliens” project that was set to be written and directed by Jeremy Slater, creator of the The Exorcist television series and head writer on the Marvel / Disney+ show Moon Knight. As the Wan / Blumhouse collaboration Insidious: The Red Door, the fifth film in that series, made its way out into the world last year, it was revealed that Slater’s movie was a spin-off called Thread: An Insidious Tale, which had Mandy Moore (This Is Us) and Kumail Nanjiani (Eternals) on board to star in it. That movie never seemed to go into production, but last year Sony announced an August 29, 2025 release date for the next Insidious movie – not Thread, but Insidious 6. That project hasn’t gone into production yet, either. So it wasn’t a surprise to hear that...

Marvel Television is finally giving Charlie Cox's Daredevil suit the Dd chest emblem. New set photos from Daredevil: Born Again have emerged, revealing the new black suit that the Man Without Fear will don in the upcoming Season 2.
Shared on X by MCU Report, the six Born Again Season 2 set photos feature Cox's Matt Murdock in a variety of positions while suited up in the new black Daredevil suit. However, a closer look at the set photos seems to reveal that the Season 2 suit is actually the current red Daredevil suit spray-painted black, as bits of red can be seen poking through the black. The Dd chest emblem is also the same color red as the suit Murdock can be seen wearing in Season 1 of the Disney+ continuation. Check out the Season 2 set photos below.

Marvel Rivals has established itself as the top dog of the hero-shooter genre. Gamers can face off against each other using a large roster of iconic Marvel characters to play as. It’s been a successful and profitable game since its launch.

One of the major reasons why Marvel Rivals has triumphed over its competitors is because of NetEase Games. Now, another update to solve Human Torch’s accuracy bug is coming, but that still won’t be enough.

The nine episode first season of the Marvel series Daredevil: Born Again just made its premiere on Disney+ earlier this month (you can read our review Here), and we’re already closing in on the end of the run, as the fifth and sixth episodes dropped onto the streaming service yesterday. Although the initial plan was to rework some elements and make Daredevil: Born Again stand separate from the Netflix Daredevil series (despite sharing some cast members), the show underwent a creative overhaul when the writers and actors strikes shut down production in 2023. Now, this series is a direct follow-up to the Netflix series, picking up five years later… and it has been revealed that episode 5 was the only one that was “completely untouched” by the creative overhaul!

One of the most intriguing villains to come out of Daredevil: Born Again is none other than Muse, a new addition to Daredevil’s list of villains. Along with Wilson Fisk and Benjamin Poindexter, the trifecta of villains is definitely working towards making Matt Murdock’s life hell in more ways than one.

However, a theory suggests that Muse is going to be a bane for Wilson Fisk as well, which has been strengthened by some comments made by showrunner Dario Scardapane. Not only has it revealed Muse’s role for this season, but also for the season to come.
