Overall an enjoyable show, but this episode? Jesus...

This episode glorifies deafness. That is absolutely moronic. Anyone who wanted their eyes removed or limbs removed would obviously be seen as insane, but being deaf is special? A doctor really would permanently deafen a patient at their request without exploring other options first like, say, I don't know.... WEARING EAR MUFFS?! This episode is a good example of how people can be manipulated. All smiling faces and relief and it seems like something horrific is acceptable and normal, if the ending scene was played with the SAW theme in the background and I think the meaning would have hit closer to reality.

Once again, this show is just too funny. Such convenient story lines and solutions. But I had to write review about this specific episode because I literally laught my arse off.

Mainly, because there was this gay couple (again...gay coupes I think consist of 1% of couples in New York, but the show conveniently has a sub plotabout gay couples every other week,if not weekly). Here's the twist. One of them is a black deaf lesbian who had some transplant to hear (IKR....aother trifecta victim scenario). Anyhoo, the transplant was giving her problems...mainly because,oh, IDK....cause she is in New York and who would have thought that living in a noisy city and be in a relationship (any relationship) would cause problems when you suddenly have hearing.......

So basically, therapy session with Iggy, and I can't believe the writers actually wrote this....but basically, in a very "supposed to be sweet moment" she told her partner that she liked her better when SHE COULDN'T HEAR HER......I mean I'm sure most spouses who saw that episode probably said..."I hear ya, sister". Not even kidding. Lesson of the episode is relationships would probably work better if we can't hear each other.....I can't fault them with that logic.
