If only professionals got a hold of this film

I watched this at a friend's house and thought "If Jack Black and maybe Collin Hanks starred in this film, it might not be half bad." But even for an independent, local, production, this movie is an utter disaster from start to finish with maybe one or two redeeming qualities. First of all, have the main stars ever seen a movie before? Watching this was like reading middle school poetry. They think they are awesome and write like they are awesome, but anyone can see that it is utter, useless, meaningless, garbage. Despite its many, many, many, many downsides, there were one or two things enjoyable. There is a scene where a character gets urinated on that the viewers can relate to because that is how you feel when you are watching this movie. But the only truly enjoyable parts, that could have saved the movie to a 4 maybe instead of a 2 if they were featured more, were the office militia guys who were actually pretty hilarious, especially the Dylan guy (hopefully this Bryan Ginn gets recognized one day). A movie featuring those two might make up for the brain cells I lost watching this one.

Hey Roman-Colombo check out Universal Soldiers...

I was critical of this film because I know some of the people (key grips rule...) but I gave it 10 stars because I also know the budget was less than my last paycheck. That being said, it was still funny and made me laugh more than once. If you want a bad, bad, so bad it hurts and they really should have known better, really that bad movie, check out Universal Soldiers. I mean the directors dad is even semi famous (Stephen Furst from Babylon 5), and the movie still sucked (and I bet they had a budget bigger than my annual salary for sure).

I will admit that your rating for Mandatory Overtime was 100% higher than my vote on Universal Soldier, but I still think 3.5 stars to 5 would be fair for this movie if I didn't know some of the crew and held it to a major league motion picture candle.

Anyway, I agree jack Black would have been funny for this one:)
