Bloody Awful
jonb-291 October 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I've given this travesty 2 out of 10 because as the other reviewer mentioned the actual production quality was OK. I try not to give too much away in reviews because I think they should be more about impressions than every single line spoken, shot filmed and such like.

In this case I make an exception. Filmed in four locations, the graveyard, the diner, the college rooms and the house, this is wildly boring. A family feud that results in the murder of the boyfriend/father back in the olden days (where everyone's shirts were amazingly fresh and white, as if!) has implications when the modern relatives meet up.

But it's not really about that at all, it's about four sick, twisted and generally scum American students who tape their "friend" having sex with his virginal girlfriend. After having filmed her having a nude wash through her window. And then they want to put it onto a porn site.

Not a very nice or polite thing to do. So when they get killed by the ghost that's her sort of partner from the olden days you can't help but feel; "Don't kill them so fast, make them suffer more". There was some astute writing in that they left the most foul American college student girl until last to be sent to hell.

Not a pleasant movie, especially as you're left thinking "I wanted those college students to scream in agony".

Another POS horror movie
tedthumb27 September 2008
For a minute I swore Blood Descendants was another Barnholtz Entertainment POS. I was wrong. This poorly done mess comes from writer/director Steven Charles Castle courtesy of Maverick Entertianment Group. It seems like nobody cares about making good movies along as the DVD cover is well done. Sorry state of affairs for movies.

I wonder if companies like Maverick Entertainment Group even bother to watch their own movies. It would seem they are too busy creating DVD covers to care. This story is about a deadly curse. The only curse is the one the unfortunate viewer of this movie gets. It ranked a 2 because the look and sound were good for a B grade movie. Other than that it was a POS story with bad directing and acting.

Nothing to see here

Warning: Spoilers
BLOOD DESCENDANTS is yet another straight-to-video indie horror flick with nothing to distinguish it from all the rest. This one's a rather laughable slasher which features wooden acting throughout and not much else. The killer's look is inspired by I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER, in other words derivative like everything else here. It's clear that a lot of effort has gone into this production, more so than usual, but you wonder why they bothered when it still ends up looking inferior to any studio picture.

The Best Horror Movie Ever Made...
bhsfacebook25 January 2020
... in East Lyme, CT. I mean, sure, it's tedious and amateurish. Sure, the acting is worthy of a school play. Sure, the CG are cheap and cheezy.

But there's no denying this was made in East Lyme. Its effects are similar to the disease for which the town is more famous.

YOUR DEBT HAS BEEN PAID
nogodnomasters21 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The description of the film explains the early mystery which is explained in detail about 20 minutes into the film. Back in 1866 Jacob Bradford was killed for impregnating a townie. Jacob was part of an Amish style community. He cursed the descendants and in a too often used plot...it is now time. Jenny (Christy O. Cianci) is his great granddaughter and is dating a townie as the killing commences.

The film was a low budget independent film and suffered from that aspect: Mediocre acting, trite plot, some sound issues, cheap effects, and my pet peeve the horror-demon voice enhancer. However on the plus side, the outdoor sound was professional. No mics in the picture and a decent metal sound track that they could have used more often.

I saw this as part of a 10 Horror film pact "Dark Disposition" which was in my local $3.74 US Walmart bin.

Guide: F-bomb, sex. No nudity.
