At the end of The Undertaker vs. Edge match, when The Undertaker is celebrating his win, roughly 40 fans were hurt when some pyrotechnics accidentally made its way into the crowd. Some suffered burns and the Orlando Fire Department and Paramedics had to be called, but because of the traffic queues outside the Citrus Bowl, it took them 20 minutes as opposed to 5 minutes to get to the arena.
WWE used ten times more pyrotechnics for this event than on its regular shows.
The ring was set up at the Citrus Bowl's 50 yard line.
Not only was this the first WrestleMania to be shot in high-definition, but it was also the first WWE video to be released on the Blu-ray format.
Ric Flair's match against Shawn Michaels was supposed to be his retirement match. The next night on WWE Raw (1993), Flair gave a farewell speech and the entire roster paid tribute to him. But two years later, Flair joined TNA iMPACT! Wrestling (2004) because he missed the wrestling business. He finally retired in 2012.
