... if you have seen Heimat 1 2 3 you might understand what happens here. Otherwise you will think the writer and director has dipped his pen in lysergic; so many choppy scenes badly stitched together it seems. I saw Heimat 1 a long time ago 2 I have seen 8 times and 3 a couple; and frankly I was struggling to make sense of this tale seen at times through the eyes of Herr Simon and Waltraud's daughter... this was made in 2006 and makes me ponder on the fate of bands which disbanded many years ago and decide to get back together one more time .... usually the best way to smash their iconic status in the eyes of the fan. To some degree here it may be what happens. I had to view this in many small chunks as could not really maintain interest; but if you are a fan of 1 2 and 3 you might want a peruse ...
