Puzzle

There are several allusions to Jurassic Park in this episode. Two of the earlier victims are named Denis Nédry and Alain Grant (Dennis Nedry was the name of one of the programmers in Jurassic Park, played by Wayne Knight; Alan Grant was the paleontologist played by Sam Neill). One of the suspects is named Yann Malcolm (Ian Malcolm was the Chaotician played by Jeff Goldblum). At one point Raphaëlle is also heard on the phone trying to locate a Dr Thierry Rex (T-Rex).

Astrid is first shown before her identity is revealed, in the opening, with the camera focused on her hands as she solves some metal sculpture puzzles. She is shown three times in the first 2.5 minutes of the episode. All three show her hands, but two show the collars of her shirt and sweater. This is the one and only time in the series that her shirt collar is not folded neatly outside and over her sweater. As is noted elsewhere, Astrid, who is autistic, always wears the exact same outfit, and always in the same way, with just a variance in the colors.
