Interesting and informative.

Since the release of the Da Vinci Code all things Da Vinci have been in fashion on television. Countless documentaries have been spewed out for our perusal. Most seem to be just another working of the machinations of Dan Brown's 2006 film. The Da Vinci Detective for me was quite refreshing, concentrating more on the painstaking work of Dr Seracini over the past 30 years than on simple crowd pleasing.

The first of the two part mini series takes us through the trials and tribulations that forensic scientist Dr Maurizio Seracini has faced trying to find Da Vinci's lost masterpiece, the Battle of Anghiari, in the Hall of 500 in Florence, Italy. The second, looks into his investigation of the Adoration of the Magi, Da Vinci's unfinished work, on behalf of the Uffizi gallery Florence, which reveals some startling new information for the art world.

Informative and interesting for the lay-person, I give this a 7/10 rating.
