Predictable story, is like written by Bollywood writer. Bad acting, cheesy story lines, cheesy sex acts just full of cheap cheeses 🐭 🧀 . I think in real, the body guard is a dangerous man, over possesive too. Giving this movie 4 out of 10.
Movie title should be Seduce the bodyguard

Waited till first 35 minutes to watch a hardcore action scene. but failed.
this a romantic movie with a title of action movie.
if you prefer an action movie to watch, keep a pillow by your side. it will help you.

The Protector is one of Jodi Ellen Malpas books I really liked, this adaptation was very good, the casting was good and the soundtrack was fantastic. The story brought to screen was in general there, however something was missing for me from the book, the details are there and the hot scenes, it felt a bit rushed, I know is hard to fit a whole book into just minutes on screen, but definitely it's still a movie to pass a good time and a way for you to introduce you to the book.
Not worth watching unless nothing else is on.

PLOT
A father hires an ex-SAS officer with a past to serve as his daughter's bodyguard when he gets a series of threats against her.
WHAT I LIKED The basic premise is sound, and the woman (Emma Rigby) is decent to watch. I saw her briefly before in Becoming Human but it wasn't a show I was into, so didn't see much of her there.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE The production has a made-for-TV feel to it with low-budget action plus a schmaltzy romance feel to it. Plus showing his supposed flashbacks is a bit ridiculously done. And did I mention the "plot" makes no sense after the first round? The father is a big tycoon, and is being targeted for something else. His daughter is threatened so it makes sense to hire the bodyguard too. Except here's the thing - the final revelation of who is behind it all makes NO SENSE for the methodology. As a spoiler alert, the father is being blackmailed by someone with photos of him in a compromising position. Which is enough on its own, and he's paying the blackmail. But they also threaten his daughter, which MAKES NO SENSE. Two entirely different threats from the same person when the first one worked on its own. The person behind it is relatively obvious, and the "reveal" is all told to the viewer, not even shown. And finally the main actor can't act to save his life, nor the father, or the brother. Which leaves the daughter, her friend, the bodyguard's booking agent/friend, and the mother. So why did I watch it? Because it accidentally ended up on my preview list when I thought it was the start of a TV series like the Equalizer. Nope.

Amazing if you're into romance

Great movie, could do with better filming but overall the story line is amazing. If you're into romance then this is definitely for you. Also read the novel of this, honestly amazing. And for those of you thinking it's some action based movie with gruesome scenes 🙄I suggest you watch the trailer, read the movie description, instead of getting pissy in the reviews section.

It was just rushed. How they fell for each other was rushed rescuing her was rushed and very easy.
I'm usually easy going with movies and will appreciate a movie for what it is. However with this movie cause it was rushed I felt there was no connection between the main charcters. It's a good story line just needs to explain and slow down abit.

So disappointed. One of my favourite authors and I love this story but the film was so dull. Did not capture any of the spirit of the book or the essence of that characters.

Loved Emma in this. Sha is a beautoful woman..
I liked the story a lot.
Watched it 16 times since purchasing it on Amazon.. NOte to critics--I don.t watch movies to look for its faults. I watch a movie that makes me feel good,,and this did just that.

Some of the reviews are pretty negative, but this movie is not made to be anything but a feel good romance. The chemistry is phenomenal between the two lead actors, and it is a very good adaptation of the book! I recommend watching this movie if you want to see something sweet and light.

This is not only romance but crime and suspense. Some may not like such sexual and romantic movies like this but it's worth the watch. It shows how important it is not to judge a situation or person before knowing all the details. It also shows that bitterness is not a good thing and can ruin a person's life. It illustrates the real side of true love and how it affects our lives. If anyone has been passionately in love with another person, they can relate to this movie.
Really romantic film.... loved it! 💕

I loved this movie. I started to read the book, then got impatient to see how it ended, so I watched it on Passionflix.
Firstly, the casting was perfect, & the chemistry between the two leads was fantastic. Things moved along a lot faster than would be realistic, but who watches these things for realism!!
I was amused by Camille's hair - it would change from scene to scene eg she was in the house & had lovely ringlets; next thing, she was walking along the path & it was bone straight! By the time she got to Jake it was wavy again! She also managed to look stunning, even after she got hit in the face... I'm just jealous though....lol Also...naked picnics.... I think this should be a thing...but I also want a hot bodyguard lol
It won't win any Oscars, but just a lovely romantic way to spend a couple of hours...💕

This movie is very good. Perhaps the actor did not know how to coordinate his movements, dialogues and other things well, but he made up for it in the high parts of the film. Emma did it great like never before. The theme is purely sensual and romantic and this movie is EXACTLY EQUAL TO THE BOOK. Bravo for PassionFlix.
