Phil Dunham has inherited a house, but he has to stay in it a month to keep it, so he takes best pal Lou Archer along to keep him company. Little does he suspect that his cousin, Anita Garvin, has rigged the house so he thinks it's haunted, leaves and lets her gain it in this decent comedy short from Jack White's operations.

Dunham and Archer are good comics, and they had good writers for this one. True, many of the gags are hackneyed and I am pretty tired of all Black people being terrified of any moving sheets because of ghosts. However the pacing and operations are top notch.

It's clear what's going on in the teaming of Dunham and Archer. There had been several attempts to put forth a comic duo for the movies. The most successful so far had been girl-and-boy acts, although Danes Carl Schenstom and Harald Madsen were very successful. What people were looking for, though they didn't know it, were Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, with their warm on-screen friendship. These two just didn't have it.
