Some people say they prefer video games to any kind of TV show these days, and it's not hard to see why. Not only do games offer amazing stories and great graphics, but they also draw you in and make you feel like a part of the universe in which the events take place.
However, games take time, skill, and patience, and they're not for everyone. So, if you are interested in some of the plots of video games, but want to sit back and relax while watching them, here are 8 best adaptations that might be a perfect choice.
8. Sonic Prime (2022-...) – 60%
The fate of the world is once again in Sonic's hands as he must use his super speed to save the newly created multiverse. Although the latest installment of the famous hedgehog's journey didn't impress audiences too much, viewers were much more appreciative, giving the show an 86% approval rating.

After Netflix’s recent success with the live-action One Piece adaptation, the company seems to have acknowledged the potential of anime. Several Netflix original series have been released in the past few years, and the latest addition is Garouden: The Way of the Lone Wolf.
This no-nonsense action-packed series is very obviously targeted at fans of Baki, Spriggan, Kengan Ashura, and other original Netflix action anime. No one can deny the cult following these action anime have, and the company did not waste any time catering another series to this growing audience.
Netflix Ona Garouden: Plot, Trailer, and Other Updates
Garouden: The Way of the Lone Wolf anime is inspired by a Japanese martial arts novel by Baku Yumemakura. The protagonist, Juzo is a skilled martial artist and practices Takemiya-ryu. He is on the run from a dark past and is being followed by a detective.

With a controversial launch thanks to the amount of microtransactions that this game has, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is still a very good game that could be one of the best titles of the year. Capcom just confirmed some updates that will finally change a very annoying thing that was making advancing on the story a very difficult thing to achieve: the Dragonsplague.
The game’s social media posts confirmed the impending arrival of this feature. Fans are also waiting for another feature that will make this title run smoothly, especially on consoles.
The Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dragonsplague Conundrum Will Finally be Fixed. Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dragonsplague will be fixed in an upcoming update.
One of the major issues that this title presented was the disease known as Dragonsplague that will make pawns, very important characters of the game, eventually die.

There were a lot of hopes resting on the shoulders of Rise of the Ronin, Team Ninja’s RPG set in 19th-century Japan, but it didn’t turn out to be the authentic Japanese masterpiece that it seemed like before release. After the success that PlayStation enjoyed because of Ghost of Tsushima, it felt like all of the required foundations were laid out for Sony’s next Japanese outing.
Still, it’s not like Rise of the Ronin is a bad game since most of the reviews are generally favorable, but according to reports, the game may not have been the hit that Team Ninja’s parent company, Koei Tecmo, was looking forward to.
It Seems Like Rise of the Ronin Wasn’t a Commercial Hit

Fallout‘s Studio Design Director is apparently a huge fan of the new Dragon’s Dogma, and he’s not been shying away from making it known. Emil Pagliarulo is no stranger to the world of gaming. With his extensive experience in game design, his insights into the industry are always worth noting.
Lately, he’s been raving about Capcom’s latest RPG release, and one particular design decision has caught his attention.

Dragon’s Dogma’s creative breakthrough—as a series, since much of what the sequel does was introduced in the 2012 original—is that it conceives of the RPG adventure not as a string of combat encounters or dialogue decisions, but as often arduous traveling through dangerous, unpredictable lands—with all the planning, consequences, and improvisation that entails. This angle is so daring and unusual that Dragon’s Dogma 2, which once again sees you set out as the chosen Arisen on a quest to slay the mighty Dragon (or at least it seems that simple at first), somehow feels unlike anything else that’s been released since the first game.
The loop of the game is in many ways similar to that of other action RPGs. Quests send you out into the wilderness to complete tasks and fight monsters before having you return to town to buy equipment and learn skills. This is a familiar rhythm,...

There are a lot of ways and factors that are used to determine the success of something in the gaming industry. While one can argue looking at the popularity of the game should be enough, how things usually work is by looking at the amount of sales a particular title has sold.
Such is the case with the recent Dragon’s Dogma 2 title, which was able to overtake the record of the director’s past title, Devil May Cry 5, without any effort. While the comparison should not hold any real meaning behind itself, it shows how well the recent game is being received by the audience.

