A Gem In Dutch Film History!!
youtube-0576430 December 2019
'Zoop In India' is a Dutch Family film from 2006. It is the sequel to 'Zoop In Afrika' from 2005.

The rangers are super happy because their fellow ranger Alwin from the series has returned from his trip to India. But he didn't just came back for nothing. Alwin needs their help, because elephants have mysteriously disappeared in India. The rangers decide to help and they immediately travel to India. Once there, everything immediately goes wrong. Ultimately it appears that the elephants have been abducted by ivory smugglers. The rangers decide that the best option is to split themselves into two groups. Then they not only have to brave the necessary dangers, but they also end up in a real Bollywood film.

After I watched 'Zoop In Afrika', I decided to watch this movie right after that. I don't say it often, but we must be proud of such a film in the Netherlands! The action scenes from this film are of American level. I was on the edge of my seat all the time. Especially with the scene that the bus crashes and when Taffie hangs on the bridge. Why has there never been so much attention for this film? The music is beautiful again, but also the locations and the colors. Johan Nijenhuis told at the premiere that it was really hell to film in India. The people there did not comply with agreements, etc. If you hear something like that, you really start to doubt whether they have been able to make something good out of it. This surprised me enormously, because wow! What a movie. I can't say it often enough. Unfortunately, there are a few sloppy mistakes in it, such as the microphone and sound man, who you can easily spot a lot and are sometimes on screen for a long time. Do not understand how the editors did not see this. Or the many people on location themselves. You can clearly see that the actors have gotten even better at acting after Zoop In Afrika. I don't want to call anyone out, because everyone from the cast really played fantastic, but Nicolette van Dam as Bionda and Monique Van Der Werff as Taffie really sparkled off the screen.

In short, Zoop In India is a gem in Dutch Film History and we should talk a lot more about it! This is what we can make in the Netherlands, but unfortunately we are currently only making Romantic Comedies here.. Go see this if you like animals, action or adventure. You will certainly not be disappointed!!
