More like a premiere for the next season
midnightcub28 May 2021
Episode 14 wrapped it up PERFECTLY. This feels more like the beginning of the next season and indeed is continued there. I would mostly ignore this until you start season 2 and then start here.

still a good finale, but did feel a bit rushed though.

Warning: Spoilers
After the team learns the truth about the doctor, i didn't expect them to be that forgiving and move on that easily. A longer episode or another episode would have even a bit more appropriate. but still a pretty solid finale.

Errrrr, it's ok.
Not a 10. After last episode's climax, I expect for more than this. It is fun, as always, but less porwerful. Too much was stuck in an hour-long story. Mr. Nobody seems to be not so charming. Maybe I just got a little tired of all these. Still a good episode. Chief always has more secrets. Looking forward to the next season. Hope Mr. Nobody will return.

*That* is how you do a final episode
nickehsmith25 May 2019
I've never appreciated such a sustained assault on the 4th wall.

Not an aficionado of the graphic novels but I've developed a faith in DC for delivering novel and enjoyable TV. This was no exception... charming, touching, surreal and (as usual) hilarious. The episode's disruptive approach to traditional pacing also ultimately made it feel like a piece of two distinct halves allowing for even tighter storytelling (a rarity in an era of sprawling multi-seasonal shows).

Thanks to everyone who brought this and the whole season to fruition. Clint Mansell's work on the score also seems criminally underrated in the way it set such a contrastingly serious tone to the shows often ridiculous narrative.

Can't wait to see how it develops

This is the best timeline EVER!

Diane Guerrero deserves an Emmy nomination at the least!

Monologuing Mr Nobody keeps a tight grip on the plot and leads us down the proverbial garden path. His EEEEVIL narration recaps the series: Buddy would be proud.

You thought you already had the origin story? HAH! Like Ogres and Onions, the Patrol has LAYERS. Niles is forced to admit ulterior motives and to get deeper into the reason he brought them all together. Admiral Whiskers and Booger's Roach wreak havoc on Danny the Street while Morden runs around drinking straight from the bottle, as terrified as nobody can be.

So, why don't we wait for Super-duper Dude, BatMa'am and Mr Running Shoes to save the plot? Fuggedaboutit. This is the Patrol's show. The bad guys are DOOMED!

It was perfect but then...

Warning: Spoilers
-This episode can be describe in two main part: Characters driven (as always) and the part that I dont like that much Adventure.
  • The good: + Acting is amazing as always
+ The first 40 mins(character driven) was really good i even think they should invest a bit more to make it as ss final and left the daughter reveal to be the cliffhanger for ss2
  • The bad: Final act aka the adventure/final battle. This part I think you should watch and give your own opinion. It's weird and fun and have nearly everything that make the show good but I feel it was a bit rush or force. I still believe they should make the season final about how broken they are and but the reveal and request for help to tease for season 2 but idk maybe they will dig into broken aspect in the next season? Cause for me this ending that they give is a bit safe. The conclusion for story arc, no cliffhanger(in my opinion at least), a "happy" ending.
Ps the final "battle" :the CGI look really bad it i dont care about it that much, story is more important.

Ratatushi
ranpittjr11 May 2021
There is only 1 word to describe the finale, and that is Ratatushi. The series thrives on the weird, plots that don't entirely make sense, and then breaking the 4th wall to poke fun at the weird and plots that don't make sense. I think it could have been better, especially coming off a strong penultimate episode, but it is a show that embraces it, and it is on full display in the season one finale.

PS- I will forever be emotionally scared from Ratatushi 🐀

A wierd finale
imdbdc-0548513 November 2019
It was an unexpected final - good and bad;) I say bad because it is a final that is open and with this serie you only want more and more. You get to witness the wierdest final battle ever (interspecies). If you liked the donkey idea, you are going to like the scriptwriters solution to this episode. Hilarious as always. LoL

Weirdest finale i have ever watched and it wasn't that good after all
yousseftarek-0629124 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Well, i know that it is a sarcastic show and it is weird and i loved it. But, i couldn't get in the finale for multiple reasons: 1)all the episodes were weird and great; however, this one was silly.

2)No big bad fighting scene that should've wrapped this awesome show.

3)ezeikel and the rat's kiss was disgusting.

4)the cliffhanger wasn't exciting.

5)No new characters/team members have been introduced in the finale (which would hype most of the people to explore the new member's story). Unlike titans which introduced superboy.

6)CGI in this one was a bit off.

7)cliff being my favorite character was disappointing in this episode

8)the final act was awful, as I said there was no fighting scene but rather a kiss between a rat and a cockroach which was disgusting.

Despite the negatives:

1)Larry and the negative spirit surprised me this episode, they were the best thing in it.

2)MR. Nobody and cyborg were good enough.

3)Rita was fine not bad but they should've showed us a part of her potential.

4)first act that explored niles coulder story was great.

5)the second act was good, but eventually at the end of this act all the hype and excitement that it offered was took away from me.

Overall: It wasn't a great finale for an awesome show, i really wished that this finale would take the show on a whole new level but it really disappointed me exactly like titans' one.

Crying with laughter

Warning: Spoilers
Some of the finest moments ever in a comic book series and this includes Deadpool.

"We've searched 2 continents and been up a donkey's mustn't touch it" ... delivered so straight it killed me then following it with the wrong 'flex' ... what a result.

Crazy end
lahilaastravnar1 January 2022
Absolutely caricatural and weird, genial in his purpose, this episode is an absolutely insane and a perfect open end that leaves open most of the Doom Patrol team misteries.

It is worth the time spent to see? Perhaps.

Season 1: WHAT A SLOW BURN (7.5/10)
alcantaraj-1659420 January 2022
The quality of "Doom Patrol" Season 1 is divided into two, with the first half being okay and the rest being fantastic. Thank goodness for Alan Tudyk's Mr. Nobody - for being a huge highlight especially for most of the okay episodes - and for that therapy episode. After that episode, the show got much better. The last half is fantastic, showing character-driven, mystery-filled narrative mixed with some great weirdness.

ending is nonsense, typical for DC series
kellindil-759-4488281 April 2020
I thought this series will be better with ending than 2 seasons of Titans... Ending is bizzare and honestly I just watched time till end.. it was super boring nonsense, not much connected with all of previous episodes.. whole show after last 2 eps is just trash
