Hilariously Avant-garde!

A light-hearted entertainer with right dose of humor, drama & romance, besides some smart dialogue that act as toppings. Karma Media And Entertainment and ALTBalaji have a winner on hands, yet again!

Of late, films/web series that carry with them the scent of the soil are being attempted by our storytellers. Virgin Bhasskar is no exception. It will be welcomed with open arms by those who want to spend their precious time flexing their facial muscles.

First things first! As the title suggests, Virgin Bhasskar is not an erotica but it's packed with unconventional and unpredictable situations which the hoi polloi laps up with delight - Funny sequences, super performances and loads and loads of laughter. Virgin Bhasskar is also strictly not for the orthodox/moral watchdogs of society. It's brave and path-breaking. Thus, it will be lapped up in a big way. Right from the word go, director Sangieta Rao and co-director Sakshat Dalvi successfully hit the right cord.

Backed with an immensely believable plot (Manish Kumar and Ajaydeep Singh), Virgin Bhasskar is very wittily written, superbly executed and performance oriented series. Kudos to creative producer Rashmi Somvanshi!

What clearly works to the advantage are two factors - the written material (stuffed with side-splitting episodes and superb one-liners) and the perfect casting. Also, the finale is well thought of and implemented. And it's not formulaic!

As far as the performances are concerned, absolutely no prizes for guessing who is the undisputed captain of the ship - Anant V Joshi. The impact of his role is so significant that you just cannot imagine any other actor in his role. WOW!

Rutpanna Aishwarya plays a part that has a zest for life and is bold and fun-loving at the same time. To essay a character with such aplomb is a challenge and she really gets into the skin of the character with absolute ease. Attagirl!

The second performance that stands out from the rest is that of Dherendra Tiwari. He's magnificent in a role that seems tailor-made for him. Viewers are sure to go into raptures with his comic timing. Other actors are also commendable.

On the whole, Virgin Bhasskar is an original and innovative web series. The youth should fall hook, line and sinker for this one. The volatile title should also make it binge-worthy. Double thumbs up!

Good Part The Character Work

Anant V Joshi/Bhasskar Tripathi - Continued his good work from S1 and portrayed the character with same intensity and calmness. There were many layers added to the character in S2 and he showcased those layers with ease. All in all good work.

Rutpanna Aishwarya/Vidhi Pande - Well in the S1 the focus was on Anant Joshi as he is a bit known for his work in other Alt webseries' but trust me this girl just ate the entire cast of the show with her brilliant acting. She just killed it in S1 but what do you do with the topper of your class? Her screen time is very less & that's disappointing for her fans but she still lights up the stage with her charming presence. I understand that story demanded her to be sidelined but she was the brightest star of S1. The writer said that the story is of 80% of the youth and those 80% of the youth (who watched the show) fell in love with the character so what did you had in store for them in S2?

Jiyaa Shankar/Pakhi - With all due respect Jiyaa Shankar performed the character very well and did whatever she could to bring Pakhi to life but her character is not presented the way it should have been. I don't consider it her fault. The director focused more on how they both write the book rather than focusing on their chemistry which is missing.

Dherendra Kumar Tiwari/Mishra Ji - So many layers to the character and Tiwari Ji is lucky to have got it. The character has improved in S2 and so has the character work. Mishrology is nice touch added to the character.

Now coming to the bad parts: 1. Production Values have gone down. Songs from other movies are unnecessarily stuffed. Don't know if they were working with limited budget or what but they could have had something original or maybe not have any song at all rather than making it look worse with songs from other movies! Did they think they are shooting for some daily soap? 2. Background music is missing - The chemistry that Anant & Rutpanna had in the first season is quite different with both being at ease with each other but do you know what made it at look so ease? - The mouth organ music in the background. There's really no background music in this season & that's why maybe the chemistry between the new pair didn't work. Maybe!

Directorial Parts: The first season was so very well directed but the 2nd season has some issues with writing & direction. It seems to have been hastily completed. It seems that as the number of episodes went to 12 the director cut through some scenes which makes it look awkward. Why couldn't you increase time per episode and actually make it look more relatable rather than looking awkward.

The story is good. It is unexpected and fresh. Dialogues are also good. The side characters have also done good and add that tadka to the story. If only the they could have sorted the above it would have been a very good S2 but with the benchmark set in S1 it falls short. The main reason i find is that it is hurriedly shot & made ready for screening due to the time lost in lockdown and to get the viewers as there was limited fresh content on the offering.

PS : Some may find it to be biased but it's written by R.A.'s fan so can't help it 😎

You must watch it. The plot was good too not that strong but it was enjoyable. Just watched second season 2 and it was good too and ending was alright too. A nice comedy series you can watch !

I Watched the whole series in one go. Really it's awesome, intersting Storyline, direction and obviously Acting. I am Biggg Fan of Ruptpanna Aishwarya Ji. I would personally recommend it to watch this web series.

I had nothing to watch , so i decided to watch this series and I would say "was not bad at all. It was better then all the crap and vulgar stuff you see these days. You won't regret it.

Perfectly scripted and all the actors performed well...especially vidhi pandey whose cuteness and expressions were perfect and also bhaskar played a superb role and innocence reflected by him in his acting was amazing..waiting for season 2.

First of all the best part of the series is that the episodes are compact very well written and it only takes approx 3 hour to finish the entire saga. Secondly the dialogues and acting specially performance by the Bhaskar played by Anant Vijay Joshi , Mishra ji and Vidhi are superb. Finally the series has the right balance of romance, comedy & power pack performance by the cast. I believe it's the only show on Alt Balaji which stick to narrative rather than shifting to unnecessary adult content.

After a long time, I came across this web series. The trailer was enough to put in the watchlist, the dialogue, delivery, cast, comedy and mostly the script is awesome. Very well put and a must watch! Alt Balaji's new series is a combo of both pleasure and content to go Binge.

Missed Vidhi and Bhaskar chemistry

Missed the Vidhi-Bhaskar Chemistry. Rutpanna who plays Vidhi conquers it whenever she is on the screen. Season 1 was better than this.. If Season 3 is coming the makers should give justice to the brilliant actress 'Rutpanna'.

The characters have played their roles in a very proper manner and with perfect Banarasi language! Anant & Rutpanaa were amazing and so were Dhirendra & Himanshu! The dialogue delivery and the locations of the series was really amazing! If you are from Banaras, it will give you the Banarasi vibes that you feel when in Banaras! Truly amazing, hats off to whole cast & crew of Virgin Bhasskar! Looking forward for some more series just like this!
