Marvel has released an official photo from their upcoming new series Inhumans. The image give us our first look at the Royal Family, which consists of Eme Ikwuakor as Gorgon, Ken Leung as Karnak, Anson Mount as Black Bolt, Serinda Swan as Medusa, Isabelle Cornish as Crystal, and Iwan Rheon as Maximus. They all look great in their roles!
After the Royal Family of Inhumans is splintered by a military coup, they barely escape to Hawaii where their surprising interactions with the lush world and humanity around them may prove to not only save them, but Earth itself.
I'm excited to see how this series turns out because of how ambitious and epic we've heard it's going to be. During an interview with EW, Showrunner Scott Buck (Dexter, Iron Fist) talks about the series and the way they are approaching the story explaining, “We approach these [characters] all as real people...

Marvel's Inhumans series is currently shooting in Hawaii, and today we have a bunch of photos from the set and a video for you to check out. They give us our first look at actor Anson Mount in the role of Black Bolt all decked out in black leather, and the coat he's wearing features a lightning bolt-like design on his chest. It's definitely a different character design than the comic version. Then there's a giant blue stand-in for the big 2,000 pound pet dog Lockjaw. The dog will obviously be a CG animated creation. It's gotta fun acting alongside a big blue model of a dog! Check out the photos and video below!

This past week Marvel has bombarded us with casting new for their ambitious Inhumans series. So far we've got Anson Mount (Hell on Wheels) playing Balck Bolt, Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones) playing Maximus the Mad, Serinda Swan (Smallville) taking on the role of the queen, Medusa, and Ken Leung playing Karnak, Black Bolt’s cousin and closest advisor.
The studio has now announced the rest of the main cast of the series, which will include the roles of Gorgon, Crystal, Triton, and Auran. Below you'll find a breakdown of each of these characters and who is playing them:
Eme Ikwuakor (“Concussion,” “Extant”) as Gorgon – Cousin of Black Bolt (Anson Mount), member of the Royal family, and leader of Attilan’s military. With super strong legs, complete with hooves, he can generate destructive seismic waves with a single stomp. The yin to his cousin Karnak’s (Ken Leung) yang, Gorgon...

Marvel is quickly bulking up the cast for their Inhumans series. We've got Anson Mount (Hell on Wheels) playing Balck Bolt, Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones) playing Maximus the Mad, and Serinda Swan (Smallville) taking on the role of the queen, Medusa. The latest edition to the cast in former Lost actor Ken Leung, who recently worked on NBC's The Night Shift and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
According to Variety, he will take on the role of a character named Karnak. He is Black Bolt’s cousin and closest advisor. "His gift is an ability to see the fault in all things — people, plans, structures, everything. He’s Black Bolt’s most ardent supporter and strategist and is often seen as the royal family’s planner and philosopher."

Marvel’s upcoming series Inhumans has just cast one of its lead actresses. Smallville alum Serinda Swan will take on the role of Medusa, the Queen of the Inhumans and wife of Black Bolt (Anson Mount) in the series. If for some reason you don't recognize her, Swan caught the eyes of fanboys everywhere when she played Zatanna in Smallville.
The character is described as being Black Bolt’s most trusted advisor, "a fiercely resilient warrior who has the ability to move and control her hair the way most people use their hands and fingers."
Marvel TV head and executive producer Jeph Loeb had this to say in a statement to EW:
"Serinda empowers Medusa’s regal glory and still maintains a relatability that synced perfectly with the character. She is nothing short of wonderful."
Showrunner Scott Buck added:
"Serinda Swan brings a regal elegance, as well as a sense...

Hell on Wheels star Anson Mount has been cast in the lead role of Black Bolt in Marvel's upcoming cosmic superhero series The Inhumans. Black Bolt is the enigmatic, commanding King of the Inhumans, who has a voice that's so powerful the slightest whisper can destroy a city.
For years Vin Diesel was linked to this role when Marvel was making the movie. With this TV series happening now, though, I don't think we'll be seeing that movie anytime soon, if ever.
I don't know if any of you have watched Hell on Wheels, but it's a great show worth checking out, and Mount does a solid job in it. He's no Vin Diesel, but I think he'll do a great job in the role of Black Bolt. When talking about the actor, Jeph Loeb, Head of Marvel Television said:
"Anson loves the challenge of playing a character who will only communicate silently.

Marvel has cast their leading man in their upcoming ambitious series Inhumans. Game of Thrones actor Iwan Rheon has been cast in the role of Maximus in the series. Thanks to THR, we have some details on the version of the character in the series, saying:
Inhumans will explore the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt and the royal family. In the eight-episode straight-to-series drama, Maximus is a clever and charming Inhuman that is fiercely devoted to the people of Attilan, especially his brother, the King — though he harbors an intense desire to wear the crown himself.
In a statement, Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb said:
"Iwan's ability to be charming, roguish and still completely unexpectedly dangerous were all the different sides we needed to bring the character to life. We’re thrilled to have him on board," Marvel TV head Loeb said.

