Basic with a Twist of Basic
payasoingenioso26 January 2021
The acting and plot are palpable.

The soundtrack and cinematography seem dated. VHS dated. Almost 80s movie reel dated.

I watched through to the end because I needed a clean resolution. And the film provided that.

A lonely young man in an old big empty house confused about his mental state and history, getting worse
clanciai13 July 2019
This is not a good film. It is well made, its greatest asset is the wonderful music, but the story does not hold water. The tempo is too slow all the way, and Darren Kendrick, although acting well, makes a dull and almost debile character - he commits mistakes all the time, the only convincing thing about him is his constant confusion, and the story gets side-tracked all the time into blind alleys, offering spectacular intentional question marks without any answers. The characters are not convincing, and when the film in the end finally tries to explain everything, it gets muddled up in a flood of new information that only adds to the confusion of the script. There is no clarity at all. As the film keeps building up in suspense and inttrigue, you are prone to expect some conclusion, but it all ends up in just a mess. There are too many murders, too many crimes, too many unresolved mysteriers, too many loose ends and too many people involved in them, dead and alive, making the film slowly but irrevocably over-burdened, too much confusion and no satisfactory reward for the audience in the end for having patiently followed Darren Kendrick all the way in and out of his confusions, so this is not a film I could recommend to anyone. You have to wait through all the film for a final gun to turn up - that's what primarily is missing here.

A Complete Disorder
michael-daniels-845211 February 2018
This movie is certainly worthy of its title. Low budget, poor acting, direction, script and camerawork, making it a complete disorder. I have no idea how this farce ever got made. The lead parades around the scenes like "Mr Dead" I guess if you are keen on movies produced by college students on a media course, then this is will be right up your street!

Dull psychological thriller on an indie budget
Leofwine_draca16 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
DISORDER is a psychological thriller made on an indie budget. It's a film featuring one of the most unconvincing death scenes ever shot (the stabbing of the woman) along with a tired 'is he crazy?' type plot in which a schizophrenic is accused of murder and must try to work out who the real killer is. This is a film that doesn't keep you interested at all, it just looks and feels cheap and dull.

Mediocre, low-class and outdated
rust3729 October 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I'm sure the whole project was about the script, which, thanks to some twists in last 10 minutes, helped to get the budget. Everything apart the plot was mediocre.

As a schizophrenic-centered movie it didn't reach even one-third of the Spider's depth, despite all the chances. As a slow-paced thriller it lacked good direction, camera.. at least something, which could have saved it, so it didn't stand even to Identity. 1,5 hours lasted for me like twice longer due to repetitive sets, lack of ideas, and poor acting.

There are plenty of movies exploiting "is it real?" riddle, and this one didn't reveal anything new in this genre except of how low in class can it go. Finally, it's so outdated as if the film was kept on some dusty shelf during last 30 years.

Give it a try if only you have nothing more to watch or if you want to save on a medium-potency sleeping pill.

Terrible Movie
peter20032004200128 October 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This has to be one of the worst movies we have ever seen, we rarely write reviews but this movie really takes the cake, lame, repetitive and largely the same theme over and over again. The acting skills were not too bad but it just didn't help the movie in the end. I don't understand anyone thinking this movie is riveting or full of suspense. We had to force ourselves to watch this movie to the end for the first time in our lives we actually threw this movie into the garbage and regretted ever having bought the movie it was money down the drain. The writers and producers of this movie should really go back to the drawing board and start over again, maybe next time they should consult with people like John Carpenter or Stephan King to get an idea of how a good thriller/horror should be done.

I enjoyed this film
moviesmw3 November 2006
I thought this was a very well made film. It was suspenseful and well shot. I read a couple of the reviews below and I'm not sure if they watched the same movie I did. The acting was great and the story was well told. Maybe they didn't understand the story.

The director did a great job with what was obviously a limited budget. The lead actor's performance was great. The lighting was dark and moody. The way the film was shot made it feel very isolated and you could feel for the main character's pain and torture.

I'm going to recommend this film to everyone I know. It's worth giving it a shot.

Plodding eyeball roller with a predictable ending
southampton-0358326 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It started out ok, but soon starts to plod along, stabbing after stabbing, with laughably bad death scenes. The lead actor was somewhat convincing, but the remaining cast were lacking as either wooden or unconvincing. Most irksome was how the killer, who handily disposed of half a dozen victims, including several strapping young lads, with relative ease, is consistently outfought by the target of his unrepentant love and corresponding violence: a small-framed, unassuming young woman, a la Halloween. The ending is predictable, and follows the post-millennium rule (law?) that he is outfought and done in by the said same. On the up side, the lighting and camera work were ok.

Disorder ROCKS
clorrah5 November 2006
'Tis truly a shame that some of the jealous reviewers here have never seen the movie yet feel the need to type a so-called 'review.' Isn't envy one of the 7 deadly sins? Darren Kendrick gives a poignant performance as David Randall, the psychologically disturbed lead character in Disorder. I was lucky enough to be at the premiere of Disorder in New York City at the Pioneer Theater and watching it on the big screen was a tremendous treat for me.

The surprise ending was shocking yet at the same time, saddened me.

I highly recommend this film - it's so much more than just a 'popcorn' movie....it actually makes you use your brain. Imagine that? My lobotomized friend, Peter R., wasn't able to enjoy it as much as myself, but I could tell by his slobbering that he found it captivating, none the less.

Highly recommended.

Disorder(2006
hkoleary22 August 2006
I live in Atlanta, Ga and saw the theatrical release of the film, "Disorder" in New York City at the Pinoeer theater on Monday, August 21st. It was riveting. The movie's twist and turns kept you on the edge of your seat the entire time. The director/writer/producer, Jack Thomas Smith, also managed to incorporate humor in his thriller which only added to the amazing quality of the film. The lead actor, Darren Kendrick, gave a stellar performance. He was most believable. The lead actress compliment the film with her sweet disposition and let's not forget her beauty. The film doesn't have a large cast, but it is a GIANT cast. Great performances by all. The film is one of the best thrillers I have seen in a long time. I am telling everyone to go see it. Kudos to everyone who worked on this film!!!!

Excellent Psycho-Suspense Thriller!
go2dean11 April 2020
This movie really draws you in and keeps you engaged with different twists and turns. It also keeps you guessing and speculating which is what a great suspenseful crime-thriller is supposed to do.

Jack Thomas Smith is a GREAT writer and he's just getting warmed up. Horror is Smith's real-jam so we can't wait to see what's coming up next.
