Awesome at its best, drags and falls apart at its worst
My overall rating of "Flight of the Conchords"'s Season 1: 5/10
So I must say that the highs of this episode are really, really high - it is hilarious, the songs are very interesting, the imaginativeness of it is through the roof and it also makes certain very clever and subtle social commentary on dating and the double standards therein.
However Murray's sideplot wasn't great, the episode occasionally didn't quite make sense (not in the least because while Bret's character is awesome and very relatable to me in this episode, absurd as it might seem with our current social standards, he is quite out-of-character relative to the rest of the episodes, I'd say).
The episode's worst segment is certainly Germaine's final conversation with Felicia, as it's not that funny to start off with, but there is also less than zero continuity, with Felicia essentially rolling the die on whether she appears in the next cut with 0, 1 or 2 headphones in, and their position in her hands, if any, throughout.