Marvel and ABC have hired feature film director Roel Reine to helm the first two IMAX episodes of their new series The Inhumans. Reine has worked on a ton of B-movie film projects such as Death Race 2, The Marine 2, The Lost Tribe, The Scorpion King 3, The Man with the Iron Fists 2, Hard Target 2, and others.
The list of films should give you a good idea of what we can expect from The Inhumans. Those films definitely aren't the greatest movies in the world, but some of them have been fun and entertaining. He's probably not the director I would have gone with, but let's see what he ends up doing with the property and the characters. He must've had a great pitch meeting with Marvel, otherwise he wouldn't have landed the gig.

We haven’t covered Roxlou Games’ “Unwritten” yet here at MTV Multiplayer, mostly because there are about a billion Kickstarter campaigns games that all look fascinating, that all deserve your attention and money.
Here’s the thing, though: “Unwritten” has actually been funded and comes courtesy of designer Joe Houston, who earned his stripes on Arkane’s “Dishonored” team. It’s a lot easier to cover games that have made it out of the purgatorial mire that is Kickstarter, so here we are.
In “Unwritten,” you’ll lead a nomadic tribe toward God Mountain, interacting with other tribes, finding food, and passing stories down through the generations along the way. The randomly-generated maps, enemies, and story elements, coupled with the game’s permadeath, have Houston and his team to calling “Unwritten” a “strategy rogue-like.” The big-picture set-up is simple: move your units, turn by turn, across a hexagonal map.

Saw I-iii and Piranha 3D star Dina Meyer will be joining Anthony Michael Hall (The Breakfast Club The Dark Knight, Weird Science), Danny Trejo (Machete, Predators) and Mickey Rourke (Sin City) in Dead in Tombstone, the Roel Reine-directed action adventure film that's now filming in Bucharest, Romania. Bloody Disgusting exclusively reported the film back in January. Penned by Shane Kuhn and Brendan Cowles, with revisions by Michael Weiss, "Trejo plays Guerrero Hernandez, the unquestioned leader of the Blackwater Gang of outlaws. But after freeing his half-brother Red (Hall) from prison, Guerrero's plan to loot the mining town of Edendale backfires spectacularly -- because Guerrero is shot to death by his own brother, the treacherous Red. After making a deal with the Devil (Rourke), Guerrero comes back from the dead a year later, to seek his revenge, and the town (which has been renamed Tombstone) will soon have its dusty...

Bloody Disgusting exclusively learned that Roel Reiné, who has directed a slew of direct-to-disc titles including The Marine 2, The Lost Tribe, The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption, Death Race 2 and Death Race: Inferno, is getting behind the camera for Dead in Tombstone. Lensing this March in Bucharest, Romania, the director has made a deal with the Devil to make yet another title for Universal Pictures. No word on if there is a theatrical plan for this sucker. Penned by Shane Kuhn and Brendan Cowles, with revisions by Michael Weiss, we're told the film follows the protagonist Guerrero Hernandez, the leader of the Blackwater Gang of outlaws. Hernandez frees his half-brother Red from a prison, only to be shot in the back. Hernandez makes a deal with the Devil for revenge.

Guest review by Dog Ate My Wookie
Stars: Lance Henriksen, Brianna Brown, Emily Foxler, Nick Mennell | Written by Mark E. Davidson | Directed by Roel Reiné
You begin to question after a while how many direct-to-dvd films — often in the sci-fi/horror categories as they’re undoubtedly the ones that spawn the craziest ideas – are released every month, most of which I’ve never even heard of. Primevil is the latest, with a DVD cover as ominous as the next.
When a group of friends are capsized after rescuing a wounded man from the sea, they’re stranded on a seemingly uninhabited island. Exploring the jungle the following day, they uncover a recently abandoned military camp and an archaeological dig site, but no people. Quickly, they’re led to believe that they’ve been followed, with the strange noises and unsettling movements in the distance proving that they’re most certainly not alone.

“Primevil”, not to be confused with a number of other recent similarly titled creature features, was originally released as “The Lost Tribe”, and was presumably renamed to suggest less anthropology and more horror. Though depressingly generic, the new title is actually kind of fitting, being the original working moniker for “Predator”, a film which director Roel Reiné quite openly attempts to ape, along with various others such as “The Descent”. Reiné has a reasonable career in direct to DVD schlock, having helmed sequels “Scorpion King: Rise Of the Dead”, “Death Race 2” and “The Marine 2”, though this time at least has the backing of a high profile producer in Irvin Kershner (“Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back”). Boasting a slightly higher than average budget for this kind of affair, the film also features a decent cast including Brianna Brown (also in the underrated backwoods chiller “Timber Falls...

