To mark Cbbc’s thirtieth birthday, we delve into the Broom Cupboard to salute some cherished childhood memories…
On the afternoon of the 9th of September 1985, UK children were introduced to their new big brother. Phillip Schofield, a vision in a side-parting, a geometric print jumper and a beaming smile, arrived in the Children’s BBC Broom Cupboard to babysit the nation’s kids for an hour and a half every weekday.
Schofield’s job was to ferry us through the post-school slump and drop us off at Neighbours no later than 5.35pm. He let us watch cartoons, wished us happy birthday, praised our felt-tip drawings of Jimbo and the Jet Set, and never once told us off for eating too many packs of salt and vinegar Chipsticks before tea.
After Phillip came Debbie Flint, who was awesome because her earrings didn’t match, and then Andy Crane, who taught...

Instead of attending their Homecoming Dance as originally planned, two high school jocks decide to scare their dates with a Halloween prank by taking them to an abandoned house in the middle of a grapefruit orchard miles from town. According to legend, the owner of the house murdered his wife and her family and still roams the orchard in search of victims. Unfortunately for the teens, the story is anything but a legend.
The premise of The Caretaker is ideal slasher film fodder, as there is an urban legend, a group of naive teens, an isolated location, and a mad killer armed with a unique weapon of choice. Moreover, the film is competently directed with some impressive set pieces and a cast that is more than capable of carrying the film. However, it becomes...

I have seen some bad movies. I've seen The Devil's Rain. I've watched Don't Answer the Phone. I even survived the Star Wars Holiday Special. Nothing could prepare me for The Caretaker. The film was completed in 2008 and has not been released until now. That was a big hint. It stars Andrew St. John and Kira Verrastro. Despite this fact, Judd Nelson (John "eat my shorts" Bender) and Jennifer Tilly (Bride of Chucky) recieve top billing on the dvd cover to get you in the door, even though they are collectively in this movie for less than thirty minutes.

Cover art and a trailer are in for The Caretaker , an indie horror film from Bryce and Jackie Olson. It feels like we reported on this some time ago... we did . Mti Home Video is finally giving the title a proper release on DVD February 23. Jennifer Tilly, Judd Nelson and Jeepers Creepers ' Jonathan Breck star. A group of teenage boys out to give their girlfriends a good scare on Homecoming night, which also happens to be Halloween, head to an abandoned house in an out-of-the-way fruit orchard where they uncover the story of a real life urban legend. Every good slasher needs a hook - sometimes literally (i.e., I Know What You Did Last Summer). It's all about the look, the location, and/or the weapon of choice. The Caretaker killer is... Well, the title tells you his occupation. He appears to have a unique harvesting tool as his designated instrument of death.
The rest of the film looks like your typical teens in a dark house in the woods getting stalked and stabbed. But it also has Jennifer Tilly doing her crazy sexy shtick, so it might not be all bad.
