Sex & Nudity

  • An adult man removes his shirt to wash himself in a river. A teenage girl watches him with curiosity, hiding behind a tree.
  • A man is seen attacking a young woman, presumably to rape her. She screams and fights to try to get away. They are interrupted. No nudity is seen.
  • There is a reference to rape, however it is not shown

Violence & Gore

  • Decapitation, severing of limbs.
  • Although the violence & gore category says moderate, I would say it's severe. There are many detailed and bloody combat scenarios. There are assailants being decapitated, one of which is fine with multiple swings from a knife in detail. Solomon can be seen sticking a knife in an enemies side before dragging it up and opening the persons torso. An attacker goes to kill Solomon, he deflects it into another attacker before chopping his hand off. All of this is done in pretty bloody detail.
  • Some decapitations that involve blood spurts here and there. As well as stabbings and a crucifixion. The graphic violence is cut away quickly.

Profanity

  • Several uses of "damn", "hell" and "fool". Nothing particularly graphic.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Kane is drunk in a scene when he despairs in believing he will be damned.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The ongoing Heaven/Hell themes can be rough for some viewers, however there is a general message of redemption and good triumphing over evil

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • the main theme of the movie is that Solomon is an "evil man" and that Satan is coming to send him to hell. Solomon then realizes he doesn't want to go to Hell, and starts a path of peace and Christianity. Solomon then must start to kill again when the people he cares about are killed and one is kidnapped. Solomon wrestles with the fact he will burn if he kills again but decides to kill anyways.
  • Two main characters are revealed to be demons working for Satan and Solomon must confront his fear of killing again to take care of these people.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A young boy is brutally murdered in front of his parents. The father too is then killed. And then the boy's sister is kidnapped. Viewers may find this scene very intense and distressing.
  • The scene with cannibalistic zombies is quite frightening.
  • A scene where a seemingly innocent, young girl transforms into a witch may startle viewers.
