A Call to Arms

Honstely, I was never into the more anime style shows but this show got a unique style and feel to it. I love ancient greek mythology and am looking forward of how it will be implemented throughout the show. Great character introduction and look, definitely worth a watch.

Blood of Zeus starts its race off on a butchered foot.

The world seems like a mess. It's just so... Christian. Dark and light, demons, and flame poker tests. The mythology might require liberties to fit a story but way it looks, the thing might as well just be whatever the writer wants with a Greek tie-dye.

Musically... it's generic. Polished, but generic. The soundtrack is a very typical big cinematic style thing with a leaning on the grandiose/gothic side - tall vocals and what have you - which is unfortunate considering the subject matter. Can't say I recall much or any Grecian music during the episode.

Alexia, the female guard who seems as if she'll be one of the main characters is voiced terribly in this episode. Her battle grunts have less gusto than a faked cough, her enthusiasm is drier than the most arid salt plain, and her voice carries all the gravitas of the girls I knew in high school.

Heron though... if Alexia is lacking in enthusiasm, Heron just sounds bored. Least he can grunt.

Well at least it's pretty. Backgrounds well drawn though the animation itself is rather stiff.

Well, is just the first episode but I have to tell you that it was not bad.

Plot: The introduction story is well narrated in a simple way. After this episode not everything is explained (but you can guess) but it can takes you and convince to watch the next one. Like I'll do.

Animation: well, here there is a concern. The animation, the movements, are not very flowing. But if you don't mind you'll not even notice it.

Drawing: quite poor. They are pretty squared but also well defined, so it's not difficult to follow this cartoon.

Conclusions: after just an episode this show can envelopes you, capturing you in this fantasy world. There is hope and expectation in the next episodes. See you at the end of this season!

So a very good 1st episode from an Greek mythology series... As what we expect from the 1st episode that will become our first impression... Some good Greece and Athens type scenes with market places and Greek style buildings of Ancient Greece and Ancient Greece type costumes of soldiers. They introduced with the demons and explained the past fight or war between gods and titans and later on gods and giants and how from remains of the giants, demons come into being... To be honest it doesn't deserves a 10 rating but I gave it cause I love the show... But it doesn't means that it is bad it is 9 star episode and a good start and a hyping end to the episode that will make you to binge watch the next episode.
