- A young man seeks out Reid for help regarding his fantasies of killing prostitutes, just as a serial killer starts brutalizing prostitutes near the capitol.
- When Dr. Spencer Reid is approached in Washington, D.C. by high-school boy Nathan Harris, who attends his lectures out of fascination, he realizes only after the kid leaves he might be a serial killer, which seems to check out after having the details he mentioned verified, the victims being prostitutes marked in the flesh by a sick mind who is tortured and wants to get caught. However there seems to be another killer at work...—KGF Vissers
- Reid is approached by a youth who previously saw him at a public speaking engagement. The youth is seemingly bright, but reserved and a loner. He also seems to know a lot about yet unpublicized murders of prostitutes in Washington, D.C. Before Reid can find out who he is, he runs off. But with the help of Garcia, they quickly identify him as high school sophomore Nathan Harris, who lives in a single parent household with his physician mother. Upon questioning by the BAU, Nathan, who is into violent graphic novels, admits that he has fantasized about killing prostitutes, but that he is not the killer and that he stumbled across one of the dead bodies, which again he admits excited him. Although the BAU don't believe Nathan is the killer, they have to put together a profile of the unsub to catch the killer. Regardless, Nathan wants to learn why he has these thoughts and as such will need some psychological and possibly psychiatric help. Reid takes a personal interest in his well being. Meanwhile, Hotch learns that he has to play politics if he wants to advance within the FBI ranks. This specific incident places a strain between himself and Prentiss, who he still does not fully trust. But the BAU come to believe that the unsub has his own political agenda.—Huggo
