Completely Manic!

There's a lot to love here! Funny gags, creativity, kooky characters, hilarious narration, fourth wall breaking.

I feel a bit exhausted after sitting through the twenty minutes though - it's just so fast paced. Things happen at a mile a minute, it's too easy to miss some of the jokes. I also think way too many characters are introduced in the first episode - it's impossible to keep track of them all. Better to have focused on just a few characters each episode.

I don't see how this would have appealed to kids - it's just too intelligent. I think there is an untapped adult audience for this show.

Despite the crazy pace I still have to rate it very highly for sheer imagination and zaniness. I don't know how they came up with so much unadulterated madness in merely 20 minutes!

Trivia: Rocko's Modern Life allusion
scummbuddy4 April 2007
To start off, Charles Adler is a fantastic voice artist, whose characters span many, many cartoons. In Earthworm Jim, he voiced Professor Monkey-for-a-Head. When making this show, he was also employed on Rocko's Modern Life. He voiced many characters, but mostly known for Ed and Bev Bighead.

Now, those two love toads get to make a special guest appearance in the pilot episode of Earthworm Jim. Right after Princess WHN breaks free from her chains. They are seen in the lower right corner just before a sea creature eats them.

Quite funny allusion.
