The Voice's Josh Logan Talks Supernova, Stevie Wonder and Criticism Over His 'Crazy' Cover
Michael Jackson, Sean Lennon, Brandon Quintin Adams, and Kelley Parker in Moonwalker (1988)
As a veteran of 2006′s Rock Star: Supernova, Josh Logan knows better than any of his current Voice counterparts what national TV exposure can do for the career prospects of a working musician — and how important it is to capitalize on said momentum.

“After Rock Star, I was definitely doing more high profile gigs. I was playing in Iceland. I was playing in Canada. And I was making a hell of a lot more money than before,” Logan recalls. “The problem was, I really didn’t move as quickly as I should have. I dropped the ball.”

'American Idol' Recap: Tiny Tots, Poshbot-2000 Overshadow Denver Hopefuls
"American Idol" made a fatal flaw Tuesday night during its Denver audition show. No, not by inviting back Victoria Beckham as a guest judge. (The Poshbot-2000 was actually pretty engaging this episode. She must have been rewired since the premiere.) "Idol" producers erred by reminding viewers of Daughtry's classic Denver audition right at the top of the show. Nothing in the remaining 59 minutes of "Idol" would come close to that star-making moment.

And if you just uttered the words "Bikini Boy," I kindly ask that you close this Internet window and never read one of my recaps again. Honestly, it's not worth your time because I don't speak the language on Planet Idiot.

Throughout the episode, Seacrest kept shouting at viewers in voice-overs touting Denver as one of the most promising cities yet. But the proof wasn't in the pudding we saw. Instead we had Nicci Nix, a girl who...

Allison Iraheta Just Like You Track Listing Revealed
'American Idol' alum worked with both pop and rock writers/producers for December 1 disc.

By Gil Kaufman

Let the rock-off begin! Just days after the track listing and 30-second samples of Adam Lambert's For Your Entertainment were revealed, the tracks and talent roster for fellow "American Idol" alum Allison Iraheta's Just Like You have been unveiled. The list of familiar contributors to the album suggests that while Iraheta is digging into her rock roots, she's also seriously indulging her pop side as well.

Like Lambert, Iraheta tapped "Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi for some songwriting help for the LP, due out December 1. Kara penned "No One Else" with Pink (listed by her birth name, Alecia Moore) and Grammy-nominated producer/writer Greg Wells (Katy Perry, OneRepublic, Kelly Clarkson), who also contributed to Lambert's album.

Iraheta has several songs written and...

Josh Wolk's Pop Culture Club talks 'Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew': Silly, then powerful, then back again
Welcome back to the Pop Culture Club, where this week we visited one of my pet obsessions, Dr. Drew's latest “D-listers get the D.T.'s” series: Sex Rehab. I have been down this road with Dr. D for two Celebrity Rehabs and a Sober House, and — to use the most common pun possible for this show — I'm addicted. The dilemma I always face in watching his shows is that I can never decide whether it's exploitative or not. Do you remember, from when you were kids, the "That's good/that's bad" story? Someone would tell a long shaggy dog...

Want to hear what Allison Iraheta's 'Holiday' sounds like? Then check out our exclusive stream of the video...by 'Rock Star: Supernova' star Dilana!
As an American Idol obsessive, I was too burnt out from the epic aftermath of Daughtry-Elliott-Taylor-Katharine-Paris-Kellie Awesomeness (aka season 5) to pay strict attention to Rock Star: Supernova when it debuted in July 2006. Still, several of my EW colleagues got deeply invested in the show, which was enough to get me to tape -- on VHS! in my pre-dvr days! how tragique! -- a few episodes, and thereby discover the raspy pleasures of eventual runner-up Dilana. And good thing I did, too, because as an Idol obsessive, hers is a name that's become increasingly important to know. First off, when I...

'Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew' premiere: Sure, why not make a bunch of sex addicts live together?
Here's the problem with these rehab-on-tv shows: They are showing rehab. On TV. Um, most sobriety programs have "anonymous" in their names for a reason. Because anonymity is a key aspect of getting over addictions, which means television might make the process a bit tougher. VH1's Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew becomes the latest semi-serious attempt to depict the process of overcoming addiction. And with its Sunday premiere, the series, like Celebrity Rehab before it, achieved the same odd combination of attacking important issues and allowing a salacious look at people who seem far worse off than most of us.

