worth a watch

not sure why this hasn't been reviewed already, so il have a go...

i liked it, but it isn't the best anime I've ever seen...the animation is good, the characters likable (even the villains aren't totally evil), the storyline is interesting, so overall its pretty cool, but it just didn't light my fire the way really awesome animes like claymore, berserk or black lagoon did...

basically, mankind co-exists with vampires, and everything seems to be OK, except these new superbad vampires are feeding on their own kind and humans and causing havoc in a place called 'special district' and its up to a cool cat named Jirou (along with some other tough vampire types) to defeat these baddies and save everyone...

worth a watch if u have time to kill...

A solid vampire anime
Tweekums11 September 2019
This anime series is set in a world where humans and vampires coexist relatively peacefully in a Special Zone. That peace is threatened by a new breed of vampires; the so-called 'Kowloon Children'. Unlike normal vampires every human, or regular vampire, they bite becomes a Kowloon Child unless killed. The story is centred on an 'Old Blood' vampire named Jiro, known as the 'Silver Blade' and his brother Kotoro who head to Special Zone and are met by Mimiko Katsuragi, a 'compromiser' who's job is to liaise between humans and vampires. Soon Jiro finds himself in the battle against the Kowloon Children... who theoretically shouldn't be able to enter the Special Zone.

If you like vampires and anime this series is worth watching. It nicely follows many usual vampire tropes as well as adding a twist in the form of the Kowloon Children. The fact that these new vampires can't help converting those they feed on mean they aren't inherently evil; just a threat to the peace that still needs eliminating. Jiro is a solid protagonist; skilled but far from unbeatable and Mimiko and Kotaro are good secondary characters. The story provides plenty of action; this is exciting without being overly gory... being a vampire story there is obviously some blood spilt. The animation is good as are the character designs. Overall a pretty good series; I'd recommend it to fans of the genre.

These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.

Pretty neat anime

Warning: Spoilers
If you're into vampires in a lighter fighter firm, then this is definately for you friends! I thought J Michael Tatum as usual, was brillant with his role as Jiro Mochizuki. I wouldn't call this anime super dark as Hellsing or Black Butler was but it was pretty ok! The storyline was pretty interesting like it really got me hooked and made me want to explore episode's more.

I definitely give this anime a 8/10!

amazing series :-)

this is an amazing anime series and it's kind of a spin off of blade if you ask me since the hero has a sword, black blood brothers is full of intense action and full of blood and gore, anyone who likes Japanese anime, vampires, nonstop action, and blood, guts, and gore will love this :-), I guarantee :-), and all of the episodes are really bad ass, especially the last one which went freaking ballistic if you ask me, hahaha. I'm now currently watching a ninja series called basilisk right now, which i do really like so far, and then I'm gonna check out darker than black and soul eater after I finish with basilisk, and basilisk is also full of intense action and blood, guts, and gore as well, which is instantly right up my alley :-)

one of those stories that tries to be cool but gets confusing pretty fast

I started watching this pretty enthusiastic because the first episode let me think that this series could go in a nice direction. After episode 4 I was just like "uh huh, I'm at episode 4 of 12 and still no real story just some weirdly mixed up rules and characters". I stopped watching after the sixth oder seventh episode because it couldn't keep me awake. It was just boring, whatever was happening has not been thought over by whoever did this. It's pretty hard to follow because it's not always clear what's important, who is who, who knows whom why, what is why and why should I give damn about it? Only because the main character is kinda cool? No sorry, that's not making it for me, to me this is a big let down and I can't recommend it.
