Pretentious failed experiment in porn
lor_20 June 2020
Starting with the old-fashioned opening credits sequence, David Stanley attempts a nostalgic Adult movie using several gimmicks that result in a terribly empty show.

The non-sex scenes are mainly in black & white, the costumes/settings and accordion music suggest a milieu of 1950s Paris, and above all the script has no dialog at all. Other self-indulgent touches include a Green Screen montage of driving around in a "let's pretend" format in which the leading characters have no cars but merely pantomime holding onto an invisible steering wheel, etc.

This all adds up to pretentious nonsense, merely showing how far former "wonder boy" porn auteur Stanley had strayed from what the Adult Entertainment audience wants to see in the 21st Century. Perhaps with fewer gimmicks he might have come up with a XXX movie equivalent to Woody Allen's later "Midnight in Paris", rather than such a bland, tough to sit through Carmen Hart vehicle.
