Failed Attemp

The moive "Left Hand" or "Chap Dast" in Persian, is almost the failed attemp to copy the storyline from "50 First Dates" movies played by Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. The main story of the movie is exactly same with few changes to make more sense in the Iranian society and culture. Since the writer and director were limited to country laws and regulations, they had to remove the sexual and physical contact between the main character of the movie which makes it weird to watch.

They clearly failed to capture the remake the story of a guy who get interested in a girl who has lost her short term memory due to an accident she had. The scenarios and stories they make to establish a connection between the main characters where silly and often hilarious.

Somehow they didn't even bother to change the personalities of the side characters and still copy that from the "50 First Dates" movie. For example, how the girl's brother has some gay-ish behaviour and interested in faking training for sports and compettition. The girl's friend in the restaurant who are trying to protect her from guys who want to take advantage of her.

I'm not sure how it can be interesting to watch this movie, especially after you already watched the original movie and know the storyline.