Motley Crue Settle Manager Lawsuit
Latest: Motley Crue stars Vince Neil, Mick Mars and Nikki Sixx have reportedly settled a $20 million (GBP10 million) lawsuit against bandmate Tommy Lee's manager Carl Stubner.

The rockers filed the suit against Stubner in June accusing him of becoming too focused on Lee's career to the detriment of the band, citing breach of fiduciary duties and constructive fraud.

They claimed Stubner damaged Lee's reputation by signing him up for a series of reality shows including Rock Star: Supernova and Tommy Lee Goes to College, and then took the drummer away from rehearsals, recording and touring with Motley Crue by loading his schedule with other commitments.

The complaint also stated that their former manager had demanded an increase in his commission and threatened to make Lee unavailable for their 2006 Red, White and Crüe tour if they didn't comply.

A judge in California previously ordered the stars to amend the suit, which asked for more than $20 million (GBP10 million) for loss of earnings and profits, with more evidence of wrongdoing before the lawsuit could go further.

But according to Blabbermouth.net, the band have now arrived at a settlement agreement with Stubner. The two-page document states a request for dismissal will be filed by 31 May on the successful completion of the undisclosed terms arrived at by the warring parties.

A hearing scheduled for Friday has also been cancelled.

Rock Star: Supernova (2006)
Supernovas reconcile on nomenclature
Rock Star: Supernova (2006)
A settlement has been reached in the dispute involving the name of the band on the CBS show Rock Star: Supernova. The superstar TV band, which used the show to search for a lead singer, has agreed to tweak its name to avoid confusion with a lesser-known Orange County, Calif., band named Supernova. U.S. District Judge John Houston of San Diego had granted attorneys for the local Supernova band a preliminary injunction preventing the group being formed on CBS' Supernova from performing or recording under that name (HR 9/14). That ruling came one day before the airing of the Mark Burnett-produced show's final episode Sept. 13. The settlement follows a subsequent meeting between the parties and the judge.

'Supernova' name flames out
Rock Star: Supernova (2006)
NEW YORK -- As musicians and producers prepared to tape Wednesday night's season finale of CBS' Rock Star: Supernova, a federal judge handed down a preliminary injunction barring the band formed in the show from using its name after the reality series concludes. U.S. District Judge John Houston of San Diego granted attorneys for the Orange County, Calif.-based band Supernova a preliminary injunction preventing the group being formed on CBS' Supernova from performing or recording under that name. Tuesday's ruling came one day before the airing of the Mark Burnett-produced show's final episode. On Wednesday, attorneys were waiting for the judge to set a bond to be posted by the plaintiffs in order to have the preliminary injunction go into effect, though nothing was expected to prevent the TV show's airing.

'Stars' still shining for ABC on Wed.

NEW YORK -- Dancing With the Stars pulled out another win Wednesday with a results show that knocked out MSNBC host Tucker Carlson, but Matt Lauer's interview with disgraced teacher Debra LaFave on Dateline NBC nearly toppled it in the adults 18-49 demographic. Dancing was tops in key measures for the night in broadcast primetime, averaging 16.3 million viewers and a 4.1 rating/13 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to Nielsen Media Research. It easily won the hour against the finale of CBS' Rock Star: Supernova (7 million, 3.1/9), in which Canadian Lukas Rossi rocked to victory in the singing competition; Fox's Bones (8.4 million, 2.8/9); and the first half of Dateline: To Catch a Predator (9 million, 3.3/9). But the ratings turned toward NBC at 9 p.m. for the much-hyped exclusive interview with the teacher who had sex with a 14-year-old student. More than 10.7 million viewers tuned in for the program, which delivered a 3.9/11 in the demo in the 9 p.m. hour.

Fox's 'Bones' helps bury rivals Wed.
Fox took Wednesday night with fresh installments of dramas Bones and Justice on a night otherwise dominated by repeats and specials. Fox won the first hour of primetime in viewers with Bones averaging 9 million viewers and 2.8 rating 9 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary estimates from Nielsen Media Research. CBS' Rock Star: Supernova (7 million, 3.1/10) rocked on with the night's highest adults 18-49 score. NBC had little traction with a fresh episode of the defunct reality series Fear Factor (4.9 million, 1.9/6) at 8 p.m. At 9 p.m. Justice (8.5 million, 2.9/8) did modest business against wall-to-wall repeat competition, though it did hold the bulk of its lead-in. At 10 p.m., NBC's Law & Order repeat (9.1 million, 2.8/8) topped ABC's Primetime: Medical Mysteries (6 million, 2.2/6) and NBC's 9/11: Five Years Later special (5.9 million, 2.1/6) hosted by new CBS News anchor Katie Couric. For the night, Fox led with 8.8 million viewers and 2.8/8 in adults 18-49.

