A little over a year ago, it was reported that Noah Baumbach has been tapped to helm his fourth project with Netflix after Marriage Story, White Noise and The Meyerowitz Stories. Plot details are still kept under wraps and it was only this past January that Netflix revealed the title of the film will be Jay Kelly. Baumbach directs the film from a screenplay written by him and the movie’s co-star, Emily Mortimer. Baumbach reunites with his Meyerowitz Stories star Adam Sandler and pairs him up with George Clooney. Netflix continues to dole out the details of the film little by little and today, we are treated to a single image of the film. Take a gander below.

With Superman just months away, excitement is already spreading for the rest of the Dcu’s upcoming lineup. One of the most anticipated films is Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, starring Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El.

Sebastian Stan, known for playing Bucky Barnes, recently shared his excitement at the 2024 Comic-Con Liverpool. While discussing upcoming films, he said:

Gillepsie is a well-respected filmmaker with a strong track record. He directed I, Tonya (2017), where Margot Robbie played Tonya Harding and Stan co-starred as her ex-husband. He also helmed Lars and the Real Girl (2007), starring Ryan Gosling.

Jim Tauber, a longtime executive and the president of Sidney Kimmel Entertainment for a decade until his retirement in 2015, died Wednesday from complications of multiple myeloma, his family confirmed. He was 74.

Tauber, an Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences member, grew up in Glencoe, Ill. His time at Ske included overseeing “Hell or High Water,” “The Place Beyond the Pines,” “Lars and the Real Girl” and “Death at a Funeral.”

He spent the earlier part of his career at Columbia TriStar Pictures as executive VP of acquisitions and business/legal affairs, a position that allowed him to oversee production of films including Steven Soderbergh’s “Sex, Lies and Videotape.”

After that, he was president and chief operating officer of Propaganda Films, producing David Lynch’s “Wild at Heart” and Spike Jonze’s “Being John Malkovich” and contributing to the creation of Gramercy Pictures.

Tauber died Wednesday of complications from multiple myeloma, his family announced.

While most recently at Ske, Tauber oversaw such acclaimed films as Lars and the Real Girl (2007), Death at a Funeral (2010), The Place Beyond the Pines (2012) and the Oscar best picture nominee Hell or High Water (2016).

Before that, he helped launch Anonymous Content, which he eventually led as president and COO, and then served as worldwide executive vp acquisitions & co-productions for 20th Century Fox.

Tauber arrived at Anonymous from Propaganda Films, where he also was president and COO. While there, he produced 30 films, including Wild at Heart (1990) and Being John Malkovich (1999) and helped launch the distribution company Gramercy Pictures.

The film, titled “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow,” is based on the DC comics run of the same name by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. It’s set to shoot later this year, after James Gunn’s “Superman” wraps filming. “House of the Dragon” breakout Milly Alcock will star in the titular role.

In addition, Barbie also counts nominations for Best Musical/Comedy, Best Actress Musical Comedy (Margot Robbie), Male Supporting Role (Ryan Gosling), Best Screenplay (Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach), Best Director (Gerwig), and a slot in the new category Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.

The Talking Heads were one of the most successful bands in their heyday. From the late 70s to 80s, the David Byrne-led group produced popular music with an alternative, New Wave twist. The documentary, Stop Making Sense, was about their “Speaking in Tongues” Tour, which completely changed the way that concerts and tours are performed. Now, 30 years later, it has been re-released and remastered for IMAX by A24, first as a live-streamed event, and then in regular viewing times.

The Wrap reports that Stop Making Sense officially became IMAX’s best-selling live event ever. The remastered version of the concert documentary was released this past Monday, September 12th. The event garnered $640,839 of same-day revenue, spread across over 25 sold-out theaters in the United States, and the IMAX theater in London.

Sony Pictures’ “Dumb Money” could be the most frightening horror movie this year, and the Oscars would be smart to embrace it. From the critically acclaimed director Craig Gillespie, his smart and at times tragic look at the GameStop stock story of 2021 entertained the audiences of the Toronto Film Festival on Friday night where it held its world premiere.

TIFF CEO Cameron Bailey introduced the film and Gillespie brought up his fellow producers Aaron Ryder and Teddy Schwarzman, along with EPs and writers Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo, who sported the film’s title on each of their purses.
