Parents As Suspects, Privilege, Man's Best Friend Brought In
vivianla4 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode shows what journalists and professionals thought of the parents as suspects. One man stated he did not like the dad who is a surgeon - he was very straightforward and it is difficult to get him to be out of line due to his experience as a doctor. The parents go on a sort of roadshow, bringing awareness to different places of their daughter's case. They go to Vatican City to see the Pope who holds a picture of the girl.

They talk about privilege in this episode. This case was brought into international attention. But there are so many cases of missing children - why was so much invested in this particular case? They spent more money on this case than any other Portuguese missing child. The man says why not invest in our children? The British child was invested in much more.

They bring in dogs to sniff out anything suspicious. Britain has the blood dogs and the human cadavers dogs. The dad was scared of bringing the dogs in. They show a clip of how accurate the blood dog is - they put a single drop on a cloth and washed that cloth three times. The dog walked along the line of cloths and was able to sniff it out as well as the exact place the blood was dropped on it. The dogs will bark if they notice something. At the end of this episode we see a dog brought in who was immediately tense upon entering and barked.

This episode makes me want to adopt a dog.