It’s Sammo Hung who deserves the kudos for this sequel.
It may be Donnie Yen’s reprisal of Ip Man, the man who would mentor Bruce Lee if you’re unfamiliar with this man’s provenance, who is bringing the same kind of furious fists and feet that he brought to the first film or director Wilson Yip’s fresh take on a genre that has been beaten like the prunish face of any man coming out of the well-choreographed fight sequences but it’s really all about the action when it comes to Ip Man 2. It’s the latter of these points that explains why this film needs to be consumed and enjoyed for what it is and not,...

I noticed today that my local mail man looks identical to Danny Trejo, which rocks! Only thing I was hoping for was to see some machine guns or machete's fall from the back of his postal truck. At any rate, the point of this article is to show a killer featurette clip from the upcoming flick “Death Race 2″ by director Roel Reine (The Lost Tribe) and starring my favorite mail man look-alike Danny Trejo (Machete), as well as Sean Bean, Ving Rhames and Luke Goss. Check it out below the synopsis.
Movie Synopsis:
Death Race 2 takes place in the very near future, as the United States economy begins to decline and violent crime starts to spiral out of control. To contain the growing criminal population, a vast network of for-profit, private prisons springs up, creating a lawless subculture ruled by gangs, cold-blooded killers and sociopaths.

That's right, sidewalk shitters! Even though Universal's Death Race 2 hasn't even left the starting line, it looks as if the studio that horror saved is looking to offer up a trilogy!
According to Movie Hole, based on the initial worldwide reception to Death Race 2 (releasing in most territories over the next few weeks) the studio’s home entertainment division has put Death Race 3 into development.
Believe it or not, there's been a lot of positive word of mouth surrounding the prequel. Then again, is it really that hard to make a better film than Paul Anderson did based on the same material?

For the life of me I'll never understand what that phrase means. I mean, why would anyone shit on the sidewalk, and how come it's used in a way that would imply that shitting on said pavement would in a manner of speaking show someone else who's boss? Being that Death Race 2 is a prequel, maybe we can finally get all this cleared up.
Speaking of which, get ready to dig on three clips and a behind-the-scenes look with Danny Trejo!

I watched Roel Reiné’s The Lost Tribe two days ago, and as I sit down to write this review, I will admit—it’s a bit of a struggle to recall specific details, character names and anything else that really struck me as original and outstanding. Don’t get me wrong; I enjoyed the film, and Reiné has some talent as a cinematic storyteller. It’s just that after another few days, I will probably have forgotten the movie entirely—and perhaps along with it, this review I’m writing. The film is decent, it just isn’t great.

Contrary to even our own guide to what's coming out on video-on-demand and online, rumors of the demise of those shiny discs that still take up shelf space have been greatly exaggerated. Take next week, for example, in which one will only be able to enjoy the guilty pleasure of "Lake Placid 3" or the easy charm of the Adam Scott indie comedy "Passenger Side" on DVD or upgrade to high-definition for the "Alien Quadrilogy" boxed set, a rerelease of the "Back to the Future" trilogy or better yet, Criterion editions of Stanley Kubrick's "Paths of Glory" or the Japanese curiosity "Hausu" on Blu-ray. And it's not even December yet.
Unfortunately in this time of tightened purse strings, the studios and specialty labels like Shout! Factory, Criterion and Olive Films aren't going to make this holiday season any easier on the wallet, with most digging deep into the vaults to...

Roel Reine's new horror flick "The Lost Tribe" resembles Robert Rodriguez's "Predators" in more ways than one. Both films take place in a mysterious jungle and feature plots that involve a group of people being hunted by a band of blood-thirsty creatures. However, whereas "Predators" hits the ground running, "The Lost Tribe" takes a long while before it gets anywhere close to interesting.Emily Foxler (“Ghosts of Girlfriends Past”) stars as Anna, one of five friends who find themselves shipwrecked on a remote tropical island. This week sees a ton of genre movies coming out on DVD and Blu- Ray. The biggest being Predators, followed up by the remake of the cult classic Night of the Demons, a sequel to Mirrors, and Anniversary editions for Rocky Horror Picture Show and Psycho. Add to that a slew of indie and classic horror and there is a lot to choose from.
Predators
Directed by Nimród Antal
Robert Rodriguez presents Predators, a bold new chapter in the Predator universe. Adrien Brody stars as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors mysteriously brought together on a jungle planet. But when these cold-blooded human “predators” find themselves in all-out war against a new breed of alien Predators, it’s the ultimate showdown between hunter and prey. Predators also star Laurence Fishburne, Topher Grace, Alice Braga, Walton Goggins, Danny Trejo, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, Oleg Taktarov, and Louis Ozawa Changchien.

