Man vs Cheese
anhor-2097614 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I wouldn't go as far as saying this is a good movie but the action part kept me interested. Its rather predictable and slow in the beginning. I do know it was a very low budget film but The script was a little cheesy and the acting was mediocre at best. I do like the lead actor David Ford and I have seen another movie with the same subject that he started in so I kept watching.... I suppose it had a good theme/ moral and ending but really how many times can you fall in the woods and injure yourself badly yet still get up and move? I'm glad the lead actor didn't kill the big foot and her baby. .

You know what to expect when you see the title

They could have came up with a better name for this movie but they didn't.. the acting is not great it's kind of slow in some spots.. I don't even know if these people are actors. But I guess you work with what you got. It's watchable if you have nothing else to do or look at. Location is beautiful if you like national parks that's why I gave it a three. I don't like the woods.. I know what's in the woods.. like I said it's not a great movie but it is watchable. The Bigfoot in this is not that bad..

Bigfoot vs Biggut
bitbucketchip16 September 2021
Here's the story:

1. A seriously out of shape man leaves the all-you-can-eat buffet and hikes ten miles out into the wilderness.

2. Shockingly, he experiences crystal clear cell phone reception when calling his wife.

3. Something involving Bigfoot.

4. Or not. The acting is unclear.

5. The End.

Can I give this something other than stars?

The Title Alone Says it All

I mean if you have any questions after reading the title, well.... you get what you asked for.

Man vs. Bigfoot? Really?

How someone could sell this as a "Good Movie" to make absolutely blows my mind.

I guess the answer is the "People are idiots and will buy anything."

Avoid this.

Guy has women's luck !
bigtonynismo17 April 2023
Great comedy film, don't know what film the other reviewers watched ? I saw a hilarious comedy, the acting is so bad, the plot line sucks, and like every so called horror movie where the woman trips over nothing, so does the lead character here. The other main character is ok, but the rest let the movie down badly. If you don't mind losing a few brain cells, give this movie a go. Now hopefully your better prepared, you can sit back and mock this movie like I did. Does have a couple of good moments, like how useless the main character is, and how he should identify as a woman, cause he has all the luck of one in a standard horror movie !

Man vs Soundtrack
tmccull5226 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The fact that Bob Gimlin... yes, the Bob Gimlin from the famous Gimlin-Patterson video... makes an appearance in this movie was the main reason why I elected to watch it. It becomes crystal clear that this is a no-budget movie right from the start. Central casting must have been culled from the parking lot of a local Wal-Mart, and at first, I wondered why the film was dubbed, as the "actors" all seemed to be fluent or at least familiar with colloquial English. Then, I realized that the movie wasn't dubbed; the soundtrack and dialogue were out of synch with the images on the screen.

I am a fan of Bigfoot movies, even if genuinely good ones seem.yo be as rare and as rarely seen as the cryptic creature, itself. I even managed to sit all of the way through "White Fangs", which was one of the worst Bigfoot/horror movies in the history of horror movies, in general.

A man named Aaron Rollins ventures alone into the woods to enjoy the wonders of nature. He sees a bear and experiences the joy of the wilderness. In contrast to almost every other horror movie ever, Aaron has prefect cell phone service, even though he's in the middle of BFE. On the evening of his great wilderness adventure, he calls his wife to check in, and after hanging up with her, he begins to hear grunts, growls and strange noises all around him. He then meets with his apparent doom.

The next day, the local authorities, and Aaron's family and friends go out looking for him. They find one of the guns that he had taken with him, a revolver, and his cell phone. Aaron had recorded his last moments with the phone's video camera, and the search party reviews the footage. Heard in the last few seconds of the recording are several gunshots, fired by Aaron. There is neither sign nor trace of Aaron, his remains, nor any of his gear. Citing a shortage of manpower and resources, the local sheriff's department calls off the search for Aaron, but Jack, Aaron's younger brother, continues the search on his own, with the knowledge and consent of the Sheriff's Department.

In another departure from the usual idiotic decisions generally made in horror movies, Jack brings a sidearm with him; a semi-automatic pistol. Most people who foray into areas that they neither know or have any experience with do not bring guns with them in these movies, and they usually belittle or ridicule people who do choose to arm themselves.

"We're going into Werewolf Woods, the site of many, many gruesome murders. Why would you bring a gun?! We don't need a gun!"

While searching for Aaron, Jack stumbles upon an unarmed, friendly Native American tracker. The two men share company and a campfire, and Aaron tells the trapper about Aaron, and why he's in the woods. The trapper tells Jack not to get his hopes up, that Aaron was likely done in by the protector of the woods, a Bigfoot. The trapper then tells Jack of an incident that he had once witnessed; the killing of a Bigfoot by a hunter. The trapper tells of a second Bigfoot, who finds the body of the slain creature. From that point on, the trapper says, Bigfoot is out for revenge on anyone who is armed, and goes into the woods. Bigfoot, the trapper warns Jack, recognizes guns, and what they are used for.

The trapper gives Jack one last friendly admonition to leave the woods and go back home to his family. He also expresses his condolences about Aaron to Jack, and then he leaves. Jack is determined to find Aaron, or to at least find out what happened to him. He listened to the trappers story, but had expressed his skepticism about the existence of Bigfoot.

He spends the night in a tent, and there are noises all around him, but Jack is not unnerved by these noises. The next morning, he goes out to find some of his items missing. He again states that he does not believe in Bigfoot, and chalks the missing items up to someone just messing with him. He goes out searching for Aaron and finds Aaron's skull cap. Then he finds Bigfoot.

