Described as "Band of Brothers" meets "The Walking Dead," War of the Dead is hitting Blu-ray and DVD just after the first of the new year from Entertainment One, and we have all the info you need on the film right here, including a trailer and some stills.
From the Press Release:
The "March of the Undead" continues from Entertainment One, home of all things that shamble with War of the Dead (UK DVD review here), an epic mashup of zombie and war films! In the record books as the most expensive film to ever be shot in Lithuania, it's certain to give you your fix if you're the kinda person who just can't resist a zombie in uniform. Could there be a better film to start off the New Year with?
The film is directed by Marko Mäkilaakso and stars Andrew Tiernan (300; The Pianist; Lock, Stock and Two Smoking...

Usually around this time of the year we list maybe 10 or 20 films that we think are as absolute ‘Must See’s’ for what the next 12 months of cinema has to offer us but as the clock is ticking ever closer to midnight on 2010, we thought we would challenge ourselves a little further this time around. The question I posed to the Owf staff recently was… can Cinema in 2011 produce enough ‘Must See’ films to hit 52, which would ratio out to be just one film per week? That’s all we are hopeful for here… just one film every Friday that justifies us parting with our ever increasingly important cash in these tough economic times.
Did we manage to find 52? Kind of.
There’s certainly 52 films listed here but once we got to around 30, the whole thing became a struggle and we had to fill it out disappointingly with the usual array of over-budgeted summer spectacles,...

As I mentioned recently, Hammer Films is starting production on The Woman in Black, starring Daniel Radcliffe.
Now we get news that Image Entertainment has acquired U.S. Distribution right for Hammer Films’ first production The Resident, starring Hilary Swank (The Reaping), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchman, Supernatural), Hammer Alum Sir Christopher Lee and Lee Pace (from the upcoming Twilight sequels)
The film tells the story of a doctor (Swank) who begins a new life in Brooklyn after separating from her husband. Her new loft seems too good to be true, but when strange events lead her to believe she’s not alone, she discovers that someone is watching her.
“The accomplished cast and creative team behind the film have done an extraordinary job in bringing this compelling and thrilling story to life,” says Image’s Bill Bromiley. “We are proud to be a part of the new Hammer family and...
