The killers who will not be killed....
theroscoevine13 April 2019
Fun one. Good times. It's obviously low- to no-budget, and most definitely a family affair, but it offers a great deal in terms of quality horror action, and at a great price, being a free fan made film on YouTube. I liked it very much and the closing line suggesting the possibility of a sequel was a welcome sight, assuming that the Pedder family has another $5,000 lying around......

Eventually the jason and myers franchise will come to an end. Might as well give fans what they been wanting to see. After all, the fans are doin it themselves...so just do it! Make a jason vs michael myers movie. If we can do king kong vs godzilla, we can do this. Smh

All you can hope for in a fan film

Warning: Spoilers
"Michael vs Jason: Evil Emerges" is a title that makes it obvious for everybody with just a little ounce of interest in horror films that this one features the iconic Mike Myers and Jason Voorhees. It is a really new movie released back in April 2019 and it scored about 10 million views in 6 months and now stands at over 12. Really impressive. It is an Australian movie in the English language, although thanks to the muteness of the two characters there is hardly no speaking in here, only we hear voices every time when the duo runs into humans and also at the very end the voice in Jason's head. The name of the production company is "Radical Talent" and this sound accurate to me. The outcome here is definitely showing some nice talent. Still I don't like it when filmmakers keep rambling on Youtube that they had no money really doing this already looking for an early excuse. We know of course this is not a 20th Century Fox film and if you already use some really famous characters to propel the popularity of your film, then don't put yourself down right from the start. You owe it these characters to deliver quality. And this film here did, so there is really no reason for apologizing whatsoever. The writer and director is Luke Pedder and looking at how often the name Pedder shows up here, it is clearly a family affair and they did not cast too many other actors. For example the two central characters are also played by Pedders and the director is not one of them. Would have been difficult to direct anyway with such heavy make-up/costume. Okay as for the story, it is not too much for almost half an hour, but that is okay. Early on we have a scene when Myers is in custody, but quickly gets away of course and kills everybody. Except one and when he follows that one, their leader, he meets Jason for the first time because Jason is the one who ends up killing him. In the second half at some point a family of hillbilly property owners show up too and they are not exactly in the right place at the right time gently-speaking. Then the fight between Mike and Jason continues. It's a lot of fighting as both seem almost immortal looking at the damage done and how they stand up each and every time again. And this also includes the very end when you think it is over, but nope. The last shot indicates there could be a sequel and looking at the film's popularity it is bound to happen rather sooner than later. I just wonder what they will do. They cannot basically make another half hour that is two thirds fighting between the duo, but real side stories also would not fit. So surprise me guys. I liked this first here, the fight sequences were entertaining thanks to the different locations, different gadgets and the changing in terms of who has the upper hand. I am rather Team Mike Myers, so I did not like the outcome too much, but yeah like I said. Even with one hand gone, this is apparently far from over. I just wonder how they could live through all that, especially Myers, because there is blood circulation going on. And as a consequence lots of bloodshed and also very violent sequences in the sense of we see throats being cut, so not a film for your kids. But hey what to expect, it is horror of course and if you have seen any of the big blockbuster movies these characters are from, then you will not being your 10yo. But you should watch it. I am not a huge fan of the franchises featured in here, but I still liked it overall. Thumbs up. Definitely one of the best fan films of the 2010s and actually better than many big budget movies.

Great fan film!

Not sure what the people who gave this low scores were expecting of a fan film. It's a lot of fun and a must for fans of either franchise.

Very, very well done...

Warning: Spoilers
This Australian fan made short tells the story of a group of soldiers who have captured Michael Myers and are under orders to take him into the woods and kill him.

In these woods lays a dormant Jason Voorhees who is awakened by him 'mommy' via the usual way of a ghostly voice telling him to wake up (bit like in Freddy vs Jason).

Once Michael breaks free (as per usual) he follows the last soldier into said woods to kill him but Jason gets to him first.

This pisses Michael off and all hell breaks loose.

This is an extremely well made fan film with a budget of around $5000. Yes the acting in some places is average and the actions of some people are questionable but what makes up for these minor quibbles is the sheer brutality of this 29 minute short.

The two actors playing Michael (John Pedder) and Jason (Joshua Pedder) do an outstanding job.

The effects are well above average and the music and directing are very, very well done.

Ever wanted to see Jason headbutt Michael? You will in this.

The sheer violence that is portrayed by both of our masked villains is outstanding. There's fists, feet, heads and machetes and knives flying all over the place.

If you're a fan of either of the unstoppable killers then this is for you.

Personally I much prefer the Friday the 13th movies and have never been a big fan of the Halloween franchise (I've seen them all and I do enjoy them but they don't warrant repeated viewing like the Friday movies do, IMO).

If you have a spare half an hour then you could do a lot worse than this short.

It promises a sequel and I for one can't wait.

Well worth a view.

Better than any "Friday The 13th" movie

Warning: Spoilers
This is a low budget fan film, although I highly doubt there was literally no budget. Just to celebrate Halloween, I took a look at every part of this. The beginning focuses mostly on Michael Myers. Unlike "Freddy Vs. Jason", I like how they both manage to get in a good number of kills. I know it can be hard dealing with a crossover where both main characters don't talk. Hey, it worked with "Godzilla Vs. Kong".

The setup is nice as it features Michael about to be executed, with even a photo of Laurie Strode and Jason's mother compelling him for references to other characters in either franchise. This focused less on minor characters making dumb decisions, which is always good for a horror movie. This looked quite good, with probably the bullet effects being the weakest points. Given their strengths, it makes perfect sense for Jason to win. I still think they handled this fight realistically. This just assumes Michael is in fact a supernatural being liked one of the many bad movies in his series revealed him to be. ***

Great fan film - rivals some of the official ones
oknight-138354 November 2021
This was an incredible short fan film. I loved the cinematography and the sound effects were amazing. You managed to perfectly capture both iconic characters and their menacing tones. Extremely well done, especially for the budget. My only complaint would be some small scenes with poor acting. Other than that, it's incredible! Highly recommend it!
