    Valentine's Day

Don gives Ann diamond earrings for Valentine's Day and she is nervous about losing them.

A funny Season 3 episode. Many things go wrong making for good laughs. It begins with Ann have a soufflé which keeps falling. Don insists the Ann wear the earrings when they go out, he doesn't want her "bare-eared". Another funny scene when they dance the frug while Ann is afraid to move her head. More comic complications when she loses one of the earrings. Each try to replace it while the other doesn't know it.

    • Trivia
Just before clinking their glasses of champagne, Donald compliments Ann on her souffle with the words "a thing of beauty." When the souffle collapses because of the clink, Ann immediately counters Donald's statement with the words: "is not a joy forever." With the exception of the "not," these lines are borrowed from John Keat's poem "Endymion."
    • Goofs
If those earrings came from Tiffany's, they would've been in their signature light blue box, not a black one.
    • Quotes

Jerry Bauman: It's a unwritten rule for husbands.

Donald Hollinger: But I'm not a husband.

Jerry Bauman: Exactly. What Ruth going to say? Ann's not married but she gets diamonds. I've given Jerry the best years of my life and I get glazed nuts.