Dragon’s Dogma 2
Dragon’s Dogma 2 has improved its gameplay in comparison to its predecessor and comes with a dynamic and dense game world and emergent narrative. Additionally, it became the second best-selling game during its launch week in Japan with 68,592 units sold.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 beats Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth in the U.K
When players got their hands on Dragon’s Dogma 2, many complained of the game being poorly optimized, and facing severe frame rate drops across all platforms. Much of the criticism was pointed towards the game’s performance on PCs, and NPCs putting a strain on the Cpu.

Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma 2 was released last week after being announced roughly 2 years ago. The game’s director Hideaki Itsuno and the team started the development with a focus on making the game better than its predecessor, 2012’s Dragon’s Dogma. The first game’s open-world environment was indeed very impressive, but the team decided to take things to the next level.

While this may seem like a good idea, at one point they felt overloaded as the open world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 grew bigger than they originally planned. Although the workload was increased, the game didn’t seem rushed at all as they made the entire map immersive to keep the players hooked. The team worked hard and crossed all the expectations to give fans an exciting gaming experience.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 has plenty of ways to soft lock yourself and ruin hours and hours of hard work poured into your character.
These aren’t accomplished through bugs, glitches, or exploits. Instead, they’re entirely dependent on the player’s actions. You might know about the dreaded Dragonsplague, but there’s another way you can soft lock yourself; an item that doesn’t hide what it is at all, and one that many players have just accepted as a “Dragon’s Dogma kinda thing.”
Dragon’s Dogma 2’s Unmaking Arrow Does Exactly What it Implies
Do the Dragon’s Dogma 2 devs want people to soft lock themselves?
The Unmaking Arrow isn’t your run-of-the-mill projectile; it’s a weapon of instant annihilation. One shot, and your target are gone for good. No respawns, no do-overs—just a one-way ticket to oblivion.
You might be thinking, “Can’t we just reload...

Dragon’s Dogma 2, the sequel to the 2012 Dragon’s Dogma, has been one of the most anticipated titles of the year. The game was released by Capcom on March 22 across all platforms. The game opened to much hype, but as fans started playing the game, negative reviews started pouring in.
Dragon’s Dogma 2
Players were not happy for a few reasons. However, the most prominent one seemed to be an optimization issue. Several players complained of frame rate drops while playing the game, and most of these occurred in the cities with a bigger number of NPCs than other areas. Some also suggested that non-valuable NPCs should be killed so as to avoid the frame rate issue.

Fans Will Stop Playing Rise of the Ronin Altogether After Hearing How Dragon’s Dogma 2 Humiliated It
The number of new and exciting games that have been released in recent times is overwhelming and impressive. It just gives the gaming community so much to play around with, and delve further into the specific universe.
There are so many releases that games often coincide and end up releasing on the same day, just like movies. This sometimes leads to one title overpowering the other in spite of deserving the same amount of credit.

Developed by Capcom, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the sequel to the 2012 game Dragon’s Dogma. The game was directed by Hideaki Itsuno, and released on March 22, 2024, for Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The sequel is set in a continuous open world that is based on a parallel universe to that of its predecessor, and it is four times larger than the map in that game.
Dragon’s Dogma 2
The sequel is set in the middle of a global conflict, and players take control of a customizable character and set out to hunt down the dragon that designated them as the “Arisen.” Players with the help of allies must complete tasks and get new equipment as they proceed in the game.

It’s been less than a week since Capcom released Dragon’s Dogma 2 and the game has already been making news for the game’s several unnecessary micro-transactions. Micro-transactions are known to hurt the overall experience for gamers who cannot always pay to get the items needed for a quick win or to find a way to quickly travel in-game.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 has now added a new way to hurt players in the form of a plague that hurts the pawns, who follow players throughout the game, leading to the deaths of NPCs in hordes, and has eventually become an important topic of discussion surrounding the game.

