Not as bad as I once thought

When I first watched this over ten years ago, I thought it was rather pretentious and essentially a piece of fluff. Viewing it again yesterday, it appears McKellar was somewhat undeserving of my asperity.

There is a fragility about his 'girlfriend' and some poignancy about her manner of trying to reconnect with her absent boyfriend by visiting a hotel obviously decked out for foreigners.

Not bad.
