Each episode was conceived as independent from the other four but too as a five-parts story, allowing to the audience watch one or more episodes at will (ordered or disordered between 1 and 4; the 5th episode perforce must be watched the last for being the end of series), or all the episodes in chronological order.
The title of the series addresses about the song "See You Later, Alligator". It was written and performed in 1955 by Bobby Charles, being covered by several bands and singers with time, being the most known the version of Bill Haley and the Comets. In Spain it was sung in 1982 by the child band Parchís, hence the title of the series.
Every episode of the series starts with the same scene (meeting at Mario's house for New Year's Eve) but with different angles of camera to focus in the main characters for every episode.
The series makes a review to then recent events in Spain history, giving to the audience a time date and a chronology through the episodes: last days of the Francoist Regime (late 60s-early 70s), death of General Franco (1975), and first visit to Spain of Pope John Paul II (1982). Other years seen in the series are 1983, 1988, 1989 and new year's eve 1990-91.