CBS is 'Rock' solid on Wednesday
Rock Star: Supernova (2006)
Rock Star: Supernova averaged 6.4 million viewers and a 2.7 rating/9 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary ratings estimates from Nielsen Media Research. It was the highest rated show in the demographic all Wednesday, beating out by one-tenth of a point a 10 p.m. repeat of CSI: New York (8.8 million, 2.6/7). The 9 p.m. hour went to CBS's repeat Criminal Minds (8.3 million, 2.3/7), which towered over a repeat of the second-season premiere of Fox's Prison Break (5 million, 1.9/6) and sitcoms on ABC and NBC. The night's only other original program was ABC's Primetime: Medical Mysteries (6.9 million, 2.5/7), which was a tenth of a point behind CSI: NY and ahead of a repeat Law & Order (6.4 million, 2.2/6) over on NBC. Nightly averages: ABC (5.5 million, 2.0/6); CBS (7.8 million, 2.5/8); NBC (5.7 million, 2.1/6); Fox (5.1 million, 1.8/6); The WB (1.6 million, 0.6/2) and UPN (1.5 million, 0.6/2...

Charvet & Burke Engaged
Former Baywatch star David Charvet and Rock Star: Supernova host Brooke Burke are engaged and expecting a child together. Charvet proposed during a "summer party" he threw on Saturday night, according to Burke. She tells American publication People, "It was a total surprise. It was all very romantic. He's my best friend." Charvet gave his new fiancee an eternity band engagement ring because "it's forever" says Burke. The couple, who are both 34, have known each other for years, but only started dating last year, during Rock Star: INXS. At that time Burke had just separated from her husband, Dr. Garth Fisher, a plastic surgeon featured on US network ABC's Extreme Makeover. The couple have two daughters - Neriah, six, and Sierra, four.

'Last Comic' has NBC smiling Tuesday
NEW YORK -- The laughs just kept coming for NBC on Tuesday, with the next-to-last Last Comic Standing helping NBC to a nightly tie with CBS's own stable of reality shows. Last Comic Standing (7.7 million, 3.2 rating/9 share) was the night's winner in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary data released Wednesday by Nielsen Media Research. It won its hour in total viewers and missed out on the nightly win in viewership to NBC's 10 p.m. repeat of "Law & Order: SVU" (8.4 million, 3.0/8). Last Comic Standing ends tonight with a results show that will crown a winner. But CBS tied with NBC for the primetime victory, on the strength of Big Brother (7.6 million, 2.8/9), Rock Star Supernova (6.2 million, 2.8/8) and 48 Hours Mystery (6.9 million, 2.3/6). Nightly averages: ABC (4.7 million, 1.6/5); CBS (6.9 million, 2.7/8); NBC (7.1 million, 2.7/8); Fox (6.8 million, 2.2/7); The WB (2 million, 0.8/3); and UPN (1.3 million, 0.5/2).

Electra Slams Foxx Rumors
Carmen Electra has slammed media reports she is dating Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx, insisting "there's not an ounce of truth" to any of the rumors. The former Baywatch star announced her split from rocker husband Dave Navarro last week and media reports already had her getting cozy with Foxx. Witnesses swear they spotted the newly single star hanging out at Hollywood hot spot Element last Saturday, but Electra says it's not true. In fact, she claims she was at home that night watching TV - with Navarro. Regarding the Foxx rumor she tells American publication People, "Dave thinks it's funny, but I'm upset because there's not one ounce of truth (to it)." Though officially split, the couple are still living together for now in their Beverly Hills home. A source close to the actress says, "There's a positive way of remaining friends." Navarro was still wearing his wedding ring at the July 23 taping of his TV reality show Rock Star: Supernova, but still ogled co-host Brooke Burke and exclaimed, "Damn, she's hot!"...
