This has proven to be a gem of a series.

The relationship between Jake and Max starts to fall apart, the ties that bind them are beginning to break. Worse for Max, he learns exactly who he's working for, Roy Lynch.

A real progression, the early episodes by comparison were light, and fairly amusing, this has taken on a much more grown up, dramatic even violent turn.

I am such a fan of Bill Patterson, he's often so amiable, so genteel in his roles, he's a man of many talents, making Roy something very nasty. A mention for Sian Brooke, she has added some emotional depth with Claire, notable for playing Sherlock's sister.