Capcom’s recently launched title, Dragon’s Dogma 2, is gathering all kinds of controversy and acclaim. Some people are talking about its microtransactions, while others are talking about its challenging gameplay mechanics. But one thing remains as interesting as ever: this game’s incredibly well-designed gameplay mechanics. Fans who are playing Dragon’s Dogma 2 are finding it hard to put down.
And it makes sense too. Capcom might be a bit silly with its microtransactions, but it knows how to develop exciting games. An open-world game with excellent visuals thanks to that ever-popular Re engine, and finally, those mind-blowing action sequences. This game has it all, and its fans have a classic Capcom action game to thank for it.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is more than just one of the best games of 2024; it’s an epic RPG adventure that revives a franchise many had left for dead. It’s a must-play experience for fantasy fans everywhere.
However, many of those fantasy fans are already asking some version of a pretty important question, “Does Dragon’s Dogma 2 offer any multiplayer options that allow you to play with your friends?”
Unfortunately, the answer to that question is a pretty hard “No.” Dragon’s Dogma 2 does not include any co-op or competitive multiplayer options that allow you to play the game with others. For many, that will understandably be a deal-breaker. After all, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a party-focused RPG action-adventure that would seemingly be perfect for co-op play. The highly anticipated Dragon’s Dogma 2 is coming out today and has been well-received by critics. However, inconsistent frame rates on PC have been a unanimous complaint among the reviewers.
Capcom offered an official statement to Eurogamer, acknowledging the issue and explaining its probable cause. The statement read,
“In Dragon’s Dogma 2, a large amount of Cpu usage is allocated to each character and calculating the impact of their physical presence in various areas. In certain situations where numerous characters appear simultaneously, the Cpu usage can be very high and may affect the frame rate.”
The publisher is currently looking for ways to improve the game’s performance. However, some players are perhaps reading too much into Capcom’s statement. Some have figured out an extreme solution on their own, and it involves mass murdering NPCs.

In many games, you’re never quite sure what’s going to happen next. Every level and point of plot progression introduces some new idea. The same is true of Dragon’s Dogma 2. The difference is that there will be many times in Dragon’s Dogma 2 when even the game’s developers probably couldn’t tell you what is about to happen.

David Benioff and D. B. Weiss of Game of Thrones fame divulged details about their latest Netflix outing, 3 Body Problem, and how they intend to handle its future. The duo, who’ve had experiences with dabbling in prestige television, have been joined by Alexander Woo as the series showrunners of the live-action adaptation of Liu Cixin’s uber-successful Chinese novel The Three-Body Problem.

In a recent interview, these creatives at the show’s helm revealed how they mapped out the show’s trajectory in coming seasons since there is enough material to prompt future installments. With the creators having a more concrete vision of how to approach the source, fans could (potentially) expect to avoid another Game of Thrones fiasco.

Released in 2012 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the original Dragon’s Dogma was an action roleplaying game tailored to a very specific audience. Brutally difficult, the gameplay centered on open-world exploration with a survivalist touch, wherein players and their Npc (non-player character) companions must trek through a “persistent” world that — at the time — felt organic as shifting day-and-night cycles and changing weather conditions imbued its somewhat bland fantasy world with a sense of life. Heavy on customization options and a general “fend for yourself” attitude toward the player, it merged many...

There is only a month left till we finally see Dragon’s Dogma 2 arrive on our consoles or PCs, and now, thanks to a recent teaser from games director Hideaki Itsuno, there could be a major feature coming to the game that could change the future of the genre and potentially gaming itself.
For many gamers, this feature may not be as important as a well-balanced combat system, a detailed story, perfectly rendered characters, or other features, but for many gamers, this is something that could completely change how a game acts and feels, and that is the frame rate at which the game can be played.

Capcom has finally announced that Dragon’s Dogma II will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam on March 22, 2024. Pre-orders for the follow-up to the 2012 original are up now, complete with pre-order bonuses. Capcom made the announcement during the scheduled showcase event, which included new gameplay reveals with director Hideaki Itsuno and producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi.
On PlayStation Blog, Itsuno stated that Dragon’s Dogma is a game that he dreamed of playing as a boy “who loved Trpg-based games and action games, and I have a special attachment to it. Dragon’s Dogma II incorporates ideas that were not technically feasible at the time we created the first game. I believe this game will let you experience the fantasy world you’ve always dreamed of, a fantasy world action simulator game, and ultimately be the ultimate Dragon’s Dogma.”

Capcom continues to rake in the sales for the Resident Evil series. In the company’s latest financial report, not only have the recent three remakes added to their totals from this past summer, but the series as a whole now stands at 150 million units sold. This makes the Resident Evil series Capcom’s best-selling property.
The report delves into the second quarter for Capcom’s Fiscal Year 2023, covering May through August. The report notes that Capcom’s remakes of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 have now sold 13.3 million, 8 million and 5.4 million in sales, respectively. This is obviously up from the totals from June, which Capcom had reflected in their list of million-selling “Platinum Titles” back in August.