From there, the movie basically emulates the Arnold Schwarzenegger versus the Yaujta extraterrestrial sequences from the first "Predator" movie. This isn't the worst Bigfoot movie that I've ever seen, but it's far from the best.

Only for the Big Foot believers
cbodhinath31 August 2021
This is a movie for Big Foot fans and not for haters. A simple story which depicts the true stories we have heard about this creature or being. Almost all movies depict the Big Foot as a monster. But according to most stories it's not the case. The film makers have done a great job by making a film more realistic and believable for people who believe in Big Foot. Finally I am not an American and neither live in America but I believe in Big Foot and hence enjoyed the film.

Not your typical Bigfoot movie.
jeffstewart-844787 September 2021
This movie was created on a shoe string budget only if your shoes are velcro..We made this with funds from friends, family and out of our own pockets. I am the AD and SFX artist among 20 other jobs on set.

A good story and plot make this a good family friendly film with a good bit of excitement. The practical fx have been well reviewed and worth a look. The acting is above average and a stellar performance by David Ford makes the film.

If you watch it expecting a 30 million dollar budget blockbuster you will not be happy but if you watch it expecting to see a good film made on a micro budget by decent people giving honest decent acting and technical support you will love it.

Not bad at all
chipblock19 October 2021
As a fan of bigfoot movies, I can honestly say this one wasn't bad. The acting was OK, and the camera work good. Screeplay was simple and the premise believable. They covered all the bases to make it believable - satellite phone, decent emergency first aid, primitive weapon making and trap construction. The way things ended up was a nice twist. The only thing inconsistent with character was that an experienced outdoorsman (especially ex Army ranger) would never stick his knife or his axe in the ground after using it.

A movie for Bigfoot fans
tattoos-david31 July 2022
If your the guy/or gal that looks up every bigfoot video on YouTube , you'll like this.

It feels more like a made for Tv style movie, but it's pretty good . Actors seem more like middle class stand ins for seasoned actors , put that aside and have fun.

Appreciate it for what it is
bppjtvdy2 September 2021
If you leave this movie one star then you are just an hateful ahole. You have to appreciate this movie for what it is. As a Bigfoot movie fan, this is one of the best I've seen in a long time. Good lighting, good transitions, good story, some twists, good acting. Obviously a lot of work went into this movie on a low budget. Me and my son enjoyed it and as far as Bigfoot movies go, we give it a 10.

Really thought this was excellent...Loved it! Definitely buying this one for my Bigfoot movie collection. If I ever get to meet these guys at a convention, definitely gonna shake their hands and praise this movie. Bigfoot looked great, intense moments, decent acting. Highly recommended...can't say enough good things about this movie. The ending was unexpected and different from most Bigfoot movies.

Fun, smart, and scary bigfoot flick
mattyolsond27 November 2021
I really enjoyed this movie! Traumatized, brawny, resourceful hero goes into the beautiful Ouichita Nationak Forest in search of a missing person, and has a harrowing battle with a mysterious creature, which smartly uses tricks of the woods against the interloper. Chilling, suspenseful, and also moving film.

Honestly...Surprisingly Solid
jhgodawgs4 July 2022
I generally watch low budget movies because they make me laugh at how terrible they are. When I searched Bigfoot movies that's exactly what I was looking for. Surprisingly I thought the acting, costume, and especially camerawork were pretty good.

Obviously you can't compare independent films to blockbusters, so keep that in mind. It was actually quite refreshing to watch a film with actors that really seemed like they lived normal lives versus actors in a Hollywood movie who obviously enjoy a different lifestyle to most people. I thought the therapy session near the beginning was particularly solid and believable.

I can't say the plot was anything special, but it was clear and I wasn't bored. Also beautiful shots of the forrest given the budget the movie was filmed on. Nice job. I was pleasantly surprised.

MAN vs BIGFOOT
gwpetroski15 December 2021
David Ford is excellent. The story is fantastic and the acting above good. Plot was exciting and you didnt lose attention ,i disagree with the other reviwer saying that mr Ford is out of shape. It was grueling what he did and no one out of shape could do what he did. Hats off to David Ford for a absolutely cool movie. Hope to see him again in another adventure- GEORGE PETROSKI.

Stumbled upon it channel surfing tonight
furnacefuneral25 April 2023
Not sure why this has a 3.8 average here on IMDb considering a majority of these user reviews vary from 6 to 10 but whatever. Anyways. Born and raised in the pacific Northwest i'll admit I'm a little bias when it comes to anything bigfoot related. I'm not a squatcher nor do I howl and smack trees with baseball bats when when I go camping (which is very often, every season, spring, summer, fall, and winter) but I do believe in sasquatch. But when it comes to good movies I'm definstely not biased. If something is bad, I'll turn it off, theres nothing I hate more than wasting my time. So I flipped to this movie from the beginning, and it seemed decent so I kept watching, and 2 hours later it's over. Watched it all the way though which for me is VERY rare for me when it comes to these movies made on a 30 dollar budget. I was quite pleased. The story was good, the script was good, the acting was surprisingly good, the pace and editing were good, and the score/music were AMAZING Very dark, creepy, atmospheric. And it got me interested in the qua blah blah blah (cant remember how to spell it) national forest in Arkansas where this movie takes place. Seems like a really spooky national forest. I actually loved this movie and would probably put it in the top 3 of the bigfoot genre films.
