While this is I'm sure billed as a family friendly romance, it has bad acting, writing, directing, "soundtrack" (songs), costumes, and hair/makeup.
Perhaps its geared for a much younger tween/teen audience, I highly doubt it. The dialogue is stilted, the makeup is caked on, there are at least 4 cold-shoulder looks on one woman, I'm surprised the last scene didn't have one as well. And the wardrobe malfunctions are here too!
And this is the first movie I've scene where an Indian actor plays an NHL agent.
The houses are echo-y, in fact the best scenes are the skating ones... hairstyles are under hats, sometimes its a blizzard so no one can see, and the voice overs! Oh my. I'd say have plenty of wine or beers when watching this one.
And there's plenty of real life drama associated with this film, but google for a bit more on that.
All I can say is that this was free. I don't necessarily wish my time back, but now am planning on writing my own local (not-really a) Hallmark movie too!

I tried several times to write this review but it's really just that bad. The "acting" often consists of a person flatly reading their line then making an appropriate facial expression to show emotion. The audio is echoing and the lighting is uneven both obviously due to low production skills and not a broadcast problem. The makeup and hair look like they were done by a 14 year old girl who was probably the little sister of the 16 year old they hired as a director. I suspect the director only got the job because his high school production of Midsummer Night's Dream wasn't horrible.
This isn't even fun bad, it's uncomfortably, embarrassingly, and in some cases, rudely bad. If you feel the need to watch just to see this train wreck you'll see all you need to in the first 15 minutes.

Ive never written a review before, but this movie makes me keep shaking my head! I ended up on here just trying to figure out who in the heck made this nightmare! The acting....you can't even call it acting. It's reading. Its CRINGY! So freaking cringy! The make up is so horrible and when they had the opening scene as the two main characters in HS as a flashback and they just looked like a couple 38 year olds pretending....I should have known what the rest would look like. It's so awful. So unbelievably awful. Please don't watch it.

If I could give 1/2 a star I would. If you're looking for a god Christmas movie do not stop here. The makeup reminds me of the 1960's, the bad acting, bad makeup, clothes, hair....I could go on forever. The actresses are too old for the parts they are playing, The actress playing Allie,should have been the Mom. Lousy dialogue, characters, script. Save the frustration, drink the wine and watch something else. You will never get the time back you wasted watching this movie.

Wow... so.
The love triangle confused the garbage out of me. It was all over the place. The snow was massively CGI, the monitor wasn't even plugged in that the boss was using, they kept using the same overview shot of the city, the shooting style was really confusing and the scenes were so jumbled. Seriously the worst movie I have ever seen :/

Seriously, how do movies reach this level of awfulness? The plot is almost non-existent for 3/4 of the film, the dialogue is unrealistic and forced, the characters are boring and unlikeable.i literally couldn't tell the difference between the characters or knew what the hell was going on for half the film. It seems like the crew just cast every family member they could so they could appear in a movie. The film was also shot in multiple homes, which i assume to be those of the crew. It appeared that they would just film in whatever house was available at any given time because which character owned which house had no consistency. The main character doesn't seem to harbor any feelings for either of the love interests which is clearly due to bad acting more than the script. I have no other words for this film. It's just bad.

Let's watch a Christmas movie we said.... well mistakes where made. I think the most memorable part of this movie was my mom saying "is that Tim t-bo?" ( spoiler it wasn't) all of the actors look similar so you can never figure out what's going on, the acting was so terrible I'm still not sure what the emotions where supposed to be. Why is everyone getting engaged? Why did they drop one hint about his parents dieing? I thought her and the douchey boyfriend broke up and then 5 mins later they are engaged? The plot holes in this movie where bigger than the holes my armadillo digs in the back yard. 1 hour and 32 minutes of my life I will never ever get back... but also was it worth it ? Yes! 10/10 recommend watching this movie.

Someone owed somebody a favor when they shot this, and when they hired these actors! Was it shot on an iPhone? The choppy scenes, 5 second delay between saying a line, you can almost see them counting in their heads before telling themselves to lean in for a kiss. These "actors" move like they know they are on camera and are suppose to act like it doesn't exist, but they do! I felt like I was watching SNL with a guest host looking off screen to read the cue cards! Just atrocious!

I was originally looking for a nice, simple holiday film for the entertainment of my family. I failed with this one. The described plot seemed decent enough and the question of "what was the Christmas coupon" caught my eye. After watching it, that question was still barely answered and had little relevance to the whole movie. But first, let's delve into the characters.
The main character sucked. She had no class, no interesting things about her, brought no depth or respect, not even mentioning the fact that she had a perpetual deadly sneer and two lazy eyes. I think a better title would be "if looks could kill." And personality? Next to none, and what little there was was unlikeable. Her acting was atrocious and should've been replaced as the main character by the only slightly awful acting from her sister. Next up on the plate: Bobby. Who is Bobby? And why is he and his meatballish appearance starring? He was a stereotypical jerk with no other dimension and extremely jealous, easily triggered by the main character, Alison, and her former high school sweetheart literally skating. That's it. The former high school sweetheart was a total ditz, as expected, but slightly more likable than the rest. The rest aren't worth mentioning, but all were bad actors.
Next up, the plot. It also sucked. It was comparable to a cheap porno that never actually went anywhere and was wholly unsatisfying. I wanted to think of Christmas in a better light, but this movie totally changed that, for the worst. I also have never skated since watching.
As a whole, bad, unlikeable characters you don't want to root for, flagrantly awful acting, and not airtight (open-aired plot) that was completely predictable and boring.
Honorable Mention: the little girl in the turquoise jacket being subjected to awful skating lessons from the main character and comedically flailing throughout a few scenes. Good job.

I am not kidding. I laughed so hard at the reviews that it made the movie worth my time.
Seriously. So terrible. It is quite possibly the worst movie I have EVER seen, and I like the cheesy movies. How did the actors themselves not realize this and quit before it was finished? Also, What kind of Christian movie promotes an abusive fiance? DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!

It's sweet. The soundtrack is cheesy but I dont mind it. The main love interest being a love triangle is kind of cheesy but I'm okay with it.
It takes itself very seriously. The white elephant scene was so dry and tense lol. I can't tell if it was supposed to be comedy or drama.
I'm watching a Christmas movie alone in the hospital fighting COVID. Frankly it's just nice to have a happy moment.

I'd love to know what the real life drama was, associated with this movie, according to another reviewer, Endeavorsgirl. This is an independent type movie and not associated with Hallmark. I don't understand why she is concerned with Hallmark when this is not titled "a Hallmark production ". Yes the acting was a bit stilted, but I would rather watch this than some multi billionaire actor's overpriced garbage in a theater. The story is nice and it is Family Friendly. Sorry if no sex or drugs scares you away from a CHRISTMAS themed movie.

This was a cute feelgood warm xmas movie in my opinion. The casting and acting was not bad but kudos especailly to the police chief, the actor that played the male co-owner of the diner as well as Santa Claus. These actors stood out with their exemplary acting and mannerisms and hope they grow and get noticed in the future. Although I respect the director and his connections, not really sure how true or real having a south indian actor play the agent of a northern midwestern hockey lad fits in.... I am sure it was all well intentioned however the accent and role just did not seem to fit. Indians do not play hockey nor do they usually represent athletes without being a native speaker. Nonetheless the actor portraying the agent is an incredible talent in South India and hope he will do more relevant fitting roles in Hollywood in the near future.