While Konami seems to have been hogging all of the animated Netflix video game adaptations lately, Capcom has countered with a new trailer for Onimusha, which is set to start streaming on November 2. Set to “The Loneliest” by Måneskin, the trailer doesn’t get into the demon-slaying that the video games are known for just yet, but that’s quickly rectified.
Unlike the Castlevania Netflix adaptations, Onimusha instead utilizes 3D animation with a cel-shaded art style from animation studio Sublimation and director Shinya Sugai, whose work includes the CG anime adaptation of another Capcom property, Dragon’s Dogma.
Directed by Takashi Miike and featuring the voice talents of Akio Otsuka, Toshihiko Seki, Hochu Otsuka, Daiki Yamashita, Subaru Kimura and Katsuyuki Konishi, Onimusha will focus on Miyamoto Musashi, who is modeled after Japanese film icon Toshiro Mifune.

It’s only been out for less than a week, but Final Fantasy 16 is proving to be one of the most divisive games of 2023. Interestingly, many of the arguments people are currently having about the game are the same arguments people were having before Final Fantasy 16 was even released. Some gamers love the ways that Final Fantasy 16 changes the franchise’s “formula” and some do not.
To be fair, this argument is a little more complicated than that. As indicated above, the debate over the Final Fantasy formula is inherently strange simply because very few mainline Final Fantasy games (especially those released in the last 20 years) follow any kind of formula. While there are a few characters, entities, concepts, and reference points that unite all Final Fantasy titles, many of them have historically endeavored to be their own thing.

Final Fantasy XVI works because of its desire to push the series in a new direction, influenced by all kinds of western media, while still celebrating its own quirky spirit. It doesn’t reinvent or subvert its original concepts — there are still crystals, chocobos, and scenery chewing villains — but it trades anime tropes and modernist sci-fi saga for a medieval, gothic fantasy built on the relationship between light and dark (emphasis on the dark). The most mature entry the series has ever seen, it delivers a ruthless and deeply personal...

Final Fantasy is widely regarded as the grandfather of modern turn-based RPG design philosophies (though its actual influence is slightly more complicated). However, the franchise has strayed further and further from these roots ever since Final Fantasy X. That’s not to say more recent entries are bad, but rather that they clearly going in a different direction. However, the latest mainline Final Fantasy title, the upcoming Final Fantasy XVI, is really testing the limits of the series’ more traditional elements.
On June 12, Square Enix released a special demo for Final Fantasy XVI. The small sampling runs players through the prologue, which should take most gamers two and a half hours to complete. Anyone who completes this section can play through another segment set later in the game that is meant to provide players a taste of the overwhelming power you can eventually wield.

After revealing Dragon’s Dogma 2 a few weeks back, Capcom has given fans a bit more info on the sequel to the 2012 original. Dragon’s Dogma 2 director Hideaki Itsuno appeared during the Capcom Showcase to explain some of the improvements made with the sequel over the first game.
As before in the previous game, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will make use of the Pawn system, AI-controlled companions that will join you on your quest. In addition to customizing their main character, the Arisen, players can also personalize their main Pawn, who can in turn be recruited by other players’ Arisen to borrow their skills and knowledge. What Pawns learn through these experiences will be reflected in their behaviour.
Powered by the Re Engine, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is four times the size of the original Dragon’s Dogma. The game’s environment is complemented by immersive physics and character AI that brings Pawns,...

Announced last June, Capcom took the wrappings off of Dragon’s Dogma II with a brand new trailer at the Sony State of Play.
Dragon’s Dogma II begins in a subterranean jail, where the Dragon’s voice echoes in the fog of lost memories. With their heart taken by the Dragon, the Arisen is set on a path to slay that symbol of the world’s destruction as it soars through the sky on massive wings, breathing flames that scorch everything in its path. Betwixt the domains of humans and the newly introduced beastren race, a hero must fulfill their forgotten destiny, and claim the throne. Up to three mysterious otherworldly beings, known as Pawns, accompany the Arisen throughout their journey. Pawns create the feeling of a cooperative gameplay experience by offering unique characteristics, skills, and knowledge gained from their experiences with other Arisen.

