Learn more- The Hollywood Graffiti Gown Documentary Synopsis Classic Media Entertainment Presents: THE HOLLYWOOD GRAFFITI GOWN BY JERAN Twenty four years ago notable Los Angeles based Emmy-nominated designers Jerry Skeels and Randy McLaughlin of Jeran Design have taken their long and impressive history of designing for some of Hollywoods greatest legends and conceived a creative and original way to fight AIDS. They created the Hollywood Graffiti Gown; its mission is to bring people of all ages, religion and culture together to make a significant impact through fashion and influence towards the fight against AIDS.
The Hollywood-based designers Jerry and Randy are celebrated for their glamorous hand-beaded gowns and creative designs. With nearly 30 years of design experience some of their most well-known designs have been worn by such legends as Joan Collins, Kim Novack, and Connie Selleca. Their gowns have appeared on TV shows and covers such as Playboy, Esquire, TV Guide, and People Magazine.
After years of gathering over 350 signatures and support Jerry Skeels and Randy McLaughlin have meticulously hand-beaded the signatures of some of the most influential actresses and women of the world onto The Hollywood Graffiti Gown. The result is nothing less that spectacular and a work of fashion and art, the end result is a striking German black velvet floor length couture gown with the collection of signatures belonging to renowned women in platinum beads, bugle beads, Rochelle beads and Swarovski crystal stones.
To date, the list of participating personalities reads like a female Who's Who including such notables as Elizabeth Taylor, Bette Davis, Katherine Hepburn, Rita Hayworth as well as Sophia Loren, Barbra Streisand, Sally Field and Sharon Stone. The Hollywood Graffiti Gown has made a powerful impact and is expected to raise significant funds worldwide with the proceeds donated to various AIDS charities. The gown will raise awareness, education and funds toward the prevention and cure for this devastating AIDS virus.
The gown was premiered on March 13th, 2004 at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' TV Cares 2004 Annual Ribbon of Hope Celebration where the designers were honored for the efforts. The event was hosted by Angela Lansbury who supplied her signature and was the honorary chair of the Television Academy's TV Cares foundation.
The Hollywood Graffiti Gown is due to tour the globe in the very near future. After completing a successful tour, The Gown will then be auctioned by a renowned auction house such as Christie's or Southeby's; opening bids are expected at $1 million. It is hoped that the winning bidder will eventually donate the gown to a national museum, such as the Smithsonian.
UK Based production company Classic Media Entertainment headed by Tyrone D Murphy produced a feature length Documentary of the Hollywood Graffiti Gown and was screened at the Lake Arrowhead Film Festival and won the best international documentary award