The number of home video releases on October 19th is not as abundant as in recent weeks, and fewer re-released titles means those that are available are much more special. In this batch one Adrien Brody flick competes with another, and at least two independent horror titles are making a splash. Two beloved classic films return in Blu-ray where one is supplemented by a documentary treatment of it.
Also, don't forget to strum & drum out with some tunes from Rob Zombie on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Finally, foreign horror gives us an over-the-top Japanese gorefest, a British zombie flick where the $70 budget was spent on tea and biscuits for the zombies, and Norwegian black metal.

In writer / producer Paul Hart-Wilden's 'Wolf Town', Kyle (Levi Fiehler from Charles Bands's Puppet Master: Axis of Evil) a shy college student finds himself and three of his friends (Alicia Ziegler, Josh Kelly, and Max Adler) trapped in an old western ghost town by a pack of ferocious wolves and has to overcome his personal fears to confront the wolves and lead his friends to safety. Wolf Town is directed by John Rebel with Todd Ramsay (The Thing, Escape From New York) editing. Here's what Paul Hart-Wilden (Skinner) had to say on Wolf Town.
So who is Paul Hart-Wilden and what is he all about?
Hmmm… good question. Essentially, all about making movies. That’s pretty much the all and everything of it. I’ve spent my entire career and life since the age of about 14 wanting nothing else but to make movies and doing everything I...

It's been a long road for The Lost Tribe to get released. It's been kicking around under several titles including The Forgotten Ones and simply just The Tribe and has been housed under several different shingles. Finally the good folks at Image Entertainment are bringing this one home.
The Lost Tribe stars Brianna Brown, Nick Mennell, Emily Foxler, and Lance Henriksen (for five minutes anyway) and will be released to DVD on October 19th.
Special features include a feature commentary with producer Mohit Ramchandani and actor Hadley Fraser, a behind-the-scenes featurette and a trailer.
Check out the artwork below after the plot crunch.
Synopsis
When a devastating boat crash shipwrecks a group of friends in the jungles of an uncharted island, they are savagely picked off one-by-one by a cannibalistic enemy that evolution forgot. A horrifying action-adventure in the vein of Predator and Lost.

Universal Home Entertainment and Impact Pictures have tapped Roel Reiné to get in the driver's seat of Death Race: Frankenstein Lives , the direct-to-dvd sequel to Paul W.S. Anderson's Death Race . The film is a prequel, penned by Tony Giglio, once again set at Terminal Island where a man named Carl "Luke" Lucas enters the titular game. Essentially, it's a look at a previous "Frankenstein" before Anderson's film put Jason Statham into the boots of the character. Reiné, who hails from the Netherlands, recently wrapped another direct-to-dvd sequel, The Marine 2 , and also helmed The Lost Tribe and the Lance Henriksen-starring Deadwater . He produced the upcoming Bear , a nature-run-amok thriller which arrives sometime next year. Now, the question...

Warning: Confusion ahead.
Some of you keen eyed creature feature fans may have noticed that a little film called The Tribe was made and released last year. It starred Jewel Staite of Firefly and Stargate fame and was directed by Jorg Ihle. Well, for whatever reason that film was renamed The Forgotten Ones and a remake quickly went into production under the direction of Roel Reiné who changed the title to "Primal" (not to be confused with the upcoming low-budget Australian horror flick of the same name). You still with me? Good. Rumor is that Jewel was either too difficult to work with or not available to star in the remake (or perhaps just didn't feel like making the same bloody movie again) and so she's no longer in it. I'm outlining all this, because there seems to be all kinds of confusion surrounding which film is which and what...

NEW YORK -- AfterDark Films has acquired North American distribution rights to Jorg Ihle's horror/action film The Tribe.
AfterDark partner Courtney Solomon and executive vp acquisitions and creative affairs Stephanie Caleb made a pre-emptive offer on the film after its promotional trailer was shown at the Berlin International Film Festival and closed the deal amid bids from several U.S. distributors during Presidents Day weekend. The project also was sold to ProSieben and Splendid Film for Germany, Quality for Mexico and Polar Star for Latin America.
The film, co-written by Ihle and producer Mo Ramchandani, follows a group of twentysomethings stranded on a deserted island who encounter humanoid creatures and must fight for their survival. It was shot on location in Costa Rica and Los Angeles.
Producer-distributor AfterDark, which launched a wide release of Solomon's An American Haunting last year and will distribute The Abandoned this weekend through its partnership with Lionsgate, plans a wide theatrical release of Tribe with a low-eight-figure P&A commitment.
