Rumpus Media founders Emily Hudd and Iain Wimbush are exiting the company after 10 years, Variety understands.
Hudd and Wimbush founded Rumpus, which produces shows including “Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back” and “The Misadventures Of Romesh Ranganathan,” in 2013 before steering the ship as joint managing directors.
Rumpus is co-owned by Greenbird Media, who hold a 40% stake in the company. Earlier this year, Greenbird were acquired by Scottish media conglomerate Stv.
Hudd and Wimbush are understood to be planning to set up a new, independent venture which will likely launch next year.
Before co-founding Rumpus, Hudd was an exec producer at Discovery Networks International while Wimbush specialized in comedy entertainment, including a stint as head of development at Gallowgate, the production company owned by “I’m a Celebrity” hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.

The duo launched Rumpus in 2013 and have since turned it into one of the UK’s most prolific unscripted producers. Rumpus has developed talent relationships with the likes of Lycett and Romesh Ranganathan that have spawned multiple hits including Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back, Late Night Lycett and The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan.
