Charles Manson was five foot, two inches tall. He would claim to be five foot six, and some papers list him as 5’4″, but he was much smaller than how he has been presented. He is certainly not as physically imposing as the stature of his lore. Helter Skelter: An American Myth in one of the most comprehensive examinations of Charles Manson found in one title. The six episodes of the documentary series delve deep into the childhood of the man who would start the Family that committed the Crime of the Century.
Directed and executive produced by Lesley Chilcott, who produced An Inconvenient Truth, Helter Skelter: An American Myth doesn’t depict Manson as the mystical mastermind who infested a nation’s nightmares. Using interviews with former family members, journalists and archival footage, the documentary hopes to look past the legends to determine what makes a career criminal.

Quentin Tarantino tried to steal the swinging sixties aura Tinseltown back from the murderous late sixties spree which ground the decade of love and peace to a close. But a new exposé takes an almost forensic look at the Tate–Labianca murders. A comprehensive Manson Family docuseries Helter Skelter, is coming to Epix. Produced by Warner Horizon Unscripted Television, it will premiere June 14.
The six-part docuseries was executive produced and directed by Lesley Chilcott. Her recently-directed feature documentary, Watson, is currently being broadcast in over 50 countries on Animal Planet. She also directed CodeGirl, A Small Section of the World, and produced Waiting For “Superman,” It Might Get Loud, and An Inconvenient Truth. “Helter Skelter set outs to illuminate new perspectives on one of the most legendary crimes of our time,” Chilcott said in a statement.
“Before the Menendez brothers, Oj, and Ted Bundy, there was the biggest story of murder...

It’s 1977 in Wiggly, Georgia, and Christmas Flint (moppet extraordinaire Mckenna Grace) is pining for a purpose. The nine-year-old lives with her widower dad (Jim Gaffigan), who everyone calls “Boss Man,” in something like a rural, commune-like trailer park. She has a reputation around school as a weak-bladdered “Wetsy Betsy,” which doesn’t make her the most popular kid there. And like a lot of her fellow misfits — the Bowie–obsessed boy next door (Charlie Shotwell), the born-again Christian with an eyepatch (Bell Higginbotham), the bully (Milan Ray) who really has a heart of gold,...

Malini Saba, owner of Saba Industries Group, has made a key investment in Moonheart Entertainment, the newly launched gaming, television film, and media company that is focused on providing content for family audiences.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Saba, whose company is a privately-held, manufacturer and global exporter of rice and other commodities, had been looking to diversify into the entertainment business. The move finds her partnering with Moonli Singha, Moonheart’s co-founder and CEO, and Rosa Gudmundsdottir, its co-founder and chief creative officer. The hope is that the investment will help the company expand its original content production.
In addition to the Saba Industries Group investment, Moonheart said it will deploy Ibm Watson capabilities to develop unique intellectual properties for youth and their families with franchise potential. Ibm Watson is the question-answering computer system best known for competing on “Jeopardy.” Singha said the company will work...

Trailers are an under-appreciated art form insofar that many times they’re seen as vehicles for showing footage, explaining films away, or showing their hand about what moviegoers can expect.
