the poem
wishingstar555516 December 2008
There is a scene on the baseball field where they are spreading ashes of Ida Greenburg . Im trying to find title and author of poem they used after spreading the ashes. I find the poem to be very touching and fitting for the scene. I must watch the episode again but am unable to find it on internet. I love the show I find almost every episode to be well written . Im new to this business of being a fan so please bear with me . I will write more as I get time but I've heard disturbing news that show might be cancelled next season . If thats the case I will join in the fight to save it like I've heard the fans did for several TV shows. So long live Desperate Housewives !

Lynette & Ida
Just-A-Girl-1421 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode finally addressed an issue that really bothered me. None of the characters in the show are perfect but Lynette is more selfish and arrogant than most. I'm glad she felt guilty towards Ida. She should! Last episode she had no problem throwing Ida's beloved cat outside the shelter. Did it matter to her that this old lonely woman loves her cat? No! Lynette only cares about herself and her family. Plus, the cat is the third animal Lynette has killed so far. Seriously, how many animals is she going to kill? First it was the rat she used to get her husband to clean the house (technically Tom killed the rat but it was totally her fault), then it was the possum she killed because she was having trouble dealing with her cancer and now the cat. Karen was absolutely correct when she told her that she's not a real friend. She only uses people. That's not friendship. I can understand that she puts her family first, who doesn't?! But that doesn't mean she has to use people (like Karen) or mistreat them (like Ida). It's possible a lot of people won't agree with me but I understand how important a cat can be to someone like Ida. I'm an animal lover. I have cats and dogs and I consider them family! Plus, she could have killed Karen when she tried to get the cat back. Shame on her!

Lastly I just wanted to point out that I really loved the character of Ida. Even though she was a minor character, she was still a lovely one. Imo, she added a lot of value to the Wisteria Lane community so personally, I'm going to miss her.

Kanagawa?
marleen102011 April 2008
Why is the title of season 4 episode 10 "Welcome to Kanagawa"? I lived in the Kanagawa prefecture of Japan for several years. I don't get the connection between the title and the episode. I don't think there was ever a tornado in Kanagawa. Is there some Japanese trivia that I missed somehow? Somebody please let me know. I started watching DH in Japan several years ago. I loved it then, and still love it now, but I got lost between seasons when I returned to the USA in 2006. I get lost between reruns of old seasons and new episodes. And why do I need 10 lines to ask one simple question? Is there another way to ask this question and get an answer?
