Whale of a Birthday I always hated so 1 out of 10.

Karate island is a way better improvement so I give this one a 8 out of 10.

It appears that a certain number of fans out there hate this episode because its "crappiness". Well, I hardly find anything wrong with this episode. It has no crappiness at all. It's an episode that actually makes sense for a change, and it's actually very thought out. In "Whale of a Birthday", Mr. Krabs wants to make sure that Pearl has a "coral" birthday party, so he uses Spongebob to buy Pearl a present using his credit card. In "Karate Island", Spongebob and Sandy go to Karate Island where Spongebob is hailed as "king of karate" but not without knowing that there's a scam behind it. I think one of the reasons some fans hate this episode is because it's not very humorous, but that's alright because most of the humor on this show is completely immature and childish. This is one of the very few episodes that strays from it and uses drama to actually make it good. I don't care what anybody says, I still say that this is one of the actually good episodes. And I'm glad it was voted #1. For those of you who can't stand the immature humor of this show, I highly recommend this one.

10/10 overall! Both of these episodes are really great :)

Definitely one of the worst episodes in the series! Ah…season 4….bad times….bad times.

Seriously, what happened to the writers? The second season 4 premiered, it's been going nowhere but down.

I mean, Whale of a birthday is okay. It's just enough to get you calm, relaxed, and totally surprised by the horrible randomness of Karate Island.

Everybody has to see this, just for the sake of being able to say, "I have seen, Karate Island. One of the worst episodes in history."

These episodes were horrible. I don't know who wrote this garbage but, whoever did should be fired from the SpongeBob writing staff. In Whale of a Birthday, Pearl is having her sixteenth Birthday. But, Mr. Krabs has been cheap on all her other past Birthdays. Pearl tells him to not be this year in order for her to finally impress her friends. Mr.Krabs sends SponeBob to spy on Pearl at the mall to see what she wants for her birthday. The stupid thing about that was that right after SpongeBob buys one of the things that she wants, Pearl finds another thing that she wants and SpongeBob thinks that he bought the wrong present. And as soon as Pearl finds all the other things that she wants for her birthday, SpongeBob keeps on thinking that he still bought the wrong present over, and over again. In Karate Island, receives a video tape in the mail saying that he won an all expense paid to Karate Island. He goes to Karate Island and takes Sandy with him. When they arrive they there, they meet Master Udon. SpongeBob turns to be good at karate and he rubs it all in Sandy's face. The whole turns out to be a scam to buy real estate. Master Udon forbids SpongeBob to leave until he signs a contract to buy a condo and it's all up to Sandy to save him. I hated both of these episodes. The plots were pointless and the humor was crappy. Season 4 is really disappointing. And so are seasons 5-7 Seasons 1-3 were way better. This Show is awful now. The new episodes are disappointingly not well thought out.
