  Kara Danvers : So you are both human and alien.

  Dreamer : Yes. My parents believed that humans and aliens could co-exist. And I am living proof of that. But growing up wasn't easy. I am also a trans woman. I'm different, Ms. Danvers, but so is everybody. And I don't know when that became such a bad thing. The greatest gift we can give each other is our authentic selves and sharing that. Sharing our truth is what will make us strong. So here I am. I am both human and alien. And I am a trans woman. S'mores are my favorite dessert. But I will always choose salty over sweet. I broke my nose when I was fifteen during a game of kickball. And my mother was my heart. And since I lost her, it's felt like a piece of me is missing. But my father is my spine. I'm a Gryffindor.   Kara Danvers : You should be.

  Querl Dox : [watching with Lena]  What does... love feel like?

  Kara Danvers : Are you afraid of how the world will react to you now that they know you're an alien?

  Dreamer : Of course. But you know what else? Fear sucks. It sucks. And I am so sick of feeling hopeless. Dawn doesn't come unless we want it to. But we don't have to wait for a new day. We are the new day.

  Kara Danvers : Your mother would be so proud of you.

• Kara Danvers : So, Sebastian Melmoth withdrew $5.8 billion from L-Corp on October 10. The same day, AmerTek paid $5.8 billion for a missile base in Rubniu. Coincidence?

  Lena Luthor : No, I don't believe in them. More likely, our mystery man took the money he withdrew from L-Corp and paid for the missile base using AmerTek as a smokescreen.

  Kara Danvers : So, who is Sebastian Melmoth, and where the hell is Rubniu?

  Lena Luthor : [as she studies the board, something suddenly clicks]  That nostalgic bastard. When Lex was thirteen, he read the entire works of Oscar Wilde, and for weeks, he had us call him by Oscar Wilde's pseudonym, Sebastian Melmoth.

  Kara Danvers : Are we saying that *Lex Luthor* bought a missile base?

  Lena Luthor : No, but not in Rubniu. Lex loves codes, so Sebastian loves codes. It's a double-breasted interrupted key cypher. It's Lex's favorite.

  Kara Danvers : [watching her write "KAZNIA"]  Guess we're going to Kaznia.

• Kara Danvers : What is it?

  Nia Nal : Al's dive bar. He's been using it as a shelter for aliens, and Lockwood's goons just crashed it. I-I stopped them. But... the people there still felt so helpless. And I wanna do more to help them. I just... don't know what else I can do.

  Kara Danvers : I know exactly how you feel. I've been so myopic, I think I've made things worse. I made Franklin's sister more afraid. And not to mention I've been a terrible friend to Lena.

  Nia Nal : Uh... how have you been a terrible friend? You've been lockstep ever since Lex escaped.

  Kara Danvers : That was Supergirl.

  Nia Nal : Right.

• Lena Luthor : I'm sorry I was so short with you. You were just trying to do your job.

  Kara Danvers : Friendship is the most important job, and I was so focused on my article, I forgot what really matters.

  Lena Luthor : No, Kara. The truth is, even if you'd been standing right next to me when Lex escaped, I really wouldn't have let you be there for me.

  Kara Danvers : What do you mean? Why?

  Lena Luthor : Because I'm the one that's keeping secrets. Eve wasn't the only one working with Lex. I...

  [as she talks, her emotions begin to overwhelm her] 

  Lena Luthor : I was working with him, too. He contacted me four months ago. He knew I had the Harun-El. He had cancer and he was afraid to die. He's my brother. And in my heart, I knew he was manipulating me, but I believed him, and I helped him and he betrayed me. And I was weak, and I will never forgive myself for that. I can only imagine what you think of me, Kara. I don't blame you.

  Kara Danvers : [hugging her as Lena cries]  No, no. You are not weak. You are a brilliant, kind-hearted, beautiful soul. Your brother asked you for help, and in life and death situations, you help family. No one can judge you for that. I'm so sorry you felt like you couldn't tell me.

• Lena Luthor : Kara. What a surprise.

  Kara Danvers : Yeah, your new assistant let me in. She seems nice.

  Lena Luthor : Let's hope she doesn't stab me in the back.

• Kara Danvers : Were you just talking to someone that works at AmerTek?

  Franklin : [with toothbrush still in his mouth]  My sister.

  Kara Danvers : Well, I'm working on an article to expose Lex Luthor, and I know AmerTek was involved. Do you think your sister would be willing to talk to me?

  Franklin : I don't know. It's...

  Nia Nal : [approaching]  Franklin, did you sleep here?

  Franklin : Lockwood and his men raided the building across the street from mine.

  Nia Nal : I am so sorry.

  Kara Danvers : Me, too. But that is why this is so important for us to put a stop to. Have your sister call me?

  [he nods] 

  Kara Danvers : Thanks, Franklin.

• Nia Nal : Franklin is afraid to go home. Don't you think that maybe... it's time for you to rejoin the super friends?

  Kara Danvers : Nia, don't you think I wish I could? But look what people are saying.

