This was a pairing that did very little for me as a child, particularly "Scooby Doo and Cyclops Too" (one of the few episodes from any of the 80s Scooby Doo shows that was very difficult to get into). There have been episodes from most of the shows in the franchise that didn't do much for me as a child but have gone up in my estimations ("Don't Fool with a Phantom", "The Tar Monster"), and was hoping to be proven wrong.

As a young adult, "Scooby of the Jungle" did fare quite a bit better. Am still not a fan, a case of an episode that starts off well but running out of steam. "Scooby Doo and Cyclops Too" however is still difficult to get go, whenever sporadically rewatching 'The Scooby and Scrappy Doo Show' (a show that actually improved to me overtime) there has always been a serious temptation to skip it. Of the double bills, this is one of the lesser ones.

"Scooby of the Jungle" (6/10)- Uneven but very watchable. It benefits from its colourful setting and nice character moments. The mystery does start off well and has a good idea, was surprised by the identity of the perpetrator and the plan was fairly different. Music and voice acting are fine and the retrieving of the whistle is classic Scooby Doo-like.

It does run out of steam in the second half and quite badly, where the story did thin out and it got predictable and at times bizarre like with the animals. The writing got sillier too, especially towards the climax, and despite a good build up the villain didn't live up to it to me, he could have been more menacing and less silly. Scrappy doesn't add an awful lot, other than reacting to the sound that only animals can hear.

"Scooby Doo and Cyclops Too" (4/10)- Very indifferent and one of the show's weakest. Did like the animation, music and regular voice acting and it did show some degree of promise at the start.

Unfortunately, overall it was a very dull and strange episode that is not particularly eventful until the rushed and tension free ending. The humour is not enough and is uninspired, which made Shaggy and Scooby not shine as much, and the suspense is not there as everything about the mystery is obvious very early on with suspects being few. The villains are weak, lack menace and are obvious, not particularly well voiced either. Interesting to see one of them looking like Peter Lorre but that's where the good things about the character ends.

Overall, marginally watchable as a double bill but only just. On its own "Scooby Doo and Cyclops Too" is easily skippable if given a choice. 5/10.
