Fine porn mystery got lost in the shuffle
lor_7 January 2016
Quality production and execution in storyline porn is becoming a lost art, so I was gratified to discover "Web of Seduction", a minor feature than unfortunately has escaped detection. I attribute its obscurity to being a Jill Kelly production without Jill Kelly on screen (not a wise marketing decision).

I found it during my review of screenwriter Raven Touchstone's career via a Dutch DVD from Play House, a distributor in Holland that is quite active releasing British porn that is generally high quality. This Chatsworth title on its roster is an anomaly, but a pleasant one.

Star E. Knight is beautiful and shows acting chops in the central role of yet another erotic thriller directly inspired by the career-making success of Sharon Stone in "Basic Instinct". Poor Sharon frittered away much of that honor with her horrible made-in-England sequel to BI, and in fact the Raven Touchstone script for "Web" is good enough to have served La Stone well, minus the XXX moments.

Detective team of Joel Lawrence and John West are on the trail of a murderer who killed a prominent L.A. plastic surgeon, with novelist Amanda (played by Knight) as a prime suspect. She is just one of many femmes fatales on screen here, giving the audience plenty of suspicions to chew on in trying to guess who is the actual murderer.

Crime was committed at Eric Price's mansion (making him a suspect too), a place where all these rich and beautiful people hang out and are welcome for any manner of private tryst. Among the beauties on hand are Sondra Hall, Jordan Haze and Holly Hollywood - great lookers and for me refreshing in that they are NOT the usual suspects rounded up from Porn Central Casting.

Five hot sex scenes are integrated neatly into the police procedural format with both detectives getting involved in the XXX action. Eventual big showdown and a satisfying ending round out a minor but entertaining opus, highly recommended for storyline Adult fans. It also fits neatly into my newly created genre of Jazz Porn, sporting an excellent original score.