The best-selling video games easily rake in more money from sales than the biggest blockbuster movies do at the box office, which is why the industry is so determined to make console-to-screen adaptations a viable enterprise, despite so many of them suffering from dismal critical and commercial performances over the last quarter of a century.
There’s been a definite upturn in quality over the last few years, though, with smash hits Detective Pikachu and Sonic the Hedgehog becoming the first two adaptations to score a Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while The Witcher ascended to pop culture phenomenon status and instantly established itself as one of Netflix‘s marquee TV shows after dominating both the conversation and the most-watched list for weeks on end.

Earlier this week, Netflix re-released the promising trailer for Eden, a science fiction anime series coming to the streamer in May 2021. The four-episode, Japanese-language series is set thousands of years in the future in a robot city known as “Eden 3.” When two farming robots accidentally awaken a human baby girl from stasis during a routine assignment, they begin to question everything they thought they knew about the myth of humanity and decide to raise the child secretly on their own.
Great premise, right? Well, the production has some great creative talent to drive it too. Eden comes from director Yasuhiro Irie, who also did Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and boasts Toshihiro Kawamoto, best known as character designer and animation director for Cowboy Bebop, as a concept designer. Hopefully, Eden is good; regardless, it is a notable series in the history of Netflix, as Eden is being billed as “the first Netflix Japanese Original Anime.

Netflix is aiming to grow its production of anime content by signing four deals with creators in Japan and Korea.
The producers are Japan’s Naz, Science Saru, Mappa, and Korea’s Studio Mir, and take the streamer’s total content deals in the two territories to nine. Each deal is a non-exclusive production line partnership. Netflix says its aim is “to create the best content for the global anime community”.
To date, the service’s original anime productions under the existing partnerships include Altered Carbon: Resleeved (Anima), Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045 (Production I.G), and Dragon’s Dogma (Sublimation).
Upcoming in 2021 and beyond are Spriggan (David Production), Vampire In The Garden, (Wit Studio – a group company under Production I.G), and Super Crooks (Bones).
“In just four years, we’ve built a dedicated team based in Tokyo that serves to entertain the global anime community through new and aspirational storytelling.

With so much to watch on Netflix so far in September, you would be forgiven for being overwhelmed and having quite a backlog already. We’ve been treated to plenty of Netflix Originals, such as Tom Holland’s psychological thriller The Devil All the Time, unnerving horror flick I’m Thinking of Ending Things and sci-fi drama Away, while we’ve also seen the addition of classics like the full Back to the Future trilogy, the kid-friendly How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Seth Rogen’s beloved stoner comedy Pineapple Express.

Netflix has released the first trailer for its animated adaptation of Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma, and the results are…interesting.
“Resurrected as an Arisen, Ethan sets out to vanquish the Dragon that took his heart,” reads a description of Dragon’s Dogma on the Netflix website. “But with every demon he battles, his humanity slips further away.”
Created by Japanese animation studio Sublimation, Dragon’s Dogma‘s animation style certainly seems to be the thing that most people are talking about at the moment. There’s been some debate in the past regarding whether or not some of Netflix’s other animated adaptations technically qualify as animes. While I will withdraw from that argument on account of a complete lack of interest, Dragon Dogma‘s animation style is certainly striking.

September marks the start of the traditional TV season. For many networks and cable channels, however, this will be an usual season with the coronavirus pandemic halting production leaving behind paltry fall lineups. Over on Netflix, however, things continue to operate at high capacity.
Netflix is rolling out quite a few original series and movies for its new releases in September 2020. The Hillary Swank-starring space drama Away premieres on September 4. That is followed by a whole host of intriguing concepts including Julie and the Phantoms (Sept. 10), Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous (Sept. 18), and even the Nurse Ratched origin story series called Ratched (Sept. 18).
The film side of things is just as packed. Romantic comedy Love, Guaranteed premieres on Sept. 3, Charlie Kaufman’s latest effort I’m Thinking of Ending Things arrives on Sept. 4, and the Tom Holland-starring thriller The Devil All the Time bows on Sept. 16. That’s not even to mention Enola Holmes on Sept.