  [indicating a news report about the search for Supergirl] 

  Kara Danvers : Exposing Lex is the only way I can help right now, and when I do, it will clear Supergirl's name and I can get back out there with you and help people.

  Nia Nal : Okay. No, you're right. Uh, you stay on Lex. But I'm gonna watch the streets. Someone needs to make Lockwood go nighty-night-night.

• Kara Danvers : [nonchalantly, but surreptitiously, knocking out a purse snatcher]  Oh, I'm so sorry. I'm such a klutz. I feel so bad.

• Edna : Things at AmerTek are bad. Really bad. I even heard a rumor they're installing alien detection devices on the entrances next week.

  Kara Danvers : Has AmerTek done business with Lex Luthor or any of his associates in the past eighteen months?

  Edna : I'm in HR.

  Kara Danvers : Can you get me access to those records?

  Edna : [reluctant]  Look, I want these guys taken down. But they are rounding up aliens. And my actions could put my friends and family in danger.

  Kara Danvers : Edna, I know it's scary right now, but Franklin told me how brave you've been. Taking the personnel files of the aliens in your office. What's happening is wrong. But the only way we can stop it is by exposing the people that are committing these crimes. Can you help me?

• Edna : How much longer is this gonna take?

  Kara Danvers : Not long.

  [speeding through the files, she finds an invoice] 

  Kara Danvers : A military base in Rubniu?

• Kara Danvers : Who's Sebastian Melmoth? I researched all the AmerTek executives. I never saw his name. You're in HR. Could you get me his employment records?

  Edna : Those servers require my personal PIN number. They'd know it was me. Someone's coming.

  [hearing voices outside] 

  Edna : We have to hide.

  [Kara uses her freeze breath to seal the door; after a moment, the voices leave] 

  Kara Danvers : Hey... it's okay, it's okay.

  Edna : I'm sorry. But you don't know what it's like to walk around with a target on your back just because of what you are. I can't go on the record. I can't do this.

• Kara Danvers : Sebastian Melmoth. Who are you? Why were you buying property in the non-existent land of Rubniu in October?

  [as a thought strikes her, she goes through a file box and finds a financial connection to L-Corp] 

  Kara Danvers : Lena.

• Kara Danvers : I'm writing an article about Lex. I wanna expose him. I want to take him down and put an end to all of this.

  Lena Luthor : An exposé on Lex. That's quite an Everest.

  Kara Danvers : Uh, there was actually something I was hoping you could answer. Has L-Corp done business with AmerTek? Maybe on a-a military project?

  Lena Luthor : No, of course not.

  [sitting down] 

  Lena Luthor : Look, I'm sorry I can't help you with this right now. I'm... I'm trying to help James. You know, Alex is here. You haven't been around. Supergirl's been there for me. Person who judges me on the very premise of my last name, but my best friend hasn't.

  Kara Danvers : Lena, I'm... I'm sorry. I was... I was trying to catch Lex. For you. That's why I'm doing this. Of course I care about how you feel.

  Lena Luthor : You just care about me a little less than you do as a source for your story.

  Kara Danvers : No, no, it's not like that. I... I wish I could explain, but... but maybe it's better if I just go.

• Nia Nal : God, it just sucks out there. I wish we could do your "Aliens of National City" story with every alien. Then the humans would know that they don't need to be afraid of them.

  Kara Danvers : Maybe they just need to get to know one alien.

  Nia Nal : How do you mean?

  Kara Danvers : [amused laugh]  Nia... Nia! You and I have been so focused on fighting and reporting that maybe... maybe we forgot the most important part of being a hero is inspiring hope.

  Nia Nal : So Supergirl's coming back?

  Kara Danvers : The world doesn't need to hear from Supergirl right now. They need a hero who can speak to the conflict society is struggling with. Someone who is both alien and human. Someone who can bring them together.

  Nia Nal : How?

  Kara Danvers : I wanna interview you. An exclusive. I wanna introduce the world to Dreamer.

• Kara Danvers : You're gonna be great. You ready?

  Dreamer : As I'll ever be.

• Ben Lockwood : Dreamer, you are under arrest for using an illegal, seditious broadcast to incite violence.

  Kara Danvers : You're the only one inciting violence. We're unarmed.

  Ben Lockwood : This will be easy, then.

  Alex Danvers : [next to a fuse box]  Ready, Brainy.

  [she turns the power off; Kara and Dreamer use the darkness to escape] 

  Ben Lockwood : Where is she? Find her and detain her.

• Kara Danvers : [behind his back, fighting off an agent of Lockwood's]  Franklin, you saved me!

  Franklin : I did?

  Kara Danvers : Yeah. Let's take cover.

• Edna : I saw the Dreamer broadcast last night. It was inspiring. I realized you were right. The only way we can stop any of this is by exposing these people. I have something for you.

  [handing over a manila envelope] 

  Edna : I thought maybe these could help.

  Kara Danvers : [looking through the contents]  These are the acquisition papers for that military base. But they'll know it was you. What about your job?

  Edna : I don't care. In fact, if you need an AmerTek whistleblower, I'm willing to go on the record.

  Kara Danvers : This... is very brave of you.
